I redeemed $25 for Amazon! It was super easy and added instantly to my Amazon account! If you don't do anything except for unlocking your phone it will take a little while to get enough points to cash out for something. But they provide so many opportunities to earn points that you can build up points quite quickly! Honestly I love this app! I have earned so many gift card so far!
Video adds have ruined the app. Any time I open my phone now, if I am listening to Spotify or something in the background, it will force the music to pause to prioritize the ad, even though the ad is muted. Totally ruined the experience for me. If there was a way to block video ads or they can find a way to fix this that would be great, but in the meantime I am muting the app and forced to lose out on points.
I've used s'more since 2018. Used to be really simple, and relatively unobtrusive it's gotten a bit more annoying lately, but the last 2 updates have completely messed it up. The swipe up to unlock got moved up on the screen. It was inconvenient, but I got used to it. Then I updated it today, and now when you unlock your phone, the screen goes black for about 5 seconds before opening, and sometimes just opens the s'more app instead of whatever app you were on previously. I'm getting fed up.
I've been using this app for a long time now and I usually love it. You get 10c/ day for doing nothing. However, after the most recent update, they added video ads to the lockscreen display, which disrupt my music that I play while I'm working or driving. It also drains my battery faster when I am idle, too. Please take the video ads out. I love this app, but the videos are inconvenient and may cause me to uninstall😕
The last update ruined this app. Have been using this app for a few years, but the recent update has made it so the ads that play on the screen force my music and audiobooks to stop so the ads can play. It happens everytime I shut my phone screen down, which means I have to leave my phone screen on all the time, which drains my battery. I will be deleting
This was amazing. Key word being was. New update added video ads on lockscreen, which pause any media playing, such as music. My lock screen turns on a lot, and I love listening to music, so it no longer works for me. There is no way to turn them off, I couldn't find one at least, so I'll have to get rid of the app.
Used to be a great app that I used to recommend to friends. Unfortunately, now they have switched to video ads, some of which are highly inappropriate and embarrassing to open my phone to. Not only that, but if I am listening to music and turn my phone on, the ads mute my music. And, because of the video ads, it drains my battery much quicker. Will be uninstalling and would no longer recommend.
New update is terrible!!! The lockscreen now plays videos back to back. There is no way i could deal with that for any amount of money 🤣. I was able to snooze the videos using the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner. You will lose the 10 daily points, however you can gain points watching videos and other ways. Id much rather give up the 10 points than be annoyed with back to back videos 24/7 😆.
Over the years this app has become terrible. I love the rewards I receive after a few months of use, but some of the ads are ridiculous. When I'm listening to music and my phone is locked I will recieve a ad and stops my music. On top of that, in the middle of the night my phone wakes up and lights up my room with a ad. After a few weeks of use I have made the decision or close my account and uninstall. Hope this helps all new users.
I occasionally download games to make extra points or watch a few ads. But even if i don't bother i get 10 points a day just for opening my phone, basically 10 cents a day. I wait and redeem it for Amazon gift cards when i get to 10 dollars. Overall easy to use and the app works well. My only complaint is that some of the games have deadlines to earn the points that are unrealistic and i couldn't actually get the requirements done in time. Can't complain much about free cash though.
Drains battery and interrupts music since new update. Loved it until I'm now getting video ads constantly after the new update. This is interrupting my music when my phone locks and the screen turns back on. Interrupting my daily idle tasks is a huge deal to me. Also working out as every time open my phone to skip a song it pauses to play the ad. Last time I was able to say no ads like this or no videos or something. I will be getting rid of this week after redeeming for this reason.
Original 5 star review: extremely easy and is a stable source of passive income. 10 points/cents a day just for using the phone's lock screen which displays ads. it adds up to $3+ a month, not a lot but it's literally for doing nothing. you can get more points by inviting friends, watching videos, etc. Update: 2 stars at best. After using the app for years, it has recently gone downhill - after being acquired by another company. It now locks/crashes phone, sporadically rewards you, invasive ads.
Great app. Dont get me wrong. The daily points are amazing and they do add up after awhile but this recent update is prob going to be what causes me to delete. Video ads on the homescreen are fine but it does nothing but lag out the opening of my device and cause me to end up opening the app store page(which lags even more). Get rid of video ads on homescreen and go back to still frame images!
This is similar to the experience of the others with the late March update. Video ads randomly pauses any background music if you just wake up the phone from sleep. Then unlocking it can sometimes take you to an annoying full screen video ad(that sometimes doesn't even play). It was already annoying before when it might open a webpage, but this full screen ad is ridiculous. However, I will say that this app does work and will pay out if you're willing to endure these mounting inconveniences.
Edit: No way. These new video ads are ridiculous. They stop my media from playing and drain my battery. That needs to stop. Rewards are great but some ads are intrusive or inappropriate. My screen will randomly light up and display some inappropriate content that is unrelated to my browsing habits. Afterward the screen will not dim on its own. Weather needs to be configurable.
This app used to be wonderful, but the video adds have all but ruined this normally unobtrusive app. My phone now is more difficult to unlock, sometimes wakes up from sleep mode on its own, used more battery life, pauses my music and makes pandora misbehave. Can it be possible to revert back to picture adds and get rid of the video adds? I've read multiple recent reviews and it seems that there are many people with the same issues I have. I have already contacted support for this issue.
This app does exactly what it tells you and earning points is easy. Their game choices are enjoyable and fun. I've been with them for over 2 years now and have had only one problem which was quickly fixed. After an email they replied within minutes and was able to solve my problem. So to everyone who wants to try it out. Give it a try. I definately would rate it higher if I could.
*Update* It has been months since I contrcted the support email and have still not gotten a response. This app is a complete waste on space and a complete scam. I had to get a new phone. My current smore app will not connect with my old account. There is no help service on the app. I also haven't gotten the last gift card I traded my points for. I'm starting to feel like this is a waste of my time.
i enjoyed skimming through the app playing touch n go with the different ways to earn then it came time to download and play games. My favorite. I love the challenges of learning and playing a new game. I gave it a try even though the earning amount was a little low. After I tested it and took into consideration how much memory space these game apps take and how long it would take to earn enough gift cards from Walmart and Amazon to do any real shopping I decided I'd rather not sacrifice it.
Update 4/2/22. Most of the problems have been fixed including the battery drain. The only issue now that I've noticed is it will show you videos available to watch. 20 videos later your points never go up. Possibly a video point max per day that's not advised. Keep checking your points if you're doing videos to make sure you're not wasting your time. App definitely pays and is an easy few bucks per month.
The last few updates really made this app a mess. The video ads and opening the app up on unlock at random intervals. The video ads drain tons of battery. Everyone was ok with static ads, keep those. If you want to make video ads, add a setting for it and pay double, I am certain you are being payed more to play them. As soon as I cash out next, if this isn't fixed, I'm leaving as well.
This used to be a great app but they started using video ads recently and it has ruined the experience and the app. The video ads will pause music on Spotify, videos on YouTube or Facebook to give priority to smores and their ads, even if you have the ad on mute. The app also has been turning my screen on when my phone is just sitting on the table or couch to play an ad, especially video ads. This has been killing my battery. I used to love this app but thinking of uninstalling
It was so good until the offer page changed and my progress completing a multilevel offer was completely lost. I was about to earn a ton of points. I even made in app purchases because I was enjoying the game as well. Unless this issue is resolved I highly recommend you don't download!!!
The app was really good in the beginning but it keeps crashing my phone abruptly. Everything is updated to its latest firmware. But this is too much, I've had an important phone call and the app crashed, then my phone nearly bricked itself. I also notice this app is now showing full blown video ads when I try to unlock my phone. I'm done with Smore until you fix this problem. And why is this app file size bigger than it has to be? I wanna update my review again since I've kept this app for almost 4 years now. There are TONS of gift cards to redeem and lots of ways to get points, from taking surveys to just simply turning on your phone once a day to see the ad on the lockscreen. This app is decently reliable, I've made real Amazon purchases and bought food out in almost 40 dollars in gift card money. There are a few bugs but nothing support can't handle if given time.
This app was fine up until the update. Now the ads on my lock screen are all videos and interrupt my music/whatever I'm listening to. There's no contact information I can find in the app if I need help which makes this all 100% more frustrating. If the problem persists I'm deleting the app, and I definitely wouldn't recommend downloading.
You do actually get paid from this app and it does not take them very long for you to get emailed your gift card! The first time you get sent a gift card it takes a little time but after that you get it almost immediately! It takes along time to get your points up but it is worth it. Every little bit helps. It would be alot nicer if they had a better way to get points or they paid more the the things you do.
