Come on folks, it's been nearly a year since people started complaining about website navigation issues yet the moronic problem still plagues the website. Like most days, I've only been able to read one of the stories I wanted to read today; searching by topic is not any more useful. Please send your digital editors to HTML 101 class.

I downloaded this app because I was tired of the desktop site constantly updating and forcing the browser to go back to the top of the page. Unfortunately the geniuses behind that idiocy probably had a hand in this app. Make the entire title of the article fit on the screen. I literally had to click on every article to see what it was about because the text cuts itself off. Will probably uninstall and just stick to buzzfeed as they know what they are doing.

The best of the "online tabloids." Far better than Huffington, AOL, Yahoo, Newsmax (disgusting) , but still very sensationalist and gossipy. The app itself went to hell. The articles link to random content now. PRO TIP: Get over your hard on for bashing anything not leftist insane and learn how to make an app.

I love Salon and its contributors, so it's very disappointing that this app is so weak. 9 times out of 10 you get the wrong article after clicking the link you want. I'll have to go back to reading your site via browser until this is fixed.

Salon has great content, well worth reading, but this app makes it very hard to find that content. People have been complaining for months; why has the problem with the links not been fixed? UPDATE Just loaded the app on a Galaxy Tab S and it works fine. The links problem would seem to be platform-related. UPDATE 2: even on the tab s, some of the pages (politics, for one) have an off-by-one error in the indexing of the links. On the phone the indexing is just atrocious. UPDATE 8/16/16 still broken.

The app is very slow for what it does (display a bunch of images and text), it often does not recognize or use internet connection, there is no quick or intelligent way to cache articles for offline reading, and half of the time when you tap a headline it sends you to another article (the "load more" button really is a mess). The content is what it is, fact-light and opinion heavy, written by innumerate English-major millenials in their underpants, still interesting in an anthropological kind of way.

Having attempted to use this app multiple times over several days, I have found it quite frustrating. Clicking on an article (other than the main one) leads me to a completely different one. There appears to be no rhyme or reason to the article selection. It is not like they are just out of sync. Every article link leads to something completely different than what the headline states. In this day and age, not being able to correctly link to an article is unfathomable.

I'm a long times fan of Salon. This App really does deserve all five stars, solely based upon the magazine's content, yet I could not compel myself to grant that final star. It's of my opinion, and only my opinion that this News & Entertainment App contain more news, breaking news, etc., and a "lil-bit" less of the blog or blog style articles; not to mention the Hollywood Star type of reporting...boo...yuck! I still, as a bleeding heart Progressive, LOVE this magazine and probably always will.

This has to be one of the most frustrating and disappointing apps I have ever used. Why? Because it just doesn't work. I can read two or three stories from the links on the home page, but after that, it will NEVER open the story I click on, and will just re-open things I have already read. Absolutely infuriating level of ineptitude that effectively destroys both utility and enjoyment. Sad, really.

Would like to comment from my phone. Also won't allow you to follow links from comments section. Also find the way the links take you to the wrong article annoying. I have to clear cache frequently and even force stop on a regular basis to overcome this problem - very irritating.

The text size in the comments section on my tablet is very small - maybe 5 or 6 point. Very small to read easily without a magnifying glass. It does not seem that the text size can be changed.

Tried this app on iOS and Android. Many problems but this app is horrible. Have been reading Salon since it's inception and firmly convinced that you are among the top 1% in content and layout. Your intellectual heft is 100%, do is the writing. so plz fix the app.😘

Edit: this no longer works at all. Website just as worse. Sorry to say but I'm forced to abandon Salon altogether. Was ok while it lasted. Old review: Crashes all time, struggles to refresh. Most of the time I have to force stop/restart to see new articles. The "Download for Offline" feature is OK, works about 30% of the time. The ONLY reason I use this app is because to be desktop site overloaded with horrible ads. Dunno who is running the show over there but they are doing a terrible job.

These people are some of the most intelligent writers we have in the world right now. Keep up the good work.

This has been going on for months...even after the update that fixed the comments. The blurbs on the main pages link to the article above or below them usually. Today they seem to be linking randomly and I can't even find the article!!!! This is the one of the worst news apps now, since it never seems to work 100 percent correctly...coupled with the fact that Salon used to be a very comprehensive and erudite news site, but it's become much more trashy and silly to be frank.

Very informative articles, improved mobile reading screen. Tends to lean a little left, but I still enjoy the content.

Dav. W. Dec 1, 2016

Now no longer opens in Nougat! What‹s wrong with their techs? Links back to articles frequently don't work and can only be fixed by clearing all of the app settings by a forced stop. This is the only application I've ever seen where this happens. The quality of the writing is sadly variable, but is often very good. If the app would be reliable i would use it daily.

I look forward to reading this daily. Many different points of view make it immensely interesting. Only bad thing is that most days the links are all messed up so if there's an article you really want to read you may or may not get there.

Jim. T. P. Aug 4, 2016

Interface on my android phone is easy to use, responsive and has not had problems. The content is wide ranging and insightful.

Sha. B. Dec 4, 2016

At least a third of the links I click on take me to the wrong story. VERY frustrating and annoying. No other news app I've used acts like this. Not recommended.

Jam. M. Aug 29, 2017

The app has been constantly crashing, and now simply says it can't get the articles. The online site is working, too bad because I like the format and diversity of articles.

Geo. B. Oct 27, 2015

Worked well & I liked Salon - but Android 5 has broken WiFi so it's tough to view Salon.

Pla. Sep 18, 2015

Can't read linked twitter posts without leaving app. Kind of dumb. All titles of articles are cut in half and finished with ellipsis. Kind of annoying...

Not too many outlets with this kind of commentary so the viewpoint is nice. The app also functions flawlessly across varied android devices.

Jor. W. Feb 15, 2016

Good site overall. I love the political writing. Occasionally some articles feel more like unedited blog posts due to the spelling and grammatical errors. Some days the links point to a completely different article...which is maddening.

Pau. C. Apr 13, 2016

Tap on one link and another random story comes up. Great articles when you can find them. Frustrating.

A. G. u. Feb 22, 2017

Either greatly improved app or just works better on a newer Samsung tablet. Content wide ranging, some articles detailed, others more summaries. Mostly liberal view points.
