Specifically Roots teaches SAT Test Prep Vocabulary and ESL Vocabulary through Etymology and Gaming.
Etymology is the study of the evolution of words. Learning where words come from will help you create associations to remember them and even understand vocabulary you’ve never seen before… And its tons of fun.

Much great effort gone into making this nice and extremely important app. It crashes at the end of a round. It has typographic errors. Needs sound too. It can easily earn 5 stars.

Yes, they made a typing error... I'm a university student studying for a Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary School) in Australia. This is a great app to assist me in cracking the rust off my etymological skills. I will be recommending it to my student peers. And what a thrill to see people learning English giving it 5*. English is a hard language to learn, so I tip my hat to them. You must be proud to be able to help them! Many thanks.
How can you build and classify words when you misspell them? Cmon guys. You spelled marriage wrong. There in the app, you spelled it 'marraige.' Houston, we have a problem.

Roots is an interesting and useful app actually i am an early user for it and i wish you good luck in your app
The ability to learn about words and their origins is a good idea and I was genuinely interested once I understood the mechanic. My biggest issue was with the interface, it's very all-time and not so gamey. Until I got into the game I didn't really know what I was clicking. For example, one of the screen presents a bunch of lists labeled "List 1... List x", maybe these could be categorized? It says to choose one but how do I know that I want to choose list 1 as opposed to list 2?
Seems to run great, excited to get a better vocabulary! Gotta write my novel
The video at the beginning is extremely descriptive. The Game itself is engaging and fun to play. I've found it helps me a lot with my vocabulary and my understanding of new words!

I love all of the psychology employed to make this app fun, but I wish the choices wouldn't scramble when I get them wrong and there were only 4 choices (too much cognitive load).
