Samsara Driver

Bugs, bugs and more bugs. This app will put you on duty when in sleeper and it will switch you between driver and passenger on its own. Why the hell anyone willingly uses it is beyond me. I guess that if you like screwed up logs then this is the perfect app for you. I would not use this if I was not forced to do so.

It's handy, but it sometimes changes status on me when I'm sitting still. I've lost a few breaks to it randomly moving me into driving status while I was parked. I don't know why it does it. It doesn't happen often, but I still wish it wouldn't do it ever. Was just minutes from my break being over today when it did it and I lost about 26 minutes to my break having to be restarted. I can't even fix it on the logs when it does so, due to it being set to GPS. I was hoping to get to Atlanta by one.

I've been using this for over 2 years. There seems to be a continued problem with personal conveyance switching back to regular driving on its own. Too many times I find myself doing a 34 hour reset but it messes it up switching from PC to regular driving on its own. Fix this!!!!

Whether an app for drivers or deliveries or pizza or aerobics.... It still needs to take cues from successful design and usability formats. I thought that this app just wasn't built for drivers .... but from the feedback in the dispatch office it's not built for them either. Why do I have to hit the back button 10 times to get to a menu that I need to access often? Why when I open the app to use it do I have to wait to clear several pop-ups and popovers that tell me what I already know?

No warning when approaching max shift or driving hours, clocks said I had 2.5 hours available to drive. When I parked it shows me 2 hours in violation. UNACCEPTABLE. Might switch BACK to keep truckin. This is terrible and not the first time I've had this bs happen. Get this sorted out asap as the fines to drivers could be huge. Extremely frustrated with this app and the performance so far after nearly 18 months of using it. Won't say I hate it yet bet getting very close.

App crashes and freezes up way too much. Specially after an update. Lots of disconnect issues aswell. Most truck drivers are not computer savvy to be able to navigate to uninstalling and reinstalling the app numerous times a month. They want to just go. And logs need to be easy to log.

05-23-2022: Better then other elog systems. But, "Total Shift" which appears to be the 14-hour rule clock doesn't work correctly if your 70-hour rule clock ("Cycle") is less then 14 hours.

Far less user friendly compared to my old eld I was using. Jumps from sleeper to drive been stopped 30min finally had to log out. Using paper logs tomorrow. POS. Hate it.

Freezes up, crashes and no fuel/load check for us flatbedders. I mean come on, its 2022 and elogs are still stuck in 1990 it seems.

Just absolutely Horrible seriously handicapped with be force to use a app that is so disappointing easy to navigate user friendly but the only consistent thing is NOT accurate does NOT work properly reinstalled updated synced all permissions still NOT fully working!! My other app trackers work done but workplace uses this so I'm SOL

I don't have much of a choice except to use this app since our company moved from keep trucking. I'm not exactly sure how a driver is supposed to stay DOT compliant when this eld system barely functions half the time. Samsara, if you need someone to help you develop your product into something better, feel free to get ahold of me. This isn't an acceptable product to be provided when our wallets and livelihoods are at risk.

I first posted a review almost 2 years ago. One star. Currently, it doesn't recognize some vehicles, even though it will for some coworkers. Logs me on as (on duty) at anonymous times. Checks me into multiple vehicles in one day, even though I've left those vehicles via the app. If you want headaches and drivers getting shut down at the scales, with no customer support... I absolutely recommend this app.

More crashes than a swift truck driver. App won't work about once per month. Have to uninstall and redownload. Gets stuck on needing a vehicle to change duty status. I'm not a driver, I don't have a vehicle, fix your app.

Switches you from PC to drive. Totally messes up your HOS ! Hate using this and would much rather use another eld. When time resets it makes you think your good to drive when you are not ... Then puts you into violations!!!! Horrible app and eld !

Updates required the program to be uninstalled and re-installed. App does not notify you of a loss in communication of the wifi/receiver attached to the truck. Would not personally choose to use this application for my HOS needs.

You shouldn't have to hit save when switching to yard move or on duty. After you add your remarks it should be in that mode on duty or yard move etc .... hitting save to engage it made me end up not engaging those modes and i lose drive time.

If I could give negative stars I would! This is the worst platform I've ever used! No driver wants to be told to reduce speed when going the speed limit! This platform also glitches if you don't log out daily, which for an otr driver is a nuisance. I've used most platforms out there over the years, and I've never had another jump to the drive line with the parking break set! As a federal motor carrier, I will never use this platform in my trucks!
