- The SafeUT Crisis Text and Tip Line app provides 24/7 access to crisis counseling or tip reporting for youth in the state of Utah. After installing the app you can connect directly to the UNI CrisisLine or report a confidential tip on bullying, school threats of violence or concern about someone in crisis. CrisisLine staff can assist with a wide variety of problems, including emotional crisis, grief and loss, drug and alcohol problems, mental health issues, self-harm and suicidal behavior.

Once again the app is experiencing issues that make it IMPOSSIBLE to start a chat. When you send a message, it reads, "Error, please try again later" and kicks you out of the dialog. When you go to click on the number to call, it's improperly formatted and goes to the "Call not completed. Please check the number you are dialing and try again." I thought this app was supposed to help people in the moment? Not days later when they decide to fix things. Edit: Uninstall and reinstall done prior.
It was helpful to be able to help a friend. It does have some bugs, it keeps exiting the app, which can really be harmful for someone that needs to text or call someone immediately, but it suited well for my purpose. Just kind of smooth it out and that would be great👍
This is clearly a chatbot app. The "counselor" would type multiple paragraphs within 1 minute of me sending my message, and all their messages sent twice. The "help" they gave me was something I could have found by reading an article, and it wasn't personalized at all. I would seriously not recommend this app, it's a scam. I am ashamed that my state would think it was a good idea to create this app.
I often need to vent to release pressure. SafeUT is a great space for venting. Sometimes the tips are more helpful and specific, while othertimes it is the generic stuff, which is why I can see how others may not find it as helpful. Works great on computer and phone.
It was nice to talk to someone but I wish that the responses were quicker, and there seems to be a bug that is making the messages send twice in a row from the responder every time? I hope those issues can be fixed
Honestly, super amazing. I used the chat system and the person on the other end was super sweer and caring, and definitely tried to make me feel better. It gave me someone to talk to, and inwpuld recomened it to anyone who just needs to talk with someone.
I only talked to someone for about 20 minutes, And they would send replys sounding annoyed with me. I didn't answer for 2 minutes and they said " hey it's getting late and it's about time to close the chat, text us another time" then ended the chat. I thought this app can be used 24/7? I didn't even get to talk about what was going on. Im very upset. But I have talked go some very nice people before that helped a bit.
they dont give you notifications and some of the chats end and are permanently closed if you dont answer in an hour. its very nice to speak to someone, but im not always available but this app doesnt seem to understand that.
The app sends each text twice and a lot of the time the counselors don't help in the way I need. And they reply slow. Which I mean they're busy and this is a stressful job. But still
It is overall a good app. It helps me alot when im depressed and anxious. But some of the people I have talked too havent been that helpful. They usually try to talk about something else or distract me from my problems.
I can't download this right now, my app is glitching, but i need help. I have a partner, long-distance, and he's not in a good place. We've known he's suicidal for some time, and his parents are divorced, but everything we know came up in casual conversation. One of them starves him. Both of them didn't believe that there's something wrong, when he first came to them about his suicidal tendencies. They don't even know he cuts. Im scared for him. Please help, give me some advice, or something....
This app, easy access to it, and people who encourage you to use the app -- has saved my life many times, and MANY other lives of the people i know. I'm a 17 yr old young woman in a high school in Utah, and I've personally attempted 3+ times as of two years ago, and so many of my peers have too. Use this app please.
I 100% recommend. Real people (like professionals) reply back to your messages. It's a good outlet to have if you have anxiety or ever need someone to talk to. It's a good source to just vent overall. No matter what it is that you're talking about. they offer help services for more serious (or what they feel are serious) "sessions".
It's really nice and I get very good advice from the chat crisis. It's nice having someone to talk to that I know will be able to help even if they just point me in a positive direction. The app does kick me out sometimes and I don't get immediate notifications that they've replied, made me a little upset the first time it happened, I thought they just left. But overall I'm very satisfied with it.
the app is very poorly made and requires password everytime, this is unnecessary and makes contacting harder. this wouldnt be a problem if the chat members didnt like to leave in less than 5 minutes. they would not stop talking about anything other than paying mathods for treatment. i understand that treatment helps, but i got this because finances are low and wanted to vent or seek help and companionship. this app feels like one big cheap clinic advertisement
The people there are useless we tried to submit a tip and they just told us the obvious! We tired to talk to a counceler and they just went in circles! Get this app if you want to talk to a wall
The person that help me got confused about my report and on of my friends but then after we cleared it up it took the person more than 14 minutes to respond after all other responses where less that 4 then the response was small and basically asking why I was asking in the frist place,I wouldn't recommend this for serious advice especially dont use this if advice is needed quickly ,and then they tried to not respond to me so yet again I don't recommend it. There text = not helpful.
I was recommended this by a social worker when I was in the hospital once, and I finally got around to downloading it. Turns out it's required to select one of the listed schools. I'm homeschooled. Thats not one of the options. Gee, thanks.
whomever you speak to in the chat will take 10 minutes to respond, every time. when someone wants to die, every minute counts, but not to these "licensed therapists". horrible first impression. don't bother downloading this app. you won't get any help.
Not sure what I think. I was trying to explain everything and then they refered me to a few websites. I'm then thinking, oh, they're trying to wrap this up. So I boil everythind down to just one question. One sentance. And then I get "have nice day. we're open 24/7". As far as crisis goes. I'm not sure how much help it is...
This app has wonderful gameplay, the graphics were a little under par but that's about the only con I can think of. Overall had an interesting storyline and I enjoyed it a lot, couldn't put it down! Can't wait for the second one to come out.
the app works good, i just want you to make sending images available, that way you can just send the conversation, if it was over text.
This app is absolutely great. My friend had gotten her phone taken away and I just needed somebody. SafeUT helped me feel better and I really appreciate the people who run this app.
Definitly helps. The app takes a bit to load and if you use the chat feature there will be delay, so if you need assistaince in the moment call them. I wish i could have talked to someone who had overcome scuicidal thoughts themselves but this will work Also sorry for poor spelling
...so why doesn't it have BYU listed as a secondary educational institution? Doesn't make sense to not include it, it's the second largest university in the state. Otherwise a great app!
this app is not that good first of all it took 10 to 20 min for them to text back plus they don't really help you any way they just ask questions. so I would not recommend it but do like the concept
It's alright I suppose, but definetly isn't the most reliable. Whether it be the long delay when sending/recieving messages or unhelpful advice, it feels difficult to communicate with others. Not to say it hasn't helped in certain situations because it absolutely has, but it's not uncommon to find yoirself questioning whether or not the person you are speaking too is qualified. The biggest issue for sure though is the delay in sending messages.
