[root] Naptime

Why?Because why the hell not?Doze is amazing
- arguably the best feature of Android™ Marshmallow and Nougat. But with its caveats. It can take at least 2 hours to kick in (if the device is stationary, not charging etc). If you move around, even with the screen off, doze won't kick in, so there are a lot of potential battery saving opportunities lost, gone with the wind.SolutionWith Naptime by toggling in the "Aggressive doze" options (and assuming you're rooted) Doze will kick in right after you screen off AND it disables your sensors so that it doesn't kick you out from doze mode if you move around. When your device screens on everything goes back to normal. It's just like magic.OptionsIf you don't want to use "Aggressive doze" you can also tune all the framework doze options to your liking. Although it's a bit for advanced users each item is bundled with a description.Never settle with bad battery life again with Naptime.F.A.Q.Q: I don't receive notifications or my music streaming apps stop working after screen off. Please halp! With 'Aggressive Doze' doze is being forced after you screen off. Doze is, currently, the most powerful battery saving mechanism on Android. The following restrictions apply to your apps while in Doze:· Only high-priority push notifications are delivered;· Network access is suspended;· The system ignores wake locks;· Standard AlarmManager alarms are deferred to the next maintenance window:· The system does not perform Wi-Fi scans;· The system does not allow sync adapters to run;·The system does not allow JobScheduler to run;Apps like Gmail, which use normal-priority notifications, have them delivered during the maintenance window or when you wake up your device. This is standard behavior and can't be changedAlthough, you can choose apps to bypass doze. Go to Settings -> Battery -> overflow ->Battery optimization -> All apps -> Your app -> Don't optimizeThat'll allow apps like Spotify to bypass the forced doze and actually work on screen off.Q: What's the 'Sensors app whitelist' feature? It works together with the 'Disable motion detection' feature and allows you to choose up-to one app (sorry, Android limits us to only one app) to request sensor information even if you disable motion detection. For example it allows apps, such as Google Fit, to query the accelerometer or gyroscope to count your steps.Q: Why does my display, sometimes, blink once after screening on?This might happen if you're disabling the motion sensors. The reason for this is simple, for system brightness & auto-rotate settings to work after screening on they must be toggled on/off (otherwise they won't work) and therefore it may blink (even if it's only for a couple milliseconds).

Again. Saving profiles still doesn't work. It saves nothing and names can't be added. Another thing. People that say that they need to pay over and over again when already purchased premium. Delete every Google account except the Google account used to purchase this app in the play store. Premium will only return this way after each update. Then u can add Google accounts back if you want to.

It seems from the doze history that light doze mode does kick in, but the percentages only sometimes go above 0% of light doze. Please tell me if it's an actual bug with the app that it doesn't go into doze or if it's merely a bug with how percentages are presented. Hopefully you can answer this as soon as possible, and Thank you for creating this amazing app.

I like the app a lot! It really helps with the battery saving, especially disabling of sensors and other peripherals, like WiFi and Mobile Data. The only problem I have is that when I pay for the Premium features, the payment gets reversed after 3 days or so, resulting in conversion from Premium to Free app. I have done small amounts 3 times, so I have not had much trouble; the only trouble is the payment reversal (that too it happens AFTER successful confirmation of payment). What to do now?

Works great with Android Pie. However after I upgraded to Android 10, it won't remember the permissions I allowed for the app. e.g. When it goes to doze, a popup appears on the screen to allow turning off Bluetooth (I discover this when I turn on the screen). Allowing it does not save the permission, and I have to repeatedly tap "Allow" everytime I turn on the screen. I hope everything else is working properly. I'm using Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

So far, so good, i guess. Sir Franco, can you please check on "disable mobile data" option? It is not working for me. The rest of the options are working. Like disable wifi which is obviously turned on again automatically when screen on plus it is shown in the nap stats but not disable Mobile Data. I hope a fix will come soon. More power!

This app has actually helped me a ton with battery, especially if your phone is rooted, definitely worth the features. Of course, the only setback is the money as you can pay for more features, or you can actually watch an ad to get access to those paid features for just a day. That's really consider of the developer, and I applaud him for it. Other than that, amazing app, definitely worth a try.

In my experience it will save juice if the phone is left alone for a long period (ex: overnight), but won't help much if it's active but you're using the phone on and off through the day. Aggressive doze activation seems to trigger a lot of "job delay" alarms by the Android system, in order to delay numerous things that otherwise would have taken place. So this constant job delay (if you're intermittently using the device), seems to have a strain on battery as well.

Seems to be the only app for doze management that still gets updates these days (looking at you, Greenify!) and works equally well on all my phones, from Android 7 to 11. The app is stable, does what it's supposed to do (ie no closing of other apps or such) and includes neat yet rare functions like enabling Android's own battery saver or setting light doze parameters to the max to simulate deep doze when the latter won't be usable (for example due to moving with the phone). 5 stars.

It is an amazing app though it doesn't seem to be able to whitelist apps properly. Automate and Blocakada don't seem to be working even after being whitelisted and having permanent notification enabled. Also, enabling ads on the app doesn't seem to work even after disabling blockada. I really want to be annoyed and pay you ! ;)

A very useful app. The only problem I face is that the experimental features do not turn off on a schedule. For example, I've turned on "Disable Sync" and "use android battery saver" for doze on a schedule. These settings do not revert once the schedule ends i.e sync does not turn back on once the schedule ends.

Love this. Works well in combination with putting background apps to sleep on my phone in the battery settlings to give outlandish battery life especially on power saving mode. With moderate use + power saving mode, I got through a day 66% left, implying my it could take my phone do 3 days with one charge (Samsung Note 20 Ultra, Snap Dragon) . Only gripe is turning off the motion detection also turns off Always on display after a split second on my home screen. But hey you can't have it all!

Probably the only battery saver app that doesn't "save" battery power by showing some battery charging animation and saying it downloaded more RAM and everything is better now. Naptime is one of the apps that just work™. I'd really love if I could configure it so that it won't turn off Bluetooth unless there are no devices connected. Is that already possible?

This app used to be a 5 star app. But ever since "force doze timeout = 5 seconds" became a labs feature this option doesn't seem to work at all. Even watching the ad doesn't make doze enable in 5 seconds. On older versions of naptime (the one with the old ui) it always sleeps in 5 seconds. At this point I'm not even sure if this app is even helping doze, if at all. The old version saves immense battery.

It does what it does and does it good. What more can you ask for? Only thing would be some way to bypass the conflict of automatic screen brightness "freeze" on Oneplus 7 Pro. Edit: A thought. In my case a toggle of automatic brightness solves the problem. 3rd party apps for screen brightness is a solution. App "Lux" screen adjustment on "on wake" is a nice compromise for example

When I turned on the screen of my OP3T, I was in Spotify as expected. Problem is: Buttons were unresponsive (home, back, recents). I tried swiping down to open the notification area, but that was unresponsive too. When screen was locked, fingerprint sensor does not work. I am no expert but is it possible that all these issues are related to the fact that OnePlus updates their launcher through the PlayStore and the launcher somehow gets put to sleep? No idea if this is a Doze or Servicely issue, because I have both. Forgot to mention, I tried rebooting by holding the power button and then tapping on Reboot, but the little circle kept spinning forever, never rebooting. Thanks!

Trying again on a new phone (Galaxy A40) with Android 10. Hard to tell exactly how beneficial it is being, but at least seems to be displaying meaningful stats which it never did on my old phone. Oddity though: went haywire last night, toggling between light and full doze several times a second for hours after exactly midnight, most likely because because a calendar alarm was triggered then. Didn't hit battery too much, but must have had some impact switching mode thousands of times like that.

The app itself saves battery very effectively, but using Tasker to send intents (example: com.franco.doze.DEACTIVATE_DOZE) does not seem to work. I wanted to use intents to let my fitness tracker keep getting gps. The last version that does this is 6.6.2 that happens not to control gps at all. But the intent function either does not work properly or is not documented well enough to understand its proper use. It would be very good to be able to turn off Naptime for several hours at a time (running a marathon, using gps to record exercise) then send another intent [with Tasker] to reenable Naptime. I've sent the developer a more detailed email with my test results.

As far as I can tell this is a great and well designed app that does exactly what it says on the tin, though there is one feature that some people like myself would appreciate. While the app is great at saving your battery, sometimes you have apps that you don't want to be put to sleep and instead want to remain awake. If the developer could implement an option to choose which apps can ignore being put to sleep, I'll happily give it five stars!

Franco's apps are always fantastic! I am having a problem though with naptime. Creating a profile and re-launching app shows the donate screen, which I already donated. So it's kind of annoying and I can't tell if it's working properly.

Eri. M. L. Mar 6, 2020

The advanced setting seems to be not sticking, every time I turn the screen back on and go into nap time, I see the default value in the advanced setting again. Also, the "long press to change profile name" does not work, I have never test pressing it more than a minute though.

I'm not sure I was expecting much because battery optimization on modern android is (supposedly) already so robust, but the improvement has been incredible! 10/10 app, and an invaluable service.

This app works (switches of bluetooth, wi-fi, etc) only if I keep my phone screen on for 5 minutes and then turn my phone screen off. If I turn my phone screen on and then turn it off again within 1 minute, then this app will not work (will not switch off bluetooth, wi-fi, etc. I really like the look of this app, but due to this issue I will have to look for another app to use. My phone is rooted and I have given this app the correct permissions.

Mag. Apr 10, 2022

Deep doze feature not working.. And it's literally waste to enable permission via adb. Just showing information about how many % of battery loss happened during locked screen. Don't waste time with this app.

Jac. M. Jun 28, 2019

I really love the app. The new tutorial for non-rooted users is great too! Just I don't see the switch for Disabling motion detection during doze. It was enabled by default and the option was there but now its not there anymore. Android: 9.0 Model: SM-G973F Edit: I saw you answer (thx btw) but I'm just gonna keep the question there if somebody happens to want to ask the same. Hope the next update includes that feature (if somehow possible) 😜

I am a Poco X2 user and I was having lot of issue with battery drain during standby. I have tried lot of things, finally came across this app. This app can do wonders when used with the right rom for your phone. I am currently using evolution X rom with a redcliffe kernel and the result is just amazing. I had 0% drop in battery drop overnight.
