Freezes, stops, frequent problems. I've used this app for about a year (Feb 2018-Mar 2019) on the same Android 8 phone. The first 10 months were okay. Not perfect but tolerable. The last 3 months have seen much more frequent problems with downloading content and playing without the app shutting off. Seems to be getting worse. Now it's not just shutting down, it won't let me even download the podcasts. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, and written Rush's tech support. Will update if I hear back
As so many others have stated, the app has problems on Android devices. The content is great! The function of the app needs work. When the screen is off, the streaming audio sometimes lasts maybe another 5 min before stopping. But, stop it does. It is very inconvenient and annoying to turn on the screen all the time. Also a big waste of battery. The app may be great on iPhone, but it is average at best on Android.
Big Rush fan and have been listening for the last 10 years. Work schedule changed and no longer able to hear the show on the radio. Got the app and signed up for the membership about 6 weeks ago. The app is easy to use and looks very high tech. However the app has ended/stopped working at least 200 times. Have to close and restart the app 10-15 times while playing one 3 hour show. I've reported the issue over and over, but the problem is getting worse not better. Going to give them a few more weeks, if it's not fixed soon, I cancel my membership and delete the app. Would not recommend this app UNTIL or UNLESS this issue is fixed.
Updated review. I first gave this 1 star because it did not work for android. I'm happy to say that the issues have been resolved. The audio will now continue playing even after screen time out and in the background while using other apps. 4 stars because improvements could be made. 1) Change the background so that the audio time can be read. 2) If the app is closed while listening/watching, make it so that you can start audio/video where you left off. Thanks for the great 24/7 app, Rush!
Love Rush, but the app has become utterly useless for Android. Tech service was helpful, but ultimately said developers are working on a fix. That seems to have been the story for some time. I miss 95% of his shows now because I can't use this app. I used to be able to download podcasts and when that stopped working a few months ago, I switched to streaming. Now that only plays for 20 seconds or so without crashing. My subscription renews this month & I just cancelled.
I give 3 stars because I have been a rush listener since 1988, but this app constantly stops while I am listening, and I have to restart the audio sometimes losing the spot I was at. Very big turn off for me. I just started with the free trial, but if it continues to do this, i will very likely not continue with the subscription, unless I can find a way for it to be less annoying and more stable.
Keeps shutting down. It's worse if you're streaming it through the app. But even if you download the podcasts, the app still shuts down periodically, though not as often. Needs work. I haven't tried to see if I could play the podcasts on another podcast app, but if not, it would be nice if I could play them through my chosen podcast app.
Crashes after 15-20 minutes everyday. My Android phone cannot stream the show without having to close app and reopen at least 4 or 5 times. Rush is so good I put up with it to hear him. Downloaded podcasts are slightly better, but never get through one hour without it locking up. Also, won't remember my log in credentials for more than a week or two, then I have to reset.
Rush constantly talks about his latest and greatest app, yet it's always for Apple. Meanwhile the Android version constantly crashes. I used it in my 2015 mustang and it actually shut down the entire display system in the car. I had to go to a Ford dealership to have it reset. I couldn't even turn the air conditioning on because of this app. Verified by Ford that this was the issue. Two stars because I can at least download the latest content. I just have to play it through another media steamer
Switched to the 24/7 app after switching from using iPhone to Android. I really miss the way the iPhone seamlessly downloaded and played my podcasts! This app is always shutting down for no reason! When I open it back up I have to log in again!! What a PIA!! If it does start playing again after reconnecting in the truck it doesn't remember where it left off and replays the whole hour again!!
Piece of junk app, love listening to Rush but the audio will randomly pause several times during each listening session and I often can't get it restarted without closing the app and re-opening it. I'm listening to him at work, so I can't be fiddling with my phone all the time trying to make this piece of junk app work. Will try using a browser, hopefully this works. If it doesn't I won't be subscribing to Rush 24/7 any longer.
I love Rush, but hate his app. I cannot stream audio without having the app open on my screen. If my screen goes black, the audio stops. This has gone on for so long, the top of the Rush page is burned into the screen of my phone. 8 days ago, I lost the ability to stream audio all together. I emailed customer support, but have yet to hear anything back from them. I'm totally dissatisfied.
UPDATE: I'm so HAPPY! I no longer have ANY problems w/the app since I replaced my phone w/a different Note 8. The problems were apparently due to settings on my previous phone, NOT the app. Initial Review: I'm adddicted to listening to Rush but this app is HORRIBLE It frequently stops or crashes. It's been going on for several years regardless of what version of Android I'm using, the model cell phone I'm using (currently Note8), or past versions of the app. I really hope they fix this problem.
This app is a massive disappointment. I've been a dittohead for almost 30 years, and I love Rush's show. This app, however, is nearly unusable. I'm running Android (8.0). In scrolling through these reviews, it seems that the problems I am having (app crashing during playback, etc) are widespread. I have been in contact with the developers, and the "support" I have been given is equally worthless (clear the cache, uninstall, reinstall). Very disappointing.
