I previously had the 'Version 4.0' and it kept on telling the app login (not the web login) is not working. Then I uninstalled it and installed again and then it showed the version as 1.3.4! I.e. the old version of the app did not even prompt me to upgrade but simply gave an error message. ok, about the 1.3.4 version: Does not show the last credit card statement balance clearly. No indication of the settlement amount when trying to settle the card.not very helpful. I had to check my emails to quickly find the settlement amount from the e-statement and then settled via the app.
This is an incomplete garbage app. If you don't know how to design one just take a look at Frimi. What's the point of having an app if it doesn't support half of the features available in web. That OTP confirmation alert box closes whenever I touch outside of it. It's annoying. I have to request OTP multiple times because it keep saying OTP is invalid, even though it's not. Don't use this app. Just use the mobile version of Vishwa web app which is million times better.
So frustrating that this app never works!! Reported multiple times that I don't receive the code to my mobile for which the sms & otp services are activated. Why can't you provide another way to access the app? As in the same code can be sent via an email too, right? This is so frustrating! Spent almost half a day at the bank trying to sort this issue & about an hour on phone (3 calls) today again to resolve the issue. Is this app even tested before deployment?
Needs improvement. The only advantages of using this app over SampathVishwa is that this has fingerprint authentication and the ability to paste OTPs instead of typing them manually. Issues: * Can't send money to third party other bank accounts as there's no one time payment option or the ability to add a personal payee through the app. * Doesn't show the current outstanding amount and the statement balance of credit cards - how do you make the payment without checking this.
Sampath vishwa used to be one of the best apps. but with the new interface its one of the worst. Cannot transfer money for an emergency. It asks for an OTP which you have to wait for good 5 to 10 minutes. and sometimes you never get it. i only use it to check the balances and still prefer the web interface.
GUI is amazing. Easy to use. But always app is crashing and closing automatically and ask to contact help desk and sign in again. Need to fix that bug. Thank you.
I've joined Sampath bank recently. I have successfully created my internet banking account and did some transactions as well. But, I can't login to my account via the app. Always rejecting invalid credentials and the wrong entry count is not even reducing.
In one word "Unreliable" Cant understand how much of a big deal it is for a major commerical bank to get a proper App done. Most of the time transactions get failed, has to enter otp multiple times (my highest record was 17 once🥲). Cannot add new payees, dont give a receipt and most IMPORTANTLY, the app doesn't work when you want to do an urgent transaction.
Frustrating every time whenever you have to make a transfer to a non Sampath third party account. You have to log in to the desktop or mobile site every time , add personal payee. For some payees you only make these payments only once, yet you have to keep them in your list forever. This personal payee adding process is frustrating.
Totally disappointed. It keeps sending me the OTP to verify the device but there is no place to input the code. Only the Retry button is active. Don't you have a process of checking all these before publishing this? I don't know how many bugs are there in this. I do NOT RECOMMEND to use this. NO NO NO.
This's the worst app that I have used. They need to change the passwords atleast per two weeks. I have gone put of ideas for the sampath app's passwords. To make things more worse, they have unabled the secure login in chrome, so that it'll never saves the account passwords in the Google Passwords. By far the worst experience and most inconvenient ever. Sampath should known that this's not Fort Knox they are securing and you're one great example for the worst of all banks.
Very reliable app since app was launched. But in the past few months identified that even when i entered the correct otp, i cannot do the transaction or even mobile reloads. Sometimes its done after 2 or three attempts. But in this week its not works at all. So i switched to web site to do transactions. Need to fix this issue sooner..
First of all, great concept but very poor implementation. The interface is from like an app in 2014 and I don't think the people who Sampath hired to develop this app is competent in interface design. Absolutely unnecessary clutter in the sidebar. And for an app with this functionality, the file size is astronomical. Developers should get a grip!
Worst app ever.. Not enough details showed in transaction history. Very unfriendly user interface. Transferring funds to another account is a real nightmare. Every time I want to do a transaction, I have to log into sampath wishwa from the internet browser and add the required account one by one.. Fix this annoying features.
I never faced any problems during using or transferring money using Sampath Bank Mobile App. But, I think this will look more seamless if this got some modern UI. I feel this is kinda outdated. Anyway, I can suggest anyone to use this without worrying about your account security or any problems.
sampath is doing great job in bringing convenience in mobile banking. Although the bank says revolutionary app, this is still in primary stage of development and needs substantial improvements. especially how to.. or FAQ section guiding the novice people on using mobile banking and limitations such as how much we ca transfer. I always search web to find such. Also credit card and other payments not going through well, keep on trying for ever doing nothing. we are going all these to save time but just waste time at the end. Also, the notification tab show some machine language and nothing can get from there.
App was freezed half the time. Time out errors pop up left and right. Also, when enter the correct username and password it says incorrect password. I uninstalled the app and now using the website. Disappointing
This doesn't even let me log in even though I type the correct ID and password. But tried the same on Vishwa website it also crazy. But on the website of vishwa there is a balloon picture left side of login buttons.. When I click it, I go to a page and there is another orange color log in & sign up buttons. When I type the same ID and password (which I typed on the first page of this site and on the app) It really works and I can see everything. Need an answer. What's going on ?
Just wanted to add something to the review as the top reviews are quite old. App has been improved alot as of late and most of the issues that are on these reviews are fixed. Quite easy to use for your banking matters. Can't remember the last time I've been been to the Bank.
I have several problems with this application.It does not show credit card information properly .While I'm in the mid of some process,application instantly shows "session time out" and log off automatically, when I try to enter NIC number for transaction information tab for registration ,it shows that "Invalid NIC". It was a very good banking app few years ago :-D.
If the password is expired it doesn't let you log in at all. You have to login from the web and reset it before you do anything. There are times you don't get the OTP at all no matter how many times you try. You're in bad luck if you have to transfer money urgently. The SMS alerts after deductions are sent about 10 mins later.
If there is any option to add new personal payees information through the mobile app this app is really great. Think when you want instant transactions for someone else then you have to go vishwa page via the mobile or desktop browser and add them... after that you can proceed the transactions... Time wasted!!! Make some updates includes with new features for the app that can access like through the web browser. Security issues are doesn't matter, if you give us best update with great options...
The UI is better. But I couldn't settle my credit card through the app because after entering the otp code it never goes to the next step. I prefer to use the web UI more than the app. But I see more potential in the app if you fix the bugs.
Changing the password is too complex. And I hate the fact that I can't activate a password without having to call. I get that it's for security but it takes too long to activate the account by calling. I wish there was a more convenient method for this.
The worst banking app in Sri lanka. It's been five months after opening Sampath account and vishwa service, still can't log in to this ugly app. Only the web interface through the browser is working, then what the point of mobile app. Every time even with the correct username and password (which is already using in through the browser) gives only "Wrong Password or username ". Called head office and told that's because system update, then wow... Nice.. 5 months of system updates huh... 🤣..
Better compared to other banking apps. But disappointed to discover that this is not up to the standard you have maintained for the web portal. There is no feature to add a personal payee! And again after a money transfer the online receipt is not provided! These two critical misses made me unmotivated to use this app. Please add these features.
The newest update is superb, which can be accessed easily with the fingerprint. The only request is to be made yo give 5 star at the next time, please develop the app to show the minimum payment due amount and the date in the credit card section. It would be really convenient for making the settlements on time.
A huge improvement over the previous version of the app, and it's great when it works. The only issues I have are the random login issues and the relatively slow loading of data. The login issues are the most annoying. Even with the fingerprint, sometimes the login just gives up in the middle.
