For months now I have been unable to order through the app. Can't get past the location since the location is undetected. It gives a message when the app is opened saying that hours are limited, but I've tried at several different hours of the day without change. With my busy schedule the app was convenient instead of standing in the long line wasting more than half my break. Please fix it!

Violates basic principles of app design! The "list" at the beginning of the app to select delivery location just looks like text ---totally can't tell it is where you select where you want your food delivered. Similarly, there is no indication that moving back far enough clears your order---or that that's the only way to clear your order if you need to. We will get our food and it will be awesome, but that's despite the barely-usable nature of this app.

This is a terrible app. It looses parts of the order before I've finished making my selections, it doesn't always register the things I've clicked on and it seems to time out. It's also really hard to log into, for some reason. We ended up not getting food from this place because we couldn't figure out how to get the order in.

Good food, but the app is terrible. The workflow just makes no sense. You have to pick all the dish types first before customizing them. This is absolutely terrible when trying to do a group order. Custom bowls are also strange. Start by picking a dressing? Overall not a great ordering experience.

You should never use this app to order if you want your order to be correct. The options to select and unselect items are essentially ornamental. For example I always remove the meat from my selection because I am vegetarian, yet they always include it. It's clear that the employees don't care or just don't look at it

It is absurd that I need to download a glitchy app on my phone just to order lunch from Roots. I'm glad that this trend hasn't caught on elsewhere and the ordering experience isn't normally so slow, difficult, and stupid.

I have the classic "Unable to process request due to missing initial state." error on android 12. Cleared cache, re-installed the app, no custom domain. I have enough kludgy software to fix at work. No more roots for me. 22Fen22: still can't change password. Same issue.

App is easy to use and the food is great! Features I'd like to see in the future are the ability to modify menu items (i.e. No onions, substitute tomatoes), and for the app to remember your past orders for easy repeat ordering.

It's doing the same to me as a previous user. App was great before the update. Now it keeps sending me verification codes and telling me they are invalid and now it's blocked me from signing up at all. Very frustrating because I can't order as a guest either... Business lost because of the update errors.

A dumpster fire of a user experience, most of the text is barely legible and some of the items don't even stand out as a selectable button. Hire a new UX designer and redo the entire thing. Food is phenomenal, though!

The app worked okay for my first order, but now opening the app just stalls at a blank white screen. No solutions so far seem to resolve the problem, including closing the app, rebooting the phone, and reinstalling the app. If it worked consistently it would be great though.

Fantastic app. Tremendously speeds up the process. The food is so good, there is usually a wait to order and be seated. This app eliminates the wait and the order has always been fulfilled on time and accurately.

Frequently crashes. Also I cannot delete my old credit card info to replace with a new card. I have tried uninstalling the app, waiting a few weeks and then downloading again... But it remembers my old card info. Still malfunctionong after September update!

The updated version still fails to find the restaurant location. I love the food at Roots and the app used to work. It made it easy to order and pick up, but this is just frustrating now.

Stopped working after the last Android update. If a business is going to offer an app, they need to be prepared to keep it working, especially since you can't place a pickup order without it.

Amazing! Bbq tofu slaps. Edit: was 5 stars and is now 1 because the app is asking for a log in code and is telling me the code is invalid. Now it's saying due to suspicious activity I can't log in at all. If you are going to have all pick up orders through an app, please make sure it works. It shouldn't be this hard just to order food. Edit #2 back to 5 stars. App is working again and as you can see above they responded politely and the issue was resolved.

Baaaaaad. Crashes, doesn't update order properly, completely fails after you've already entered credit card info. And none of this is to even mention the abysmal and confusing design choices. Negative stars.

It is truly unbelievable that the only way to place a pickup order with this restaurant is through an app. There are so many times I would have ordered food from here if it weren't for the fact that I had uninstalled the app to free up space on my phone. Seriously asinine.

This app is the way to order your Roots fix while stuck at home. The only hitch is that you have to have special instructions for ordering to get delivery to your neighborhood (like knowing which day they come to your part of town, and knowing where to put your address and in what format). But I had those instructions before getting the app.

Roots is great, but I have to call out the absurdity of needing to install a specialized app just to order food from one specific restaurant. This whole system could just as easily be integrated into a webpage.

This is a terrible app. There is no where to use a coupon code upon checkout & the app frequently closes. Not user friendly at all. Their customer service is TERRIBLE!!

So many missed orders. So many times the app is buggy, won't load restaurants, won't load pick-up times, won't submit order, etc. That I've just thrown my hands up and changed my plans. That's a shame because I love Roots food and could eat there everyday.

worked fine once, now the app cannot calculate the total right: tries to charge me for $10.31, while the food+tax is $10.41, so it tells me that a wrong amount was authorized. Kinda ridiculous, actually.

No "roots human" was there to meet me with my order. Scheduled pick up was 2:30 pm. I waited until 2:40 for someone and then just went in the store when i saw others doing so. Saw a line of about 15 people shoulder to shoulder too. So i had to go inside and be around all these people. Very unhelpful staff didn't even greet me. So for me, the app absolutely failed to be a solution to getting food during a pandemic.

Most horrible user interface and doesnt allow you to locate the store and order(its impossible so why have a app for fun).it was so horrible that i had to take the time to write a review rather ordering food somewhere else.
