after using this app for years without a glitch, after the new update if my screen locks the app turns off automatically in the middle of my run, when reopening the app it so to speak connects back to your current run, but it takes the shortest route so at the end of the run I'm missing a big chunk of it and the stats are wrong because of that, but the most annoying part is having to deal with reopening app while running. also connection issues, fix it....
Bait and switch. I bought this app because it is the only one I found that does both time and distance based intervals. After a few weeks of use they changed the app so that setting intervals requires a paid subscription. That would be fine for a free app, but this app already costs a fortune by app standards ($5).
Since last update of the app, the activity stops automatically after 30 sec on my ZTE Axon 7, although I have deactivated all power management features in android system. I didn't updated the OS, so there is definitively something broken in the app. It also often says that it loose GPS signal, whereas other apps have perfect GPS signal in the same place. The app probably read DOP (dilution of precision)signal the wrong way around (BTW, small number = good signal). It became unsuable, please fix ASAP!!! It was working great before...
Crashes more than every second run. It just shuts down without notifying me. After 10 minutes without voice notification I have to stop running to check what's going on and then restart the app. It offers the option to restore time and distance but obviously that's not very accurate unless your route is a straight line. Super disappointing, especially as this is one of the few paid apps I'm using...
I love this app but one thing drives me crazy. I set it to display distance at the top while I'm running and it always goes back to displaying pace. Distance is really small and difficult to see. Wish it would save my display settings!
i really used to love this app and I've been using it for years. lately, however, the gps does not function anymore. i can't see my progress anymore as all I get is "0.00 kilometers". i did not change the route I'm running and the gps on my phone works perfectly fine with every other app. it's super super disappointing and i would highly appreciate if you could fix that or tell me what to do.
First of all, Runtastic used to be a great app that I loved to use over the years. But now they changed their price policy and moved many of the features to the "Premium Membership" (to be paid monthly). Following features are missing in the Pro-version now: Dehydration - needs Premium Maximum elevation - needs Premium Challenge your own activity - needs Premium Auto pause activity - needs Premium It's a shame, because back in time I decided to pay for the Pro-version because I was willing to spend a certain amount of money exactly for those features. Now they cut those off. For this price policy I cut off all of their stars in the rating. If they had invented new features which they made exclusively for Premium, I would accept that, but just moving well proven old features to a new profit-system, that's not the nice way. When you decide to buy a certain set of features for a certain price, you expect to get what you paid for. Therefore I would now expect an upgrade to Premium.
Now it's marked as 'No longer available'. But I think I found it's replacement: "adidas Running App by Runtastic - Running Tracker". I was frustrated that I bought the pro version of the app and now they only offer subscriptions. But it looks like my account was given pro level access. Very pleased about that.
Used to be great to use the app to log exercise then look at advanced stats on the website. Now that feature has gone. I'm off to another platform now. Very disappointed. Glad I didn't shell out for premium as I was about to. As for your reply, the link still doesn't resolve the issues that are now missing from runtastic.
I have used Runtastic on my phone for 5 years now, and it has always worked really well. I'm so dissapointed that it will not work on my Fossil Q watch, despite that it is supposed to be compatible with WearOS. Although support has returned my emails promptly, the suggestions have not worked. Great app if you're taking along your phone, so far a bust on the watch.
Great app for runners i use this, MapMyRun and Fitbit, but always come back to Runtastic. i find that it is the simplest and yet most comprehensive app. It's not perfect ... sometimes it struggles with GPS more than other apps. And I can't figure out how to change from miles to kilometers. Still, it's the best that I've used.
I'm a 5 year user of this app. I've been there for all the updates, and they are almost universally improvements. It's a simple, reliable app that I've used on a few different phones with many different headphones in different parts of different countries. Works amazingly well
Consider this a warning not to sign up for paid subscription. I have made 3 attempts to cancel via their website and they claim they will send you a link to cancel. I have yet to get that email and yes I checked junk mail. All I have received is an auto reply with instructions on how to submit for that same email that I never get. You cant cancel on play store as well. Dont give them access to your money. I am contacting credit card company to get them to reject further withdrawals from this dishonest scam of a company.
Use to love this app but, even more so that it synced with my Garmin watch. However, It no longer does this, I've messaged then and sent feedback with no response and the issue continues. Shame really. Now there is no longer a website to use. Also unable to connect Google account. This app just continues to go down hill. That's everything you get for being a Premium user
Overall it's a great app.. I would only add the ability for the app to lap your time, for example once you finish a 5K Run. It tells you workout done but, the timer keeps going without you knowing at what exact time you finished your goal to the exact second. For that I give it 4 out 5
#Update: -2 stars because it always asks to "subscribe" to Premium. I do understand that adidas wants money. But I paid 5€ for Runtastic Pro. So, it shouldn't be notoriously asking ! Very nice app! Used it for several years until I switched to Garmin (because I didn't want to always carry my phone for runs). Still.... It's perfect, especially the leaderboard is fun
Don't bother anymore. Been using this app for years and I liked it at first. Worked well, had good features. It started out ad free or at least minimal ads, now it spams me with upgrading to Premium. They add features that are rarely useful but cause app issues but I could go onto the website for a more robust experience. Not anymore! Used to be able to create and find new routes on the website. Only available on mobile yet the app crashes whenever I try to find a new route. Look elsewhere. Response to developer: Maybe the "experience will be worth it" one day but perhaps ensure that features worked properly on mobile before disabling web would have ensure my experience was great now. Too late; I've uninstalled.
