I just cannot believe this game can be played on my mobile device. Absolutely gobsmacked that is can be done, yet so thankful...the game is amazing, with crystal clear graphics and sound, almost as if I'm back playing it on PC. The controls aren't too difficult once you get the hang of it, and the battles are quite seamless. I would pay twice the money I did pay for this game, and will definitely be looking at getting the other games in the series. Great work to the devs 10/10

Should be hard to port full-blown PC game. Very well done. I definitely recommend to play it, just need to get used to. Save often. Also note it is not casual, it takes time. PS some issues: No save during battle. If game restarts and loads it "replays" it, often with catastrophic outcome. So if you start a battle you should make it to the end. Some gestures cover what you do. Most notable the 2-finger drag to rotate a unit. Don't see a way to stop unit in campaign once it started moving.

This is an update from my last review. It might be just me but downloading this involved several crashes. I'm not sure if this would be an android issue or this game but regardless the gameplay is great once it's downloaded. Lots of support including easy touch controls and battery life reports. The battles can be fiddly but with a bit of practice it works well (I find the pause button makes things move a bit smoother). Definitely up there as one of the best ports to mobile. Thanks for Feral Interactive for sending support on these reviews too.

Amazing port of the PC classic. It's just like the PC original, complete with thousands of units on screen at once. The only issue I have with the game is the touch controls can take a while to get used to. Beside that, this is perfect. I gave this expansion a go first before the main game because I wanted to see what it was like on a phone. Since I'm impressed, I'm definitely now going to move onto the main Rome Total War! Now. Please get on and port Medieval 2 Total War as well!

This game needs some fixes and improvements. In my device, it lags in 3x speed and sometimes crashes when i locate my faction members in the map. I got some problems with the controls during a battle especially when locating my selected division and attacking an enemy. The missle unit markers and lines have some bugs. Overall, its a good game can't wait to buy the main part Rome: Total War. I hope there's a Medieval: Total War or a Shogun: Total War to be ported in mobile later.

Overally it's a nice conversation of the original PC game which I played a lot decades ago, contains almost everything what was important in the tabletop version BUT controling the battles is not as easy as it was on PC. Controls are clumsy and sometimes stupid so it's hard to implement your strategy on the screen. Faceing the unit is a problem, and I couldn't find any option to reorganize the battle formation of a single unit which was easy and very useful on PC and of course in real battles :)

Just like the original Rome, very well done on this port. it did end up reminding me why i never really played BI, it can be fairly boring, or very, very difficult. all depending on the faction you choose and not much middle ground. not a lot of fighting goes on in the campaign, mostly because west and east rome own most of the map and there isnt many factions. still I do enjoy playing the game and doing mock custom battles, just to see what happens lol.

Campaign portion is excellent and very faithful to the PC original. Fighting on the battlefield is a trickier experience, though. Also, unit sizes are v small, so battles are quick and not epic, but epic battles was the main draw of the desktop original. Modding currently not possible, nor editing game preferences. Options limited. 4 stars, still a great port.

Great Games, i really supported this device, despite it don't officially, and it based spec, not supported device that what you use for. It's really old school pc from 2004, men, i love this, it's satisfying me, but there some issue, some frame rate issue can be disoriented, but apparently like who cares, it's fun strategy games. Hopefully if you released medieval 2 total war, you must supported my device too, only specifications to this list.

The graphics is so cool compared to rome total war. I love the new animations in this expansion but the only problem I'm facing so far is some minor bugs. Sometimes sound goes off suddenly and I don't know the reason. I have to save and restart the application to fix it. The second is, the glitches and sudden black screen. Specially when I rotate my phone or when I'm sliding down my notifications. It happens almost 90% of the time. I'm using Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC snapdragon 732g I hope u fix it. TY

Pretty great. Gotta love having a TW game in your pocket. Definitely agree that the 'distance from capital' penalty, is way too strong. Makes it nearly impossible to grow large empires without rebellions every turn. Tweaking that could make a world of difference. Also, alliances seem to mean nothing. Allies will turn on you rapidly and without provocation consistently.

I Love all the total war sagas always have. The only issue with this one im having is your glitches and bugs. For example if I click on an army and click on a settlement sometimes the army list is still at the bottom screen and this keeps me from leaving the settlement so I'm stuck there unless I quit the game. Also another glitch is I can click on settlements and at the bottom screen the check to close screen will not appear and I am still stuck in the settlement screen, fix and receive 5 stars

I played all the Rome total war games when they first came out on PC 20 years ago. They were my favorite war game to play then and now they are again. Almost all of the functionality that was available on the PC versions are available on the mobile apps and I am hooked again. Thank you so much to the developers that took the time and coverted these all time favorites over so that I may enjoy them again!

Great game. Brings back old memories. Intuitive controls. A bit hard to grasp at first but an enjoyable experience once you get a hang of the ropes. I only have ONE ISSUE. I can open the Rome Shell but keyboard doesn't display so can't type anything in the rome shell. I'm an old man that needs cheats to complete my experience. Any solution for typing in Rome shell when keyboard doesn't popup?

Great game honestly since I can't get total war on pc I'm grateful for making this game and hoping for more improvements..I hope you can fix the bug where as soldiers are having a hard time or are not going up the siege tower and also the sounds sometimes disappears during battles which also causes the game to have glitches and bugs so I hope the Devs can fix and other than that it's a great game

What an excellent port of an amazing game! Great UI, totally smooth battles, and amazing grand strategy! Extra factions including Romano British and the Slavs means there's even more content than the original! Only downside is that moving troops and custom formations can be a bit cumbersome on the touch screen, but it's not enough of a hindrance to stop you buying this amazing game!

Fantastic, like on PC, but better. Using on TabS4, running smooth and no issues so far in the last 3 weeks, tried all fractions and several (50+) manual battles. I had few issues on Note8, clearly is it requires some CPU and RAM power. Basic commands fine, at times it takes few attempts to get used to advanced battle placements and the shortcuts (from keyboard to touch makes sense). Tablet is best also for screen size, 6''+ should be workable if good power. Overall, feel like 15 years ago!

To me, it's 2009 all over again. Rome: Total War is my first Total War game. And I'm very glad that I bought and downloaded this mobile version based from an expansion pack from RTW. "Barbarian Invasions" is my favorite RTW expansion for its faction diversity and a lot of gameplay mechanics that I enjoyed like 13 years ago. Kudos to Feral Interactive and the Creative Assembly for this game. Looking forward for your future games and more mobile Total War installments.

Dar. K. Mar 20, 2022

Overall it's the same game like on PC, only now we can play as some other factions like Romano British. Some simplifications to the UI can be made. Works without any problems, although it lagas a tiny bit sometimes. Enjoyed it!

pud. b. Jun 20, 2019

its day one as I'm writing this, so the little bugs it has are fine. load and selection screen stuff mostly. I have both versions and barbarians add several big new gameplay elements that turned total war fans on their ears 20 years ago, so there are port issues. but these guys are like the anti-Bethesda or anti-ea, the game works day one for a one time price. dlc and porting done right, well done everyone at feral.

Mic. B. Jun 19, 2019

Purchased this today and already astonished yet again with the work Feral have put into this. A full port and beyond, with all factions playable, especially the Roman British faction which I genuinely cannot remember being able to play as on the PC original. Fantastic work getting this update on mobile along with Rome Total War and very much looking forward to Alexander and Medieval 2, hopefully also making an arrival to Android in future. Note: Unit size change in "more options", in game.

Pet. S. Jun 24, 2020

Excellent port of the original, quite happy with the controls once you get used to the touchscreen method, battles can be tricky. Only problem seige towers can glitch on large stone walls, causing you to lose any units trying to use them. Had the same issue on Rome original on S10e.

Mat. M. Jul 7, 2019

I can actually change the faction heir now. I was not able to do so on Rome Total War. My only negative thought is I cannot save right before a battle as I can on my PC. This means if I have multiple battles that are engaged by the AI while during the turn change I am f*****. If I lose the battle. That means I am forced to go back an entire turn and have to hope I can win every battle. Otherwise I will lose multiple battles and/or cities. This lack of the original feature can make your blood boil
