Pretty useful but could use more info. Would like per printer settings for linear advanced value, best temp, retraction distance/speed/lift, flow rate and so on. It would be nice to input the info per machine. Also scan filament and then scan printer it is going to and have the option for settings to come up. Scan the machine and options to unload filament and enter weight and notes.
Great app. I wish there was a way to sort your spools by how much filament is left, asceding and descending. That way it would be easier to know which ones are running out at a glanch. Currently it only autosorts by date added, with your oldest spools on top and newest ones at the bottom. Updated: Sorting is fixed, yay!
Was excited but it's just another premium needed to have a complete app. No thanks. In response to the dev. I don't mind paid apps. I was even going to purchase the premium version in order to use the statistics app. The major turn off was when you were limited to 3 rolls rendering the free version useless, hence the 1 star.
Compared to printoid, this interface is infuriatingly bad. the idea has potential tho and could be useful to me. I would like to see qr code integration or at least be able to switch the spool attached to the printer via NFC, which I thought is kind of the deal of the app. As such it does not shorten my workflow.
This app is an absolute pain in the *ss at the moment loaded all the spools on on device just so that another device can overwrite all that work with and empty list and no way to undo it. Once you assign a spool to a printer you can not change it as there is already a spool loaded in the printer. Please fix this
This app isn't remotely functional right now. Trying to add a printer during setup crashes it, and without having a printer assigned you basically can't do anything. Good idea, but this is clearly not ready for release.
It's a nice idea. However i used it alone and with Printoid and sometimes data gets messed up. I just got all my "usage" data deleted from all my spools. It seems that eyeballing the spool without this app may be more effective and reliable.
The cross mobile functionality of this app is very bad. Does not sync well across devices. I had my inventory messed up many times. I emailed the support team but never heard back from them. Do not buy this. Its not worth it.
I was hoping for more, either missed it or assumed it would pull filament use from printoid premium/octoprint, instead of having to input, or click on links (i am forgetful and don't want to manage filament in mutiple spots). I manage filament on octopi with the filament manager plugin. I now mainly use printoid for keeping an eye on prints and some of the other features. which means I don't start prints or manage filament in this I paid for addition to printoid.
I was under the impression that if i started a print from Printoid Premium that i would be able to select a roll to "print from" on the spool manager premium. Apparently it doesnt work like that or the setting just isnt working for me? not sure what premium for this specific alp is all abiut if it doesn't really communicate with Printoid. Overall, it just becomes a burden to input everything manually.
Fantastic app, although have found in my short experience does not save all inputs. If this was fixed and the addition of being able to link multiple prints for various large projects, would be perfect!
Great idea. Links with Printoid ok but NFC does not work at all. Have tried NTAG 203, 213 & 215 tags. I have other apps that R/W to these with no problem. This never writes a proper record. Without NFC this is too cumbersome to use unless you have OCD. Developer never responds. Crazy contrast to Printoid which is brilliant. As other reviews have noted, it should have at least the option to link automatically to Ocroprint. Would then be really effective... Come on Anthony - give your app love!!!
The free app worked great. I upgraded to the premium and now it crashes constantly! I can't add any spools or do anything else. My email to the developer went unanswered. I guess he's happy - he got his money! 😡 Developer responds to my review but not my email? And rudely at that!
This app is kinda broken, the buttons in app sometimes work, such as initial add of filament, but then you press add and it does nothing, or you fill in all the. Filament info only to validate and it not create an entry at all. Disappointed
perfect! exactly what i habe been looking for yes octoprint has management settings but i have 1 printer on octoprint and 1 not so this works perfect! yes it can be a hassle to setup first time but after that its fairly easy to upkeep
Rip off! Purchased the premium, loaded 36 spools using NFC. Tried to login with second device. Logged out of 1st device in case it was issue. Now I can't login we either. Wasted time, wasted NFC, and 4.99 for premium.
App is great for managing filaments spools. Nice support from the dev. Some bugs in particular with cloud sync, syncing is sometimes wrong (losing data).
what are you waiting for, press download. this app is great, the developers were really generous to release this free version without ads. it's really useful and organized.
Are there any plans to make this landscape compatible? I would like to run this on a tablet set up next to my printer that has a keyboard attached to make entry faster. If this is added then I will be buying the premium version
Have been enjoying the app and had no issues but I tried to change the currency to AUD (Australian Dollars) in the settings but it isn't an option so I had to use USD, is this an error or haven't you added AUD Yet?
Loosing randomly entered entries, emailed developer already twice, let's see what will be the answer, if any. Such a lity, great app but not usable.
Half the time new entries simply don't appear with no indication of what the problem is. Unusable in this state.
Great concept, but I can't get any entries to save once the app is closed.
A reel manager for everyone else. I took the time to get my reels weighed and entered into the Reel manager and it seems to work really well since now I have some way of knowing how much I have left and the cost of what I use. There are some non intuitive UI functions such as what long pressing does that is likely why some folks are having problems. Works great with Printoid.
