Feedly quit working for me, so I tried a bunch of other readers and this one works for me. Folders are a 'must,' I find. Managing feeds is excellent. I am not completely happy with navigation and viewing but can live with it. I turned off embedded pictures as being just glitz and taking up too much room. Single pane would have been better if it included the precis. I wish I could hide read articles, too.
Very good RSS reader. Only features I would like to see is the option to have full stories open to internal browser when tapping an item, instead of opening a menu where you have to click to see full story. Also a way to re-order feeds under a tab. Other than those minor inconveniences this seems to be a near perfect RSS Reader. I appreciate the lack of ads. Thank you devs for your hard work on this project.
Really like the look & features of this reader, could have been a keeper except for 1 major flaw. The app does have dark & night themes but as soon as you hit the read more button you're greeted with the blinding bright white browser, just doesn't make sense to only have the dark mode for browsing the headlines & not follow through with the internal browser. Shame really, but for now not for me. Will keep an eye on this though.
I like the app, but it needs more customisability. I'd like a setting that allows me to select "reader mode" as the default mode and then if the page can't be viewed like that, either automatically fall back to standard mode, or have a button (placed close to my thumb (bottom right)) that I can tap to revert to standard mode.
Great - simple and effective, I have been using this since Blackberry days and would never change although not working after latest Pixel upgrade but sure that will be sorted soon. The only thing I would like on top is a multi-device sync
So close to what I want! I wish this app could be configured to show the headlines instead of the source as the focus in my list. I like scanning my list for article headlines that interest me... so the source of the article is secondary. Unfortunately the focus in this app on the source of the article makes scanning more difficult. I'm initialing and I'm off again to try to find a replacement for my previous RSS app that doesn't work under Android 12.
Best UI of RSS apps. Personal fault: You can't read any articles in-app like you can on Feedly. It uses an internal browser and loads the page proper with all of its JS, instead of extracting only the text and pictures into RSS Savvy. Also uses a lot of data in loading feeds. Seems to pre-load all feeds immediately, instead of only loading feeds as you want them. Bad architecture.
Really nice so far but I would like it to synchronise between phone and tablet. I have set it up to use same backup of the feeds but it still needs synchronising of reading of articles
Really good RSS app. Like the layout and how easy it is to get up and running. Good amount of options and easy to taylor to your personal needs. Really like the notifications you can set up. Overall for me it's a great app. Just enough information to get the gist of the story.
Pretty good, helpful developer. The URL import feature works really nicely. I wish it could export feeds to a standard format (OMPL I think?) instead of just a custom json format. I also wish it could show the article content embedded in the actual RSS feed. Right now it only seems to show the full web version. This would be nice for reading offline, or for sites that publish full article text in the feed but require a login for the web page.
Best RSS reader I could find. Easy to set up, no registration / signing up for a service. Notifications are very configurable. Being able to open feeds in my browser is very nice, as it has more functions than the built-in browser many rss readers want me to use.
Not bad - main feature is that it displays images in preview. But it always keeps displaying all the feeds, even those already read - the lack of a basic filter for unread messages is a major drawback. Other apps DO have such filters...
I REALLY Loved it! its easy to use, and lite, and fast! ##my ideas for improvement : •Widgets •save images •custom rss icon •magazine tile •share rss including image and short stories, instead of just links. •hide/unhide readed rss #bugs : •when scrolling back to the top, the images keep reloading.
Too bad it only exports to json. I had a hard time transferring it manually to another reader. What about an opml option? Btw, I've migrated to another reader because RSS Savvy doesn't have an ideal theme for me. I always have trouble discerning between read and unread entries when using the dark themes, since the light one makes me teary.
Currently my favorite. Nice and fast, even with lots of feeds. Would like drag 'n' drop to sort/move groups and feeds, and a way to edit feeds' URLs. And please add an "exclude" filter. Else, pretty darned awesome!
A concise and effecient place to catch up on the news, without being overwhelmed. If it would have the ability to add custom feed url, it would be amazing.
absolutely fabulous. allows you to choose the news feeds you want without all the garbage. fantastic for local news and weather warnings if you don't want a buch of apps.
No muss, no fuss. Limited ability to search for rss feeds within the app, but you can "share" links from your web browser to the app to add more feeds easily.
Works as advertised, but the UX is quite poor, especially when managing feeds: there's no way to reorder feeds within a tab, and I can't even copy the URLs to use in a different app.
I'm Expert. Please consider my comment to improve this app. 1. Add option of refreshing the list faster than the current 5 minutes fastest option. The user should be able to choose it in 1 minute or even 5 seconds updating the news. 2. Add option of filtering notified items by AND command to be able to filter news if there are both x and y term in title of news. 3. Add ability to search the Twitter hashtags. This is very important for those who need to be updated as soon as a hashtag is used.
This is it, a great news app / RSS reader without unnecessary registration. Clear and easy to use I already given 5 stars and can't do more but I am so impressed by this developer. I reported a bug and 5 hour later an update with fix was out. See, this is why I rarely give 5 stars reviews, there is always a chance to like something even more.
There's no login feature, so you need to traditionally export and import when say switching to a new phone or reinstalling the app. Otherwise one of the best apps for this kind of thing.
I just switched from Feedly to this, it's awesome! Honestly I am so happy to have found this app after months (or years?) of searching for a decent RSS reader. Thank you Andy mate! 10/10
Simply the best free app for reading the news from RSS feeds. Very convenient and visually pleasing interface and no ads!
It's ok but I wanted to add in news by using keywords to keep up to date on information from Google searches of keywords saved, like Feedly do (but without the hefty subscription), alas, that feature does not exist in this App.
1st one i found that is legit free no ads. barely started using but so far easy 2 use, can add your own feeds and organize them how you wish, and as far as i can tell there is no limit to how many feeds you can add. Pending anything changing i give 5 stars, keep up the good work.
Would give the app 5 stars if there was a way to bulk delete, instead of side swipe. Once you mark a group as read, it should allow you to bulk delete the entire group. Maybe I'm missing something? Thanks for the quick reply, info about long pressing! Great app change review to 5 stars!
Ooo! I think I've finally found a reader I like. I've been using this for a day and already know 😂 The only issue I've seen so far is that when I'm in Dark mode, when you open a full article, it goes into a white screen. Blinding for those of us with bad eyes. If we could set it to open in Reader mode (which is dark) that would be super. Feedback: Pressing the back button on my phone minimizes the app. It's so very annoying. Other than that, so far I'm very happy with this reader.
