The app itself is as expected. Easy, user friendly UI. I personally had problems with RuneOS and ended up having to switch to Volumio due to WLAN issues. Volumio is working great for me. I did see that some people were able to use the Rune Audio app with their Volumio server but I did not have the same luck. Nevertheless the app and OS are great. 👍👍
Poor system, poor app. Glad I backed up my pi. Frustrated by the app's erratic behaviour culminating in an android logo, upside down, and a message saying the app needs an active WiFi signal to operate. Somehow it fails to sniff the internet 'active' signal I'm submitting this review by (Which, for the avoidance of any doubt is on the same network). 2* for the hands-off cataloguing of my music libraries though.
Using Nokia 5 oreo and doesn't find my device. Not good. Update : It now works on Nokia 5 Oreo. I didn't notice if an update was applied. I have now changed my rating as it works perfectly for me and happily recommend this app. Update: Having trouble connecting to my Sky Q router. Just shows a android icon in the top left corner.
This is a great app paired with a great server. As a refugee from the SqueezeBox world (I cannot keep up with the rotten perl based server breaking every time the OS is updated) i like what Rune has done with MPD, and the form factor of a Rpi...well bye, Squeeze. I will miss you....but at least MPD based systems don't break everytime someone sneezes.
Great until I changed the up address of the rune box to be a static IP. Have tried uninstalling rebooting rebooting the pi box. I can use it via my browser fine so this is a bad bug in the code i.e. it is storing the original up address of the rune box and reading this when I reinstall the app. Brilliant project and until it stopped working a brilliant app too.. frustrated
Somwhere it needs to be explained to swipe left or right to get to menus. THIS IS NOT obvious to anyone over 25. Please explain this right at the front. Otherwise you get a black screen indicating it can't find the device with no obvious way to do anything.
It's no better than controlling rune audio via the web interface. It actually connects slower than the web app sometimes
Gets stuck with the message rune audio device not found. Swiping left or right no effect. Nonsense app. Android 8
App ran on the first day, now it just shows half an upside down, green android robot in the top left corner of the screen. Disappointed as I had a great use for this app.
works perfectly with new raudio1 version of Rune, must enter players IP address manually, good to go. I control up to 4 players on my network.
Just OK because as others wrote - you dont know to manually add and where that is because its a swipe.
Works fine with my Mi A2 Lite on Android 10 and my Lenovo tablet on Android 6. Very satisfied with it so far.
I am running mpd android on mobile phone can i use rune audio remote control to control mpd android.
I'm using it with Rune 0.5... This definitely deserves at least my humble 5$ donation, thanks guys!
App refreshes everytime I try to scroll down when navigating. I have to use the scroll tab on the side in order to scroll downward. Don't know if this is an isolated issue or anyone else has encountered the same issue. Would of given a perfect rating if it wasn't for the scrolling problem.
I am used to being able to control all of my multimedia apps from the lock screen. It is really useful to be able to pause music really quickly, without having to unlock the phone first. The usefulness of this app over the web version doesn't live up to its potential.
This on S7 edge. This is known issue on Rune forum. Why not fix it? Easy fix go to router settings and reserve a fixed ip against the Rune Raspi's MAC. Then save that ip on homescreen as a shortcut. Then uninstall the useless app. But if it's so easy to fix why can't the app developer allow this kind of tweaking from within the app? Instead it suggests running discover again and again. Rune itself gives a lovely sound. Much better audo than my usual WDTV player
first time I tried it my speakers almost blew up. now that my system is set up this app seems more robust. my biggest wish would be to have the volume dial at the top. I rarely scroll through a song, but regularly change volume. hardware volume buttons is a nice touch though.
This app is not the best one, but project has so much power it's jus like a dream came true. BTW, could not find a device automatically, but is easily visible with fing. Good luck devs
I have been spending time with setting up a wireless system with I2S sound card attached to a Raspberry Pi3. Still ironing out the bugs.
Cool app! Please fix back button and pull-down behavior. Right now the back button exits and the pull-down refreshes the whole web content, losing the library page that I'm currently browsing.
Finds but can't connect to. Green android char hangs upside down from top left corner. No mobile connection. Web browser works but destroys point of me using their software
It says for phones, but works really well with my tablet. It puts time, artwork and volume on the one tablet screen which is nice.
The application repeatedly starts with black screen and Android robot icon in the top left corner. Only reinstalling or removing app data helps.
Fast and easy to use, found my Raspberry Pi straight away. Allows the full set of options from the full web version in a mobile friendly view and looks great as well!
Simple solution to my flac files being played through high quality stereo. Thank you whomever developed this.
Discovery does not work and locks the interface, so you can't add manually as the docs and the support suggests. Maybe is something only for older android, but on android 6 is 100% useless. Typical example of how not to test an app.
Despite multiple attempts the server was never detected. Motorola G3.
Performance is no better than pinning a browser page to the start window. The swiping to find the player is quite confusing especially as the web viewer doesn't need it. The worst is that the "android back arrow" closes the app instead of the action performed by clicking the back arrow on top of the page, which would've probably been the only difference between this and using chrome and worth 5* on its own. Alas...
