Was once a loyal member since Feb 2019 of this ride hailing app. At the start, prices were affordable, they don't bombard you with ads. It was easy to find a match too. All is good. But nowadays, it's going downhill. Fast. Fares that are "low", never get a match. And with the $4.30 implemented, I believe many users will just boycott this app and use something much user-friendly. Where if you accidentally top up extra, you have the option to transfer it back to your bank.
I wrote a review earlier and realized it wasn't there anymore. I feedback on the driver that make us wait for 15 mins. Msg the driver and call the driver a few times he did not ans my call. And I have to cancel the trip but I was charge $4.30 . I filed a feedback on driver and the ticket was closed with no feedback to me. I send and email and there is only standard reply, I left my mobile number and nobody call me back. I am unsatisfied with this service.
Have been using Ryde for a while until now. The unlimited $5 referral credit did not work for my friend and I (but it worked for my another friend) and when I emailed and liaised with them, they did not compensate the credits for both sides and afterwhich did not reply to my emails and messages. I have uninstalled and will use other better platforms.
One of the lousiest app ever used. Lousy policies apply to all users. Users get penalised unnecessarily after driver cancels on them. They give you a pathetic voucher usable only within their app for your cash. Cash wrongly charged due to their poor service & even poorer policies. Worst, support penalise you for a poor in-app experience. So best is to not even bother with support as its as good as wasting your time. Even better, avoid this app entirely. No surprise theres so many bad reviews.
Higher prices and worse availability than the competitors, plus I get spammed with notifications about NFTs and other garbage all the time. Avoid.
The rydecoins concept is to scam you of money. I had $4 left and had to top up to book my ride. Ended up they never ever got me a match. And the money cannot be withdrawn and have an expiry to them. So they are totally scamming your money.
Tried to book a rydetaxi but can't change payment from cash to card, kept prompting to pay with rydepay but after recharging the rydecoins, I was still unable to switch the payment from cash to rydepay or any of my cards. So basically recharged $25 for nothing
Getting worst and worst. And hard to find driver but your cancellation fee $4.50 to $5.50 u must be crazy. Close your ryde app no need already. Slowy no one will use ryde. If driver ask to cancel how, we must cancel and pay the fee?
The app works, but it's really spammy. Throws a lot of notifications about promotions and points at you. Seems I can't switch off the spammy ones selectively while keeping the important ones up. All I want is to get a taxi, not to play your silly games.
As what other users described, the fares are usually much more expensive than other competing ride hail service. Furthermore, you will be bombarded with incessant push notification with no option to mute or turn off notifications. Uninstalled.
Not sure why people are complaining about the fare. As consumers, we have all the right to compare fares with other plaforms and go with the more affordable one. Likewise, the platform has the right to adjust the fares to keep themselves competitive. It's unfair for them especially they are still giving promotions such 100% cashback. I would strong encourage to people to review the app based on the UI/UX to give a more accurate rating. My ride booking experience been pleasant, minimal issue.
Their RydeHELP was quite useless. I sent a request to search for my lost item on one of their rides and they closed the ticket without giving me an answer or proper reply except an automated one. I resent multiple requests indicating to them to stop closing my ticket and let me know if they have found my lost item or not, even if they couldnt find it, just let me know. Nevertheless, they closed my ticket once again. RydeHELP is as good as useless in my opion. Only a BOT is there to reply you.
They'll start cheap, then Hassel you to pay surge prices that are way above their competitors. You'll wait 10mins for the booking to expire before asked to rebook. The new price will now be exorbitant. Support is non-existent, and so should this company.
If I could give zero stars, I would. The system automatically deducted $3 tips when I didn't even click anything. When I questioned them, they had the audacity to push the blame back to them. When I said there was no way I could have tipped a driver for a ride which I took 2 months ago, they went radio-silent. It is no longer about the money; it is their utter lack of integrity that made me decide to boycott them for good.
I was charged cancellation fee after waiting for driver that DID NOT TURN UP FOR 20MINS! Driver remain uncontactable via msg or call.app is so lagging and response from support team is slower than a snail! You all should be ashamed because this is clearly not a first for this company.
No call system and cant ask anyone for help. System has a "boost" priority system that increases the price drastically but does absolutely nothing and there is no data about effective the boost is.
Looks like I'm just another user unable to use the app after scrolling through reviews. Ryde app prompt update notification, however there is no more updates available on playstore. Sent feedback to CS but was told to check ryde driver app?? I'm not even a driver to begin with, only using the hailing app. Then I'm told to logout and login? What makes you think I wouldnt uninstall then reinstall before lodging the feedback?
Ever since they introduced the penalty payment of $4.30, it has been just a great disappointment. I have been using RYDE since the beginning and have always encouraged my friends to use it too. But I was charged unfairly for a penalty when the driver couldn't find me and your "ryde help" wasn't fair at all. I am okay to be penalised if it truly was my fault but sadly to say, it's just a scam to earn more money from customers. Me and my friends will boycott ryde from today onwards!
App lags and there is not enough drivers. Their GPS is not accurate! Randomly get assigned cars far away or the app lags so badly that u don't even know if the car has arrived or not.
Rydepet driver don't want to fetch pet and ask rider to cancel the ride and rider got charged for cancellation fee, ryde doesn't refund the money back to card and but give the refund in their rydecoins. Will not use ryde ever again lousy company and their ride is so much more expensive than other app. Anyhow charge rider cancellation fee when it is driver fault. Don't want to fetch pet then don't activate the service, driver purposely wait at other place for time up to collect cancellation fee
My experience has been generally good. The wait is normally longer, the response sometimes is uncertain -sometimes keeps searching and once while my booking was still pending confirmation, I got a call from a driver asking me where to reach! The app interface is irritating - needs you to update each time, doesn't allow you to book a new ride unless you've rated your previous ride - which is ridiculous! Bottomline - in a hurry, "grab" a cab, if in leisure, get a "ryde"!
Too many ads notifications and pushing for subscription, higher fares than the rest
It is a fresh app so I won't give an immediate 5 star rating. Everything seems fine so far. There's definitely room for improvements to be more user friendly but it's still good to begin with. Love the feature whereby you can choose the driver (whom drived you before), thumbs up to that. My best suggestion for now is to come up with a loyalty programme. If there's an initiation for it, I will give a 4 star rating..
First time using this app. I booked a trip show 3 minutes arriving. But i waited almost 30 minutes! Yet no car come pick up, i called driver 3 times but hang up my call I was force to cancel the trip and pay for cancellation fees. It is such a horrible experience
