This app motivated me to power through and run/walk on days that I had no motivation. It has greatly helped with consistency and my performance. I had an issue with a run that I accidentally stopped before the 30 minute required time and immediately started a new one to add to that time. Initially neither counted for the day so I contacted customer service. They were a great help and fixed the issue within an hour or two. Great app. I look forward to more bets!
I've been using runbet for about 1 year now. The app is simple and easy to use. I use runkeeper to record my runs and I've never had an issue with that interface while I've heard from other runners that Strava can cause you to underperform on the required pacing. I usually average about 6$ winnings and while that's not much money, the thought of losing $40 is the only way I have ever been able to stick with a running plan. I'm glad someone thought of this app, I've been healthier because of it!
The concept is nice but the implementation is irritating. I have it synced with Strava but the time on the app and the time it counts are different. There is no way to tell whether you have run for enough time. Strava records the time elapsed during the run but then allows you to add information at the end and "edit the run". But they also count this into the recorded time. So if you don't hit save right away, the run doesn't count. You won't know this until you try to sync your runs. They tell you that you will probably need to run more than once to get a run that counts. This is stressful and although the app keeps me accountable for my runs, I am looking for something more enjoyable.
I love RunBet for motivation, but the app itself has trouble syncing my runs which makes it annoying to contact support after almost every activity. I wish it was easier and smarter to sync! The other down side is doing a month long bet to only win 49 cents... the amount you win can be a bit disappointing.
Pros: Just finished my 1st 6wk challenge & made $6.46 above my $40 collateral! It really is amazing how much not wanting to lose my $40 kept me running & completing the challenges instead of just dressing for the gym...I actually got there! Cons: I was slightly surprised when my 1st winning bet ended everything temporarily disappears, then takes 2 full days of "clearing" for credits to show in account & be able to register for another challenge. Plus no formal announcement of prize winners why?
Absolute garbage of an app. First experience I had was when it wouldn't let me sign in . And changed my password. Now i joined a run . I paid the money for session. And it didnt work. So now I'm out 40 dollars to this not so good app. And to top it off it says 3 to 5 days to get back to you in the emails. I will leave the review the same, so people can see it. But they did go thru my problem and figure it out and gave me a refund .I will be using the app again. Since we figured out the problem
Sad and disappointed I loved this app. The merging the games one to the way better platform stinks. They don't have as many running games and the fact that they require you to only run outside or inside proves they have no idea where their runners are or care that some can't always run outside. The games need a mix of inside and out options. You try running outside in a snow storm and get back to me on the great design.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS APP. I have successfully completed challenges where over 30 people didn't complete the challenge and made less than $2 due to excessive fees for "administration". They also take AT least 15% of the total pot right off the bat as a service fee. As such you can actually lose money while still completing the challenge if everyone completes it or more than 85% of the people do. TOTAL SCAM.
No longer works. I had the rating at a 5 before when it worked. I miss this app, it have me a lot of motivation and connected to my running apps to make it easier. I wish they would fix it.
I've been using dietbet runbet and way better apps for a long time. I was a bit discouraged at first when I couldn't get a response to fix the sync issue but after a week, they fixed it. Good job Sami
Clean and simple interface which integrates well with Strava and others. Provides a platform for interaction with other players, but does not force the user to create yet another social media persona. The games are easy to understand and join. Their customer service team addressed my one concern promptly. Excellent app.
Love the concept, and love how it keeps me accountable! I had an issue where my runs were not syncing, and the support crew was quick to respond and very helpful. Highly recommend!
4 runs a week!! No games at all with 3 runs or less which is shocking. As a mum of a young baby working full time I cannot run more than 3 days a week so I think it's a massive shame that I can't play with such limited games. There's pushing you hard then there's just pure exclusion of those who get out the door less but still run good distances! Boooo. I thought 3 times a week was good!!!
This is most frustrating app i have used. It will not let me log in- keeps telling me i have to log in with facebook and when i try to log in with facebook it gives me an error message, Then it ask if I want a link to reset sent to my email- when i respond yes it tells me I have to log in with facebook and on and on and on in circles!!. Missed my run this morning because it wont let me log in. I have been running with it for weeks then all of a sudden it starts this nonsense!
This app has gotten me back into loving to run!!! I wish I had known about it sooner! The only thing I dont like is that the week starts on Monday. I would like the weekend broken up instead of it all counting for the end of the week. I love running on weekends but dont want to be last minute getting my weekly runs in.
Like the idea, not a fan of the implementation. I like running lots of miles but fewer days a week (usually on weekends), and none of the challenges they offer fit that profile. Why not create challenges that require running 2 days a week, at least 5 miles per run? Why do they all have to be short runs almost every day of the week?
I just started a runbet and have had nothing but problems so far. My runs aren't being counted, I haven't been notified that they aren't being accepted and customer service has not been much help. I've liked dietbet but runbet has been terrible so far.
Don't bother with this app. They have no integrity. They know that their app is buggy & useless. They know that we invest $40/more, & a person can easily lose their investment because of Runbet's inability to fix a bug. Read the earlier reviews. This company is about as technology savvy & advanced as an 80s IBM computer. They think that they have integrity & are delivering a great product/service. If a car company sold a lemon, knowingly, they must return your funds. They offer a defunct product.
The program made me run more then I usually do but doing the math, i understand it's not about the money, but they keep a nice sum of money after it's all said and done. It almost feels like a scam. Will not be participating in this again for there large pockets.
Good app, but they take 15% of the pot and not 15% of your profit. I was supposed to get a 35$ payout with a 30$ buy-in for running for 4 weeks and they only gave me 1.79$. they take way too much off the top IMO.
I'm not able to log in to the app to view my past runs, thankfully I wrote down the run schedule. Just worried that the runs won't sync and I'll lose my bet.
Editing my review, I have lost 3 games, due to an "electronic bug" either my miledge didn't count at all or it put my run on another day. I have been using Garmin, which works great. I have lost $120 for no reason please do not download.
Helped me start running again and make it a habit. Interesting how powerful the social component is, even when it's virtual. Highly recommended for folks who want to exercise more.
absolutely the best motivation I have ever had to run consistently. the only thing keeping me back is me, and monetizing my effort just works for me. love this app.
The app is very buggy and will not always save your runs. A basic feature they have is the ability to take a screenshot of your treadmill run. The photo doesn't get saved to your camera roll before submitting. When the app crashes, you lose your run. Support says the same stuff over and over and are quite rigid even when the issue is on their end. Their standard response is "just do another run." NBD. This was my third runbet and definitely my last. I'm sure other apps are "way better."
