We have thought of everything! Did you know that once any info is written into the memory and then deleted or even overwritten with another file, it is still possible to restore it? SafeCamera never writes your unencrypted photos into your phone’s SD card. The photo is encrypted on the fly right after it is taken and only then is written to your SD card.
Do you have files that you would like to keep safe? Just import them into Safe Camera’s domain and they will be safe. Although SafeCamera is mainly for handling photos, you can also import and keep safely any other file types.
Want to share an encrypted photo with someone? Send the photo(s) either encrypted with your current password or re-encrypted with a different password. Then just tell the encryption password to your friend and he/she will be able to import it into his/her copy of SafeCamera.
SafeCamera uses AES 256 bit encryption, which is approved by NSA for keeping top secret files. SafeCamera derives encryption/decryption key using PBKDF#2 algorithm using more than 2000 iterations.

I used to love this app. Like really love it. But since a few Android updates back I only get "Import failed! Either incorrect password has been entered or the file is corrupt" error when trying to open a shared file and "Unable to share" error when I want to share a file.
Great concept. I believe it is missing a critical feature; the ability to take a photo quickly without needing to fumble through a password. Yes, encrypt the photos. No, don't require a password before every attempt to take a photo.
Buy the Pro, it's the quality I/U want securing your pics/files! A solid 5 stars using Note8; Design, Fast, Stable, Reliable, & Versatile! Only a cross-platform issue; Win Desktop ver. isn't decrypting Android encrypted pics/files. Android ver. has been working flawlessly, very happy with price and performance.
Big update is coming in less than a month the developer said.. Almost 2 months ago.. Lol.. No option to change your password once it is set.. Shouldn't have to type in pass to add photos.. No sense to it.. Doubt someone is gonna break into your phone and start adding pics to an application they don't even know about.. Ha ha..
Deceptive. I wanted an encryption app to safeguard medical records on my phone. It claims no ads. When you get past the permissions screen and set up a password, you're suddenly told it's a trial version and will contain ads.
The exported encrypted .sc files are useless. Importing them in another mobile always gives incorrect password or corrupt file error. Cannot share encrypted pics with this app. Useful only as a local storage vault.
Great app but has some bugs and missing some important features, not a huge deal if the app was still suported but the lastest version was released over 3 years ago... Dev has mentioned a big update is comming but no clue when... would buy Pro otherwise...
My reply after Dev reply: Android 10 introduced secure camera framework to transfer camera captured data directly without writing to storage. I've looked at the new app. But I'm not a fan of privacy apps with network permissions. Complete offline solution is one of the MAIN reason I've chosen this app. @Alex: Now that Android 10 supports Secure camera framework, can you implement it to support Pixel camera? I'll be the first buyer 😁 also last updated in 2016. does that mean, there no bugs?
Shutter sound is loud, slow and and annoying. It cannot be changed and the 'disable shutter sound' option doesn't work.
works well happy with it. would not open after first set of pictures. had to power restart phone and it has worked fine ever since.
Brilliant. Forgot I had purchased the "pro" version of this until I looked under the purchases section of the appstore. Glad I did, as its brilliant and also found out there is a desktop version too - top work!
Used to work great. Getting main folder dont exist error like a lot of others. And no dont want to use cloud based new app. Paid for this one already. not paying monthly for new one.. Maybe you broke this one on purpose? Will have to find alternative.
This app has stopped working. It's says "Main folder does not exist or is not writeable" after uninstall and reinstall.
FEATURE REQUEST: labels for photos. 160 charracters would be enough. Text string value attached below each image.
Great App. Been buggy lately but developer says update is coming so this will keep my review at 4 stars. Quick question: Desktop version is open source, is the Android version open source also?
Great camera app would be nice if you can add video record and fingerprint feature for quick access.
Privacy is very important to them. Much more than I had expected. We have growing to do but it does seem doable. In long run should be great for both parties.
It gets a 3 for now, mostly because it wanted a reveiw on the 2nd time i opened the app. You should least wait till i have time to test it.
I've used this for years but now it is being replaced by a cloud based solution which I do not want - so I've found another app that lets my files only on my device.... Shame!

WE DON'T WANT THE "STINKLE" APP!! NO!!...NO STINKLE CLOUD APP!! ONLY ON DEVICE STORAGE. ISAIDNO!! THIS DEV IS DISCONTINUED, & HAS TURNED TO THE DARK SIDE. HE MUST BE DIGESTED OVER A THOUSAND YEARS.
The app is alright. But I see that you are saying that a new version is coming. Can you please share tge ETA for the new version.
Worked great but replaced by a crappy new apps. This app was well made and exactly what I wanted. The new replacement app is basically a cloud version where you need to pay for space each month when you go over the 1 go free plan. I don't need that as I can easily backup the files from Safe Camera on my actual backup system with over 10 To of space. Please fix the access problem of the main folder!
