The interface with Dropbox is very poor. If you have more than 1 email address, and more than 1 Dropbox account this app can't switch between them. So if you sign I to the wrong account in the first instance, then you're stuffed. You can't go to the other account no matter what. This info should be backed up within the Rootsmagic site and the app should be linked to that. Using a 3rd party is just mental!

Used to be good. Since android 7 & 8 the app doesn't render properly. Scaling and dpi issues. Names are cut in half. Don't know why they keep app in the store. No updates, no replies. Looks as if this has been abandoned. A response from the developers would go a long way. I do have the desktop version and like it quite well.

Got a new phone and it was working fine in fact better than my old phone. Now when I go to descendant view, it won't allow 6 generation to come up. In fact, it closes the app altogether. I see it hasn't been updated since 2017. I like having my family tree available where ever I go.

It does what it needs to do since it is a read only app. It is nice to have my RootsMagic file available where I go. One thing I would like to see: - Ability to access a file on my device other than in dropbox. I only use Dropbox for this.

I use Rootsmagic 7 on the computer and am very disappointed in the app. Was forced to setup a DropBox account to even upload my data then the format on screen is obviously not intended for smartphone use. information not even readable. Sad and greatly disappointed !

please please please make a full version of rootsmagic to be used on chromebooks. at this time I have to find something different but I would return in a heart beat because your program is so easy to use and so easy to organize large families names and information as well as media.

I'm recently retired from a 40-year IT career. I failed to get it to work as it said my browser wasn't compatible to synch with Dropbox, so I tried Edge which they recommend and it still says not compatible.

Terrible app. Desktop version is good but the Android version is completely unusable. Requires a Dropbox account just to upload an existing Roots Magic database, and even then it won't work. A truly pathetic mobile application of a fairly decent desktop program. Sad!

Apps good but can be broken, having had fun getting the thing to work it only lasted a short time before by changing view I managed to break it and and only option uninstalling to reinstall.. the app appears what you expect.

Unusable! After numerous attempts I have been unable to get it to load a file from Dropbox. I deleted the app and hope that some day a simple side-load option will be made available.

It seems that some reviewers are unaware this is a read only app. A companion to the full program for your computer. It works great!!

You need a PC and a drop box account to actually use this app. Really not useful, 2021 I would expect this to be able to sync with cloud like family search.

Has minor, basic functionality, but I have a GEDCOM viewer app (last updated in 2010) that does more, does it better, and looks better doing it. I'm uninstalling. Perhaps the next RM update will include major updates to this app, too.

Junk. I cannot believe in this day and age you are forcing people to upload personal family information to Dropbox, especially after their recent security issues. Why can I not select a file that I transfer to my device?

The app will not open my RM file in Dropbox. It used to work great. I updated my tree and replaced the file. Now the app is useless.

You must have a Dropbox account to use. Yes, dropbox accounts are free but when I say you have to have a Dropbox account I mean there is no other way to load your family file. Can't use any other cloud storage. Can't even copy the file over and use locally?!

Won't work with Android 11 at all. Would be sympathetic but the app hasn't been updated in several years by the look of it.

Record number does not show in Details. Search function is not working even with very accurate inputs. No updates available.

won't show file after putting it in directory. app just circles back asking for access to dropbox. Suggest you allow direct access from device as an alternative.

Should have an option to use a file already on the device. I don't intend or wish to use Dropbox to transfer the database from my computer. Will not use it until this option is available.

It is a companion to RootsMagic on my PC and is really helpful when on the move. Why hasn't it been updated for so long?

Viewing Only - Unable to edit my tree so complete waste of time and mnemory on my phone. Purchased RM7 for my laptop to get out of purchasing Ancestry and I still have to purchase bc they have the best mobile app

Flat out doesn't work. Apparently it hasn't been updated in years doesn't work on recent versions of Android. It's a shame because I'm a fan of the desktop version.

I have just deleted this app, it is a horrid little app and will never attempt to use it on my phone again, I will stick with my laptop version.

Have tried 5 times to access my files on Dropbox and on my divice. Wll not let me do this even though the app is synced with Dropbox

Used to love this app but now states not optimized for new tablet running 8.1 wont open or load database so disappointed as wanted to share research with family this christmas.

Terrible, Dropbox database would not load. No in app support. Developers need to have a think before releasing live apps

It only gives me 2 choices. EITHER send feedback or close program. We like the desktop version.

It won't let me create a Dropbox account, which means this whole app is useless. Why should I even need to use Dropbox?
