The app was cool, back when I first used it in 2018, I had no problems. I recently reinstalled and have tried several times to reserve a vehicle, but none of the owners respond to the booking and it is cancelled. I am not sure why I am not getting any response for any of the vehicles I am trying to rent. I also am not able to update my driver's license as it has expired since I signed up with the app.
The worst car app ever STOP PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY I REPEAT DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! I booked a car thinking I was approved. They billed me for a week and when it was time for me to pick the car up I was told I wasn't approved it had to submit additional information only to find out 2 hours prior to pick up I wouldn't be able to pick up the car ruined my daughter's birthday 😢
Rydecars has done a good job of generating leads and connecting them to car owners. However both the website and app are very buggy and have UI shortcomings. Customer support for hosts is quite delayed.
Updatd review (Sept '20) — I'm officially writing this platform off as ABANDONWARE; an owner I personally know from other platforms is quite upset that his vehicles are still showing on the front page of the RYDE website, when he apparently deleted his acct last year ಠ︵ಠ The RYDE website (and by extension, this glorified web browser of an app) has been broken for at least 6 months now — most significant issue s the complete inability to search as the location field accepts no inputs (???)
App sucks you never know if your booking has gone through. Won't let you put a destination. Needs to be fixed, and I never get a response from a renter.
Do not use this company I tried to rent a car got a confirmation to pick up keys and my money was withdrawn from my account when I arrived at the address no one answered called company and all calls were forwarded to voicemail. It's Thanksgiving I now have no car and no money!! I am reporting them to better business bureau..
DO NOT BUY A GIFT CARD FROM THEM THEY ARE A RIPOFF!!!!!! DO not waste your time or money with this app they're horrible I bought a $200 gift card that is useless they did not stipulate certain guidelines that has to be met so basically the gift card is useless and they refuse refund my money.!!!!! They have the worst customer service.
Search boxes broken and keeps telling you to set a location so you can't actually search. Really frustrating.
Each time I get to list my car I can input any information. It keeps saying I dont have the fields populated and I do. Dev's should try listing a vehicle while using a S8 emulator.
I posted awhile back how i loved ryde & it was efficent. Now its like the app doesnt exist for iphones and i cant even get into on my android. I cant rent cars, search cities or nothing.idk what happened in the last couple of months but ryde has gone down & this was one of my favorites car apps. Ryde needs to get it together
I love ride. Its very efficient and cars are great. Only problem is app doesnt show messages in timely manner. But besides that i love it.i need ride to come to las Vegas next.
Made 5 reservations they all were cancelled took two buses to get to the area out my way and was stuck on that area had a long walking distance and found out the car was cancelled didnt make back home until hours later.
Honestly I saw the bad reviews and at first didnt believe it. But after reserving 2 seperate cars and no response I realized it's a waste of time
Seems like a nice app but you have to verify your phone number and it keeps alerting me that i have to enter a valid number. It is a valid phone number
so far its a bad deal. i rented a car on the 3rd and was never contacted to find out im being charged for the car for 3 days.. 3 DAYS!!??? THE OWNER NEVER CONTACTED ME MUCH LESS NEVER RESPONDED WITHIN THE TIME FRAME. IT WAS INITIALLY RENTED FOR 5AM AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT SHOWS 10PM. I DONT FEEL I SHOULD BE CHARGED FOR THIS MISHAP OF A BLUNDER. IT SHOWS THE OWNER JO CANCELLED AND YET I CANT RENT ANOTHER VEHICLE BECAUSE WHY??? MY WHE 4TH OF JULY IS RUINED BECAUSE OF THIS GUY AND APP. BOOOO
This company is a total scam and their support is a joke im still waiting on my deposit from 3 months ago to be returned. Ive called and emailed numerous times to get nowhere they have the same guy answering the phone who is absolutely no help and has no supervisor they said they have the highest management on the issue but they arent doing anything to help they are thieves for sure. DONT USE THIS APP
Worst app, no customer service, spent more than a month trying to list my car, definitely not recommended!! Get Around and this app are a joke.
Service is convient and renting wasnt at all difficult or time consuming. Looking forward to all renting again.
Only issues I wait and wait and wait nothing loads I know it is not my connection trying getting the app thru the Google play store again nothing loads
Horrible customer service, they don't respond on weekends. Worst experience ever. Allowed me to use my Facebook account, but can't adjust my name to my proper name.
Says my phone number is invalid when I try to verify it. I've emailed customer service and no response. Deleting...
Horrible App. Downloaded tried to use it, laggy. Not sure if reservations are going through.
Avoid at all costs. Ryde ruined our trip and so did 3 owners. They cancelled the reservations after accepting them. After that, nobody had an excuse or explanation. All three owners ghosted me. I'm a new renter that has never rented before. My mom has been a customer since last summer and had a 5 star rating and was treated the same way. Smh
This company filed a bankruptcy and the cars are all outdated list, and the owner doesn't exist anymore. This company doesn't exist.
Easy to use and the delivery service makes it so convenient.

Absolutely terrible you can't actually search any city or state or airport you can only use the ones that they provide in the app. And if you try to search any city Even the ones that they provide won't pop up. you have to click on the ones that they provide their search bars completely broken. So unless you're looking for Las Vegas Miami or San Francisco the app is pointless and does not work properly. Couldn't view Nashville Tennessee to see if there were any available cars.
