Doesn't seem to search recursively. That's a pretty basic function for any file manager, and pretty important, too. As for ads, I never see any, since I only have data/wifi on when I need to download stuff.
Was able to copy the default notifications and ringtones out of the system/media/audio folder WITHOUT rooting the phone. Of course, there is some security risk to an untrusted app being able to do that. But if you need to get down and dirty with the file system to copy something and you don't want to mess with rooting, this did what I wanted.
Why is your app burning background data when the app is not in use!? This is app is not interactively connected to any other apps or services. That is a MAJOR SECURITY ISSUE. I will uninstall this app if I ever see that happen again! Permissions removed, indefinitely!
SGS5: I just installed this after reading the reviews. A lot of those were one word junk. So far this is working very well on an UN-rooted samsung galaxy S 5. Verizon version. I played and looked at things on my microSD card just fine. I have not tried to move files yet though. A negative is I don't see the dir/file sizes. Need those to be shown. Another thing is the search only searches the drive you are on. Like the SD, but not internal or the other way around.
Still the best browsing app, regardless of ratings! It's the ONLY app that permits browsing the root folder of an android device using LINUX/UNIX structured display. Permits file search throughout the directory structure, INCLUDING the root itself. When you MUST find a lost file, this is the ONLY app that always works!
Still 5 stars but will always be 2nd best to Root Explorer, been using root browser for years as a sort of intermediary when doing any adjustments to Root Explorer when R.Ex is installed to system. Noticed today this is something you will need to look into - No problem in deleting a preload source but total failure in deleting the symlink in system, said it was deleted every attempt but it wasnt deleted at all, even after reboots. Correct me if I'm wrong but on some phones this could throw On-screen u.i.d errors/system warnings.
Works, but with some UGLY faults. It says I do not have busybox installed but I have BusyBox Pro, which is better than their repackaged version. Fix this and I'll promote the rating, though, at best you'll only ever get 4 stars because no device should ever be plastered with junkware ads. The occasional ad is acceptable.
Re loaded... You need to have a restore purchase option. Also, it did this last time but it quits after a few days, it doesn't recognize the files in memory or in ext. SD Card. All the sudden I'll open it up and then they are available to view etc.
Best! Sometimes it crashes (has stopped). It could show the size in folder properties and show the flash drive disk space menu!!!... [Also, have problems with downloading utilities]...
Awesome essential tool for anyone needing access to files and folders on your device with easy to understand user interface and is easy to learn new features you may be unfamiliar with.
It's a good file browser, please note that as the name implies, only works with a smartphone under your control (as the title reads, the first word). Really useful for SU!
Fantastic file explorer. I believe I've been using it since the HTC Dream. Currently can't play audio files, but I don't know if that problem's internal or external.
In-app ads, I get. But it is unacceptable to display popup ads. I dont care how good the deal is, an advertisement, a pop up ad in the notification bar is completely out of line.
Long abandoned and no longer fully works. On modern Android devices, you can't write, only read. This means no copying, moving, or renaming files.
My go to file manager & file extractor. I've been using this app for over 3 years has never disappointed me. Kudo's to the developers.
I could see the files. I granted root access but is not deleting :( some system files I want to delete. I was able to do it with es file explorer which is not longer in this store and is not working in oreo also
This root browser is super functional and has lots of buttons for navigation. Bought the ad upgrade not because I don't like ads just to support this dev.
As soon as it was launched it prompted to install more tools without naming or explaining them. Also the app is not verified by Google. So uninstalled it.
Used to work. Then suddenly the data foldet became empty. Now I have to use another app to access the same folder.
ALL the bad comments were word junk. I've been using this for almost a year. It's not working for other people because they aren't rooted. Anyways, it is a good root explorer. Thanks!!!
Latest update broken text file opening. Paths: /data/file and /sdcard/file are giving an error because it thinks the files are located at /root/data/file and /external/file, respectively. Running Android 8.1.0, not a system-as-root system, clear problem when treating the path of file opening.
While browsing a folder with many pictures, the app freezes completely and I have to restart my tablet.
With the last update. I can't choose to open file as video, pic etc. It doesn't show all my installed apps
cool... in theory. can't access folders in the root that I want if I'm trying to access beyond two sub folders below the home / parent folders.
Used to be the BEST file manager, but the 3-5minute, fullscreen, unskippable TIKTOK ADS (only ads played) whenever I want to actually do anything made it useless. Plus the ads are almost impossible to dismiss. There are better choices available don't get this crapp
