Safe Wi-Fi

This app was great until a few months ago when Verizon rolled out the Digital Secure app. I didn't upgrade and now Safe Wi-Fi doesn't automatically start when I connect to an untrusted network and most times when I try to manually start it, it fails. Either continuing to just spin and spin, until I give up or it gives me an error message saying it can't connect at this time and to try again later.

This is a pretty useful service when away from home and connected to unsecured WiFi networks, however it would be much more useful if Verizon would enable you to log in with your user name/password instead of requiring it to be used only on VERIZON Devices with a designated Verizon number! I have Samsung and Amazon tablets (not on a cell service) that I would like to use it on which should be included in the 10 devices it allows on your account; but it won't allow it. Also, it would also be nice if you could use it as a standard VPN even while on 4gLTE.

This app obviously needs more work. I installed it two days ago, and it keeps stopping. I can tell because the key icon disappears at top of screen. I reactivate, it works briefly, then key disappears. I've been using it at home due to coronavirus self-isolation. I reinstalled it twice. It works briefly, then quits. I bought premium version for $3.99. I'm done.

50/50 chances at best. Most of the time it will not turn on no matter how many times I reinstall it, airplane mode, restart phone, etc. It worked great at home. While traveling, it will not work anywhere in Taiwan and Vietnam. "IF" it does turn green for once, it turns off through the night, leaving your phone doing stuff unsecure on internet. I spent 4 hours on the phone with tech support before we left trying to get iPhone X app to work. No go! IT IS NOT RELIABLE !!! WHO KNOWS IF IT IS SECURE

Not working properly for me. I don't use public WiFi often, but had to manually turn it on when I did. For me this is a minor annoyance, but what really bothers me is that it doesn't shut off when connected to trusted networks. As one would expect, the bandwidth is negatively affected when it's active (and some apps won't work at all), so I have to manually go in and shut it down. Not just turn off the protection, but shut it down in the app's settings. A VPN app needs to work properly.

As some others have pointed out, Verizon presented this as a free add-on yet they were charged monthly for the service. Because of that, I made sure to keep tabs on my bill since it was presented to me as a free add-on as well. Low and behold, they are trying to charge $3.99/month. Promptly called to have it removed and charges credited back. We'll see if they keep trying to charge. Other than that, this app is a data hog. Better off just getting unlimited data and staying off public wifi.

Runs fine at times. But some time the vpn does not turn on when I switch internet connection. Even when I manually turn on, it wont respond. I always have to restart my device or uninstall and reinstall the app. Its really frustrating. FIX IT. I have sent an email. And no one has responded, is as frustrating as the app.

I click on the app and it says registering your setup and that's it. Nothing else. Before now it would say protected and now it doesn't do anything! I have pictures from middle eastern countries in my gallery and my screen constantly flickers. That part is for Verizon. Anyway, I don't know what to do with this. Thank you for reading.

I've had the app for about 4 or 5 days. Drains my battery and slows down my phone. I tried to show someone a picture in my Facebook yesterday and it wouldn't let my phone load any photos at all. I was connected to my works wi-fi where I've never had trouble before. I thought I would try the free trial because my works wi-fi is public. Long time Verizon customer but I think they have some work to do yet on this app. Uninstalling as soon as I figure out not getting charged next month.

Was working fine up until a few weeks ago. Now it won't start, keeps shutting down and not doing what it's supposed to be doing. Why am I even paying for this when it will not work properly. Waiting on a response, let's see what happens. Update: sent info requested several weeks ago and still no response. Gotta love that Verizon tech support. Maybe AT&T would be better. Update: Still doesn't work. Responded to Verizon's message twice with all info and still nothing from them for 7 weeks.

It was only a few days ago I complained this app locked up. Even when I turned off my internet access, waited, then reingaged again. I loaded the app and it worked for two (2) days and locked up again. Prior to the past month (like for 2 years), this app was never failing. I'm giving it one more chance then it's over. Like I said before "Why it stops working and locks up ... your guess is as good as mine."

The app worked but ever so often I would come back to check on the status (on all 3 protected phones) it had turned itself off and I'd have to go and turn it on and adjust settings. Now on my phone it won't even login. Says buy now, click it, says I already have it and closes. Verizon "tech coach" said, can't help you with one app.

Could and should be better. I got this to stay protected in coffee shops, when using public wifi and because I don't want to give my data to the Chinese and Russians by using one of the many VPN apps out there that have unknown, non-American developers. Unfortunately, some apps will not load or are very slow, including some major ones. It's a shame. I often have to turn off the app and protection because apps keep loading forever. Some, like Netflix, do not allow VPNs. Verizon must do better.

2 hours with support and still doesn't work. Recommended wiping my phone. Not going to happen. Update: a year plus later and a new phone and the app still will not automatically protect unknown wifi. I have to remember to do it everytime. That's clearly an app issue, not the phone.

This app isn't worth the time to install. Naturally it's going to shut off when leaving the router, but when returning, same router, it won't restart automatically or manually. Had to uninstall then install, then it will work until I leave again , then the process starts over. Did this 5 times in 3 hours. They think I'm going to pay monthly for this? Don't think so until it gets fixed.

I installed this app and deleted it two hours later. All it did was keep popping up telling me that the wifi I was on was insecure. It doesn't matter that I was at home. The pop up also continued to pop up no matter which option I chose. The pop up continues to repeatedly come up even though I've deleted the app! I've had to restart my phone several times! Please help!

I am reinstalling for the 4th time. It stops working. When I initiate it and check later it has reverted back to orange, not protected. I will have to reboot my phone trying to make it stick. I checked today and the protected/not protected icon when I opened the app was missing. I rebooted now and same so once again I am reinstalling. Since I am a Verizon customer, this is not very impressive. If Verizon offers an app, it must be pretested before its available. Thumbs down.

This is app has become one awful decision. It worked for awhile. Now it keeps my computer searching, never able to get on a site. I was on the phone for several hours with tech support and the only this app will work if my tablet is in safe mode. Unfortunately I have other apps that I need to get to that are not available in safe mode. I can't even use word in safe mode. You all need to give lots of credits to accounts for this headache.

App works great in USA. I'm guessing it uses a VPN for security. I went overseas to China and I wanted to use this app because I was worried about unsecured China networks, it absolutely did not work. Infact it kept disconnecting the network. Had to uninstall app in China. Went unprotected for a whole month overseas.

Can't get it to work. Was going to switch to this because not happy with Norton VPN. I think I will go back and disable it. Very disappointed. I see the reply from the Developer and will reach out (thank you). 11/21 Drveloper never responded when I reached out. My 1 star review has not changed. 😞

I want to like this app; but it fails to launch when connecting to wifi networks. Manually activating the protection works for a little while; but it turns off the protection if my screen times out, so I need to manually re-enable it each time I wake my phone.

Downloaded SAFE Wi-Fi. The loading/activation would not complete; called support and explained problems activating the FREE downloaded app. I got a slight chuckle but be took care of activating my lines. Afterward I noticed the phone was hanging up and required a many reboots. A double click on a picture in Amazon to enable zooming.....the cursor just sat and spun. Removed in Vez acct and all is good. DON'T USE-Also showed removal of $3.99 feature; not FREE. EITHER POOR SOFTWARE/AD COORD OR...

Installed and immediately noticed a slowdown in wireless speed even on secured network. The delay has gotten so bad that the phone stops responding to the touch screen and has to be restarted. Uninstalling.

Why have this, it keeps stopping. Have had to reinstall way too many times. Useless.Just reinstalling again. Now when attempting to reinstall, I am expected to pay an additional fee? For a prigram that stops wirking frequently. It isn't the amount if the fee, it is the principle.

App seems to work well setting up VPN connections. The only problems are 1) app seems to break Wi-Fi calling, 2) when you add "trusted" networks to its list, the app will still connect to VPN even though it's not supposed to.

Strange thing is that when checking router and system info., with this app, now I have 5 open ports, which previously had zero! And 4 of the ports had very potential risks that upon research I realize that to disable is my best option!
