Works perfectly fine for ups patches. Simple and intuitive interface and an option to backup the original file and rename the patched one. What more could one want from an app like this?
In a way it's a good sign if the top critical review is just someone accusing everyone else of being liars and/or gullible, with colorful metaphors and no actual substantial feedback. I had an ips patch, I had a rom, it asked for those files and patched the rom succesfully. Either that guy wanted to do something more complicated, the app has been improved since that review, or he had no idea what he was doing. Regardless it's still a vitriolic, uninformative review.
If Output File Cannot Be Opened... that means you need to place the ROM and the Patch on the same folder (preferably on your Device Storage, not your SD Card) and that both files must be unzipped. It works perfectly.
For what this is, it works for the most part. However this somehow fails to apply a standard ASM patch that I write myself, in use for xkas rather than ASAR since I basically use xkas over ASAR any day, ever since I first got into ASM patching. If I select NON-ASAR, the game doesn't get patched properly, and ASAR makes the new ROM but I get an "ASM Unexpected Error: 1". Before the developers counters with "Check the code" or something, this is NOT the case. This patches successfully on PC.
I translated a Japanese Fire Emblem ROM, with an English patch, thanks to this app. Just make sure that your files are located in the internal storage, otherwise it won't work.
Worked just fine for me. If you can't get it to work it's on you, not the program. Read up about rom patching before doing it. Only downfall is not being able to do it on the SD card. But that's not the programs fault, that's android being stupid. Literally took me one try.
It really works. But the one thing that really hurts this app which led me to giving it 3 stars is that it does not give you the option to make the patched ROM into SFC or FRZ, as some emulators only support one of the two
I like it, it's simple and easy to use, but it has one crucial flaw: it doesn't tell you whether or not the Rom you're patching is headered or not. If you can fix this, it's an absolute 5 star app. But until then, it remains a 3 star app.
I had no issues with it whatsoever. It instantly applied the patch I needed with 0 complications, ads, or anything else getting in the way.
I'm sure this is just a glitch on my end, but when I try to look up a patch literally nothing pops up in any of my folders. When I click on Choose ROMS everything pops up. Any idea whats wrong?
It worked alright until the actual patching part... it didn't do anything to my files and just sort of did nothing. guessing (because of good and bad reviews) that it works for some and not for others, just sad it didn't work for me.
Everyone who voted this down don't actually know how to use it. Here's an easy to understand guide from me: 1. Download the hacked ROM file you are wanting e.g. Pokémon Glazed 2. Download the game that Glazed requires as a base. In this case, it's Pokémon Emerald. So get that ROM. 3. Unzip both files 4. Stick Pokémon Emerald into the ROM section. Stick Pokémon Glazed into the Patch section. 5. Make sure that the Patcher doesn't Checksum for errors. 6. Bada bing.
Works fine for every patch I've tried. People need to read the Readme with their patches. Most will tell you exactly what version ROM you need. Ignore the 1 star reviews that can't comprehend basic instructions. I rarely write reviews, but this one deserves it.
Works like a charm. I cannot fathom why people would rate this lowly; the app and patcher does not reflect the reviews. Works perfectly with GBA, SNES ROMs.
This ROM Patcher is really simple once you know how to use it. I've used it for months and never got to review it. Works almost always for me and have used it many times.
Poor app, when I patch something, it says input/output error for almost all files and just makes a file in my downloads folder which file size is 0B for no reason.
Been good patching my files. They only issue i have is patching with nmp patches. It tells me that I need the paid version (Donation); but I can't seem to find it.
It patches the ROMs, but it crashes every time I press a button on My Boy! GBA emulator with the patched ROM.
It does what its supposed to with no issue. Dont understand why the app is so low rated, people obviously dont understand how to use a simple tool.. Patched many roms with this app with no problems
Honstly, I think it works but, I simply just cant figure it out, I keep downloading these mega man zero 3 patches but, it doesnt show anything in the app, just... Explain please
It patched the game, but bugged it out. I patched it on a computer, same file same everything, perfectly fine. This app needs work
The best patcher since LunarIPS. I've used this for hundreds of patches and they always consistently work perfect, unless the patch or Rom is wrong. Impressive that it handles ppf and xdelta. All the xdelta files I patched work amazingly. I like that the entire filename shows up, only thing I would improve is the ability to add/remove headers. My new favorite patching program! Thanks for making life easy!
