Pros: The games are very interesting. The variety is just amazing. My son has been using it for a little more than 2 years now ( from 3 yrs old to 5 years old). He still has a wide variety of games at his disposal. The puzzle games are very good. The books are great for young readers especially when they are learning to pronounce. The statistics are a big help for any parent trying to steer the usage of their little ones. Cons: I did face difficulty with the updated interface. Getting used to it was not too hard. I felt it was slower than the previous version.

Does everything you want it to, in terms of keeping the kids from accessing apps and settings on your device that you would otherwise not want them to. However, the options are exhausting--my kiddo keeps getting into things, and with so many kid app options, ends up never figuring out how to get back to whichever one he was playing, because there are plenty of others it could be.. Which further complicates things as he keeps exhausting the internal storage of the device he uses, so I'm constantly transferring apps to expandable storage (SD Card). If it were more concise and limited app options to mostly educational and age-appropriate, that'd be ideal. But like I said, I do appreciate being able to simply load up Samsung Kids and hand my phone or tablet to the little man and let him do his thing.

The content is great, my kid loves it.. it's just with the new GUI there is too much going on for a kid to process. The previous version was more kid's mindset friendly for intuitive navigation for playing the games. The latest version is cluttered and hard to navigate for a 3,5 years old kid.

Overall a great app that's why we purchased the samsung kids tablet. It is kid friendly and easy to navigate. My concern is the stability and lag it due tends to cause. Its annoying needing to restart the samsung kids pad when that the only app being used on my child's pad. Also the new time lock options are less detailed. I found the prior lock options to be more controlling. But overall a very interactive way of learning.

Samsung Kids+ is great. My 4 year old daughter plays with it daily. Design/layout makes it easily navigable. Parental controls helps with setting guidelines for use, A plethora of educational choices. And, last but not least, yearly subscription is reasonable for the educational/entertainment value that it is. If there is one complaint, it's the Wifi doesn't reconnect automatically after having been powered off. .Settings are enabled for tablet to reconnect, but usually, I have to exit out of Samsung Kids+ app and reconnect it manually on parent side. More a hassle than anything else, as otherwise, tablet is awesome.

I really love it! My twins (8 yrs) and toddler all can use it. The app is easy to navigate. There are books, videos and games all rolled into one simple app that I don't have to worry about them getting out of because there's a code to input.. granted I had to change it once due to them finding it out but it was simple to reset!

Does a great job of keeping the kiddos in the app and provides a plethora of interesting games, videos and learning tools that are age appropriate. It definitely has been worth its subscription fee. The only drawback I can think of to mention is that there are SO many choices of games/apps that storage space can run out quickly, depending on how many your child chooses to explore or try out.

Enjoyed my sons free trial. Only thing i think should change is the amount of video content vs. school content. REALLY feel that more focus should be given towards education. Especially Pre-k age. More things like sight words, patterns, spelling, and math. I feel that colors and alphabets are easy to learn. Also need a better book selection in the reading portion.

Great tool to introduce children to the digital world! Great for setting limits and having them learn in a controlled and safe environment, great content as well, very educational, very intuitive, and overall well put together! Would recommend that a bed time be added integral to the app, but that can be done via other methods.

The new update is a bummer. As previously stated in other reviews, the new navigation is a little too complicated for my 4 year old to get through and even for me it was a bit complex. Also the apps that are shown at startup dont seem to be catered to what my child actually plays or likes, and I cant change it? For example, she never plays or looks at anything with Caillou (hes horrible!) but it keeps showing up first anyways. Anyways Ive canceled the subscription for now. Perhaps we'll return.

I love the Samsung Kids app. I have two kids (4 and 2+), the Samsung kids app has greatly helped their academic, creative and social developments. There are alot of different games, books, movies, learning activities for kids of different ages. Not to mention, it is very helpful to keep the kids engaged when you need some quite time to get some things done.

I stopped the subscription three months ago and I'm still getting the bill and taking the money out of my account. So disappointing! I've been on the phone and online for several hours trying to resolve this issue, but no results yet. I made a claim with my bank but they said I still have to get in touch with them to cancel something that I already cancelled (which I have the email as proof that I cancelled it) otherwise on February there would be another withdraw from my account. It is very frustrate. this application is for little kids, at some point they won't be using it again. When you want to cancel the subscription you would encourage this problem, which is a pain on the neck. for this reason I won't recommend it!

No matter how many times I uninstall this app, everyday it installs itself. I've turned off auto updates, and have done everything I can think of. It's terrible I want it off my device. update: no matter what is done, even after uninstalling, turning off auto updates, disabling app from settings, whenever there is an update that is pushed out from Samsung Kids it turns the app back on the Tablet. It's terrible.

This can in no way be consided a system app. It is a great waste of space. There is no way to delete it. Samsung responded by saying "If the app is pre-installed we do not have an option to uninstall." Samsung can you provide an installable clean image without pre-installed apps most users would never install? And can you pledge to release future firmware versions with only minimal nonsense pre-installed.

Good isolation app, lack of control. I don't have anyway to pick or find educational apps where I know they are learning and not just playing. Tone limits don't really help when I can't distinguish more between types of apps. It is also a little annoying that in order to adjust screen brightness you have to logout and log back in...

I bought a subscription for my grandkids and they use it pretty much daily, which makes it worth the $. It challenges them and isn't ust a video game or computer game...it's a learning tool of which they think they're playing games. I did have another subscription to a learning monthly mailbox package, which was in the enda bit more pricey for what they got. Will I renew each year? Absolutely

It's a nice app. Very colorful and cute. I did the trial because I wasn't so sure. I was surprised that every game needs to be downloaded and some of the character you see there will have no data. (Peppa pig, elmo.) Don't know why or maybe had problem with downloading but I tried numerous of time since daughter loves them. Also no sesame Street. So definitely wasn't right for us. However is easy to navigate for Lil ones, easy to create profiles, and easy to set up parental control.

***UPDATE*** There are still instances where the app will freeze but it has happened less since the update of the app. Giving the new update 3 stars for now. The new update looks great and my 4 year old was excited that he got an upgrade as he called it. I have noticed that the games freeze up quite often and even when we close a game out. The glitches need to be fixed! I hate having to keep restarting my sons tablet just to unfreeze his favorite games. PLEASE FIX THE PROBLEMS WITH YOUR SYSTEM.

Ral. R. Oct 23, 2018

Incredibly buggy. You can't set default storage to sd card, and moving them over is problematic since the last update. Lots of crashes and freezes as well. Good selection of games that are ad free. By far better than Google play store which has paywalls with every click of every game my son plays.

Love this app. Keeps my kids engages without me worrying too much about what kind of content they are getting exposed to. I do not like that most of their apps require downloads ( as opposed to just being able to open and play in app) I also don't like the downloads because they take up quite a bit of space in the kids devices that Samsung sells and most apps wont download/transfer to the Sim card. If Samsung can fix that disconnect- this would be a winner.

Dan. H. Nov 20, 2019

I loaded this app so my grandchildren could use my phone for wholesome entertainment and not accidentally be exposed to inappropriate content on the internet. I also like the security feature which prevents them from exiting the app, (it takes a four digit code which they do not know), and inadvertently making changes to my existing apps or settings on my phone.

This is such a great app. So educational and so many options that they’ll always be something to play. We have been using it for 4 years now and it is still our best friend on road trips. I love that I can keep him locked in the app and just add other things that I will allow him to use to it. A few adjustments could be made to the age appropriate settings. Just so kids can’t download higher educational stuff too soon but other than that super amazing app.

It's useless to me also. I keep Uninstalling the updates, but every 2 days it keeps installing it back on it. It's a pain in backside to keep going back to it constantly. Because of this, and random shifts of apps from my SD card back to device storage, I keep having low memory alarms and slow performance. It would be helpful if all storage shifts were permanent and more apps were available to be moved to SD storage. Right now I only have 5 that can be and it only moves half the app to SD while a big chunk remains on the device. All my other personal apps cannot be moved to SD card so I run out of memory or do without the apps. Btw my SD card is 64 GB.

Our family loves the Samsung kids app. I love that there are books, games and mostly educational items. I love that other apps can easily be added via parents mode. I deducted a star because parents mode rarely seems to work. When attempting to access parents mode most of the time the app closes all together. I did clear the cache and data as instructed by customer service but it is still happening. Overall a fantastic safe app for kids.

So easy to use, already set up with kid friendly perimeters, so no worries about what my son is doing. So many different things for him to discover, books and games, had this for 3 years now and he still hasnt discovered it all. He loves the Charlie Brown books, I love how interactive it is, I believe these books taught him to read. Only advise I have is to buy a memory card, storage fills quickly.

I love this app, Not only is it educational and engaging for my kids, it is also entertaining and can be used without wifi. So, basically my kids can use it anywhere. Honestly it makes travelling so much easier. It has loads of kids interactive, engaging and educational content appropriate for kids ages 3-12. It is also inexpensive. It is really one of the best out there.

I am very unhappy with samsung at this moment. On March 23 I signed up for a free trial. I was immediately charged 39.99 for a years subscription. Upon opening the app I soon realized that you have to download every game individually. My tablet has only 16 g and with all the preloaded apps that came with it I didn't have room for more than a few games. I sent an email to samsung requesting my money back and still, two days later, have not heard from them. Very disappointed.

it's a good app for the kiddo having free reign. i would recommend getting a memory card for the tablet, and switching all the downloaded games on the the card, and not on the physical memory, as it will fill up quick. i did like the old platform. it wasn't as easy for the kiddo to download a game and not knowing it.

Amazing way to get kids started with technology. Our kids' first tablet came with Samsung Kids. They loved it when they were younger (under 7yrs old). There is alot of educational content and learning tools on how to read and other fun videos. Once they got older though, I would say that the content was harder for them to relate to. They felt like there wasnt enough new videos etc. Overall though, this is a great product to start kids off with technology!
