Safe Connect VPN: Proxy Wi-Fi Hotspot, Secure VPN

I really enjoy the entire McAfee product line and have been using them (livesafe, safe connect and true key) for over a year now. I only have a few issues that have recently come up. One of them is that when I try to add a new device (because I go through phones like crazy) the VPN app will always say "maximum number of devices" and it makes me login to the website where I have to get the original activation code to use. Needless to say this really annoying to have to do.

It often is disconnected and I have to restart my phone to reconnect Safe Connect and VPN. I have it set to come be on all the time. I NEVER change that prompt. I still suspect nefarious and illegal activity. Also my WiFi is not the problem. I am unable to stop videos that I film from looping. I do have that feature turned to the off selection.

Unfortunately, I've been having the same issues for the past few months that others are having which is safe connect does not stay connected. It turns itself off & even if I click on to connect, it doesn't. Only way to get it back on is I have to turn the phone off then back on. Yes, I have cleared cache many times & it still disconnects.

VPN connection constantly drops (without my knowledge and notifications are on). There should be no reason why protection continues dropping and it's been like this for over a month. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, updated and tried troubleshooting every possible angle I could think of and it's just not working properly. I'm highly considering not renewing my subscription and go with a different provider seeing I'm not the only individual with similar complaints as other consumers 😑

The app is a complete nonsense. I've been using mcafee for few years now, and safe connect always worked flawleslly, until the 2022 version. Now VPN is also implemented in the antivirus app (mobile security), but when I turn it on it blocks internet completely, being unable to open any website or app. If I try to use Safe Connect app, it connects to vpn for 2 seconds, and then immediately shuts the vpn connection down. Overall, vpn isn't working with neither app.

My VPN was connected to the Netherlands for months after initial purchase. I finally got tired of non English ads, and switched to a U. S. Connection, first day drained my data, and it will not connect again. Been on hold waiting for the "mobile team" for three days, one hour per day. No answer. But tech support has no problem just transferring me right back there every time. Now they just want to give me a refund. They spent too much time on communication and zero time on problem solving.

Really good VPN. It's fast and it's convenient when it automatically connects. One minor thing I would like it to have is a stop button for when it's attempting to connect. Sometimes it gets stuck on connecting when you have a slow connection and I would like to stop it when it can't connect. That would get it my 5 stars.

App is EXTREMELY slow. Randomly disconnects by itself and doesn't auto-connect (with the app settings turned on to auto connect but doesn't work, with the WiFi settings turn on doesn't work. Nothing.) WiFi or 4G doesn't make a difference. I am next to the router and McAfee Safe Connect disconnects. Unreliable.

Still does not work properly since the update with no fix in sight. Error: We need yoy to agree to our connection request etc. Found a workaround using another vpn which works if I want to use it, I would connect with another free vpn then connect with safe connect a bit stupid but it's the program that's the problem the only reason I use it us because it comes with my antivirus package and the free vpn the works on my android has a limit else I would have deleted long ago.

This app never works how it should. Spends forever connecting(cancel connect button would be nice) there was about a month where this app worked great no problems. Needs to connect better and the interface over top notifications to turn on safe connect easily almost never works.

If other apps have too many updates, this app oppositely needs MORE. I chose automatically connect but it often disappears on my status bar or just turned off. I still have to manually ensure each time I turn on wifi.

This comes included with my Mcafee Total Protection security package. I use it occasionally.. I had already purchased a dedicated, stand alone VPN... which I use on a daily basis. I like it more because it has more features to customize its usage..... but that said I still give this a positive rating.... it seems to do what it's designed to do and is very easy to activate and use.

Will not work. It's been a few days and I simply can't connect to a VPN. Every time I click on connect the app just stays loading and won't connect.. I've tried rebooting, uninstalling and nothing. It's basically useless at this point

Crashes often. No error messages, just inexplicably stops working sometimes. Even after restarting phone sometimes won't work. Even has generic non-descriptive error messages when you try to report problems in the app.

My review was deleted. Your entire McAfee Enterprise is a disaster. It is confusing and your VPN disconnects too much. I had a free trial for a week. I lasted two days before I cancelled my subscription. In no way do I want my money going here. You advertise for security and anonymity, but your apps cannot stay connected. False advertising. This is your issue and you're failing to adhere to claims your company and app makes. A security breach and a breach of trust.

I switch to this app from another as I use McAfee on my computers. It drains my phone battery and interferes with my mobile connectivity. Uninstaller and problems went away. It may work for security but is too disruptive otherwise.

When i go to notification on my phone and app it automatically stuck on connecting the only way to stop that is to turn off my phone. Also when connection to wifi the vpn turn off while it say it's on. I was ok if i avoid the notification part but now I had enough when will the next update appear to fix this?

Sort your app out. It keeps losing connection without even warning. And then doesn't reconnect automatically. This is a massive breach of user safety on the Internet. Numerous people have left the same reviews so stop telling us to contact support. It's your app that is at fault and the complaints are here. No need to send us to your support team to complain again. Be competent and pass on this information to your app developers to resolve internally and to then release an update with a fix!

I am so disappointed with McAfee. It is constantly turning off and is Off way more than it's on. Now it is not letting me turn on even though it's downloaded. I want my money back!!!! If I could give it 0 stars I would. Tried calling them but they never answered. Worthless!

Still not working and neither is my total protection. I'm sad to say. I'm going to request a refund and add true key as well. The safe browser within it isn't worth opening only one window. I feel let down. Maybe it's my device.

Some days I can't get Safe Connect to work. it always says "connecting" but didn't connect. I try to stop the app, clear cache and restart my phone, but that doesn't work.

Worst.. Won't even connet to internet.... Too slow.... Always disconnets... Needs a phone restart after the disconnection, for the app to reconnect again... I would have given 0 stars if it was an option... I have two years supcription and i cannot even use this even for an day

auto protect doesn't work all the time although the notification suggests you are protected. this puts users more at risk as they believe they are protected when not. if you knew you were not protected you would avoid sensitive site. Also using the report on the app fails to send. All round poor job

Switches on and off randomly. It is often the cause for my phone lagging. I have to turn off just so I can use other apps.

They've improved this app significantly since i started using it. it had a bug where sometimes it would display a weird error message and it wouldn't connect. Also, you used to not have the option to select which networks to trust. Now the bug is gone, you can select which networks to trust, and the interface is cleaner and nicer. Only issue, it won't alert you if it can't connect which it should so you dont think you are protected when you are not. But it's worth it regardless.

For some reason the VPN will seemingly turn on at random and only for a little while. Almost always does it tell me "Oops, something went wrong" when I try to connect. On the rarest of occasions will I look down and it will be own. 🤷‍♂️ I'm sure it would be good if it actually worked. It seems to run fine on my laptop, but it NEVER works as I expect it to on my phone.
