RTÉ News Now

App will not open. Tried uninstalling & downloaded it again... still no joy. Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Alot of longterm issues with this app... not responding through notifications, freezing & various different glitches & bugs. Tech guys working on this app need to up their game. Poor effort from RTE.

Cannot open any longer, tried reinstalling on my Galaxy S9 but still cannot get past the blue screen 😫. The started a week or 2 ago, app doesn't work anymore..

Downloaded this ap but it will not open. I have cleated data and cleared cache but it still does not open. Very disappointed

Great news reporting and in-dept analysis. But the App has has a long term bug. As soon as your screen times out or you switch Apps for any reason, the article you were in the middle of goes back to the beginning. This makes the App very frustrating to use. Can you please fix this.

Two updates in the last week and still no notifications working on Samsung S21 Android 12 this app just gradually gets worse.

The best for Irish news but it just doesn't want to open anymore.

Good app just don't get notifications, even though they are set up to do so in my settings..

Whats with the 20 seconds of painful adds before playing a clip. RTE always a painful shower of clowns .

the RTE News Now app is a disaster. It displays the news items really badly on my phone with the headline text and other text overlapping so that I can't read either. Google Chrome displays the page perfectly, but if you have RTE News Now installed, Chrome passes control to it so you can't read the page. I've had to uninstall it.

Can't rotate the app to read landscape.

Used this throughout the day but a new ad has come with a fast moving Christmas gift. It is very hard on the eyes almost to the point of making me dizzy. Have stopped using the app.

Not showing pictures on news items

horrible experience the ads make this un-usable it makes you watch the same ad again and again and again if you stop and try to continue again on the same device. The 'X' on the ads that should close the window are positively disingenuous as they bring you to a web site you did not want to visit. only use in dire circumstances if sky TV failed to record for you.

Not too bad in general but it doesn't let me share the news to WhatsApp contacts. The app has full permission in the settings but still I get the warning "you'll be able to share with people here after you make contact in communication apps". It's the only app that gives me this weird issue.

This app frequently pauses. The VOA app is an excellent one. They repair the problem as soon as it is reported. The RTÈ could follow their example. Moreover, foreign viewers want better international news coverage. Your channel needs to compete on equal footing with channels like the BBC, VOA, NHK WORLD (Japan), Arirang (South Korea), France 24, DW, i24 News, etc., if it desires to expand its viewership among foreigners. The same applies to the RTÈ Radio 1 channel.

Constantly won't open news feeds, ad's play fine first leading you to believe everything is working, then stops completely when it comes to watching news. So annoying, tried uninstalling etc, has no effect ! Seriously needs someone who knows what there doing to fix it once and for all. 😤😤😤

Excelent App. However it keeps crashing lately when I scroll down to end of page. Think its caused by an add as it doesn't happen all the time. Only started happening a few weeks ago.

This was my go to app for irish news . But as of yesterday it keeps crashing. Tried uninstalling and reinstall and still the same problems. Time to give this app the boot . The reason it gets one star is because you cant give 0 stars . Dont waste your time and data. There is plenty of reliable news apps out there . They probably used the tv licence fee to build this tripe of a app. Just as well I don't pay the TV licence and never will .

For the love of all that is holy, please stop sending me news alerts that when I click on them bring me to an article not linked to the alert! I've had it happen twice today only to be linked to same article I've already read with no updates and none of the info in the notification.

Used to work ok and suddenly literally from one minute to the next it stopped working. I tried it all, cleaning cache and such, even uninstall and retry. Nothing works, am very annoyed especially in this time when it's so important to stay up to date with corona

Great app. But I wish you could add a night mode option to have a darker background when reading at night. Also I feel we don't need a news alert notification just for an opinion piece news article as good as it may be. Please just have news alerts for breaking news etc. Thank you

I have used this App for a long time. I would have always rated it very highly in the past. I recently changed my phone and discovered that I can no longer share articles I read over email or WhatsApp. Looks like this feature has been disallowed for new technology. Difficult to understand why. What a shame!

Over half the time I try to open it, it never gets past the blue screen with RTE on it. I get notifications on new stories but when I click them they don't open. Very frustrating

Great app, get instant notifications on what's going on during this weird time we're in. Only issue is the 'Live' tab, the video player doesn't seem to work much at all.

A little buggy (clicking on news notifications doesn't bring you to the right article), but otherwise it's clear and easy to use. There are ads but they aren't too intrusive.

There's nobody reading these reviews and there's no real means to contact developers. The app seems to have a dependency on loading analytics before it will start. Not sure if It's a bug or really bad design. If I want to read the news, I should be able to check a headline without needing to load unrelated resources.

Since last update the app has stopped working (android phone). Anytime I open the app it freezes on blue screen with rte logo. Waiting 5+minutes and it will doesnt change (stuck on boot up logo screen). I've reinstalled twice now, tried adjusting app settings , still nothing.

App design is perfectly good, but I have to give it a low score as notifications don't work. I'm on a Oneplus 7 Pro btw. This is such a vital part of a news app, but whenever it gets fixed, I would score it a lot better.

Up to the minute national and international news at the touch of an app makes it my one stop place to go for all in news related topics. Works perfectly and easy to use straight forward layout.
