Sail Racer app suggest the favored end of the start line, monitors your position, time and guides the maneuvers that the start line was hit at the last moment with the best possible speed during your sail.
With the sail app it is easy to navigate in racing area. Sail Racer interface is designed in a way that course efficiency, the lay lines and shifts could be captured in a splash of a second. Skipper does not need to analyze the numbers and can concentrate on handling the boat, maximizing performance and playing tactical games with competitors.
Every wind gust and lull affect the boat heading and is visualized in a “easy to read” shift bar on the top of compass rose and on the map.

Ambitious product which falls short. Product support is non-existent. Developer does not respond to emails. Premium license disappears every time App is restarted, which requires Internet connection, sometimes hard on a boat. latest release has signicant calculation errors making many functions useless.
Awkward at best. Very difficult trying to navigate just to load the trial premium version. Can't save the courses that have laboriously been setup.
By far the best regatta app. Keeps it smart and simple letting you concentrate on sailing.
This app is great. Simple to use and affordable navigation. Keep up the good work please!
Had promise but useless for me without premium subscription as that is required to establish nmea183 data source.
This app has potential. It needs better documentation. Like how to create polar data. Upload to server seems to have stopped working. Did anything ever happen with the SmartWatch app? I still like the app and use it but I need to create polar data for new sail inventory and I can't seem to do it.
Doesn't work well on Cat S40. Can't seem to find a stable GPS signal even tho GPS hardware on this device is really good. Standing still the distance to the start line fluctuates over ±20 meters (if I can ping the marks at all). Interface is ok. Used to be more straight fwd.
Whilst there is plenty that the app gets right , I have zero tolerance for BS. You send me an email offering a "free upgrade to premium" that turns out to be the 1 month trial in the app, you are clearly (a) lying about the offer, and (b) abusing my email privacy. Totally unacceptable.
Excellent app. Better features than much more expensive systems. The only downside is the android hardware. I can't wait to get my e-ink display.
This app could be made perfect if there was the ability to configure custom nmea sentences. Please add this feature.
It's ok. Doesn't do what I need it too reliably though. And it's outrageous that they want an annual fee to keep using the app.

I have been using this app for years and the worst thing about it is that it is able to be downloaded and used by other sailors. I don't want it to be used by the other sailors I compete against. It is that good. Thanks Ricardas for a great sail racing tool.
This app works well. Courses cane be entered on the Web and downloaded to the app, which is quite a good solution. I had a problem with the subscriptions: I have a current Premium subscription for which I pay around $15 per year. The app stopped working and required me to pay for a Premium subscription again - for $52 per year. I reported the problem to the author and he cancelled the second, more expensive, subscription..
Current version works well. The developer was quick to respond to my support request. Looking forward to pairing this to my datalinker on my boat.

Does everything you need and more.. Under constant development and improvement.
Add an option for a race start countdown to a time on the phone clock, for example, start time in a pursuit race is 13:27 hours.

This app was amazing. I was telling everyone to use it last season. I come to do the first race of the season on the yacht only to find I have to pay to be able to flick between the screens! Time to change app.
The writeup fails to mention that the cost is a $13.78/yr subscription for "premium". Free version is very limited.
Could you add a way to set a race count down start time? For example if the race is to start at 11:06 am you would set the count down to start automatically at 11:00 rather than having to watch the clock and hit start.
Great racing tool. I see space for improvement : no clock countdown correction on minutes, no posibility download or share buy coordinates. Good luck
Only accepts nmea over wifi. Blue tooth is only for their own device
I bought the essential bluetooth transceiver for £150 being led to believe that it was standalone and a good idea. I then discovered you have to buy a limited app on a £35 subscription. Very little of the NMEA data is available and the full functionality requirement to be on WiFi is a joke if you are racing even near shore. At best this was deception. Currently full NMEA cannot be transmitted and received on bluetooth. There are many much better, much cheaper apps out there. Avoid this one.
