Samurai II: Vengeance

Samurai: Way of the Warrior was featured in Best Games of 2009 by Apple – Samurai II is a true successor, aided by over a year of focused development. Overall production values and vicious action put Samurai II on par with console 3D brawlers. Screenshots don’t do Samurai II justice – the fluid action has to be seen running at 60 frames per second.
But looks alone won’t carry a game – the developers listened to fan feedback and improved gameplay throughout. With a new virtual d-pad, dynamic camera, environmental puzzles, traps, and vicious new enemies, Samurai II is brand new experience for hack ‘n’ slash gamers on the go.

Samurai II sends Daisuke on a quest for revenge across the war-scorched countryside. From a seafaring village to a flying fortress to the legendary Isle of the Dead, the samurai will stop at nothing to hunt down his arch-enemy Orochi. Will he get his Vengeance?

FEATURES:

★ Intuitive virtual joystick ensures you’re slicing up baddies, not swiping the screen.

★ Dynamic camera finds the best perspective for each encounter, adding variety while keeping focused on the action.

★ Tense, quick and gory battle sequences!
- Battle hordes of on-screen enemies wielding new weapons and sporting unique abilities.
- Stay nimble and plan your attacks – roll out of harm’s way and eliminate ranged enemies like the Samurai Archer before they can strike.

★ Improved game play includes new features.
- Solve environmental puzzles, avoid dangerous traps, and discover useful items.
- The fight is on
- not to worry, the combat never takes a back seat to platforming or fetch-quests.

★ RPG elements reward skilled players – upgrade the Samurai’s health, buy new attack combos and upgrade them to devastating levels.

★ Between levels, gorgeous anime-style comic panels tell the samurai’s tale with original hand-drawn artwork.

★ New survival mode pits the samurai against waves of enemies, giving hardcore players a score-attack mode to hone their skills. Two games in one!

★ Advanced AI system on par with console games. Goal Oriented Action Planning architecture is used in many PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 games.

★ Original soundtrack – in classic samurai movie style, soft music builds with the heat of battle.

Mind you I am aware that this is an old game, but after rebooting from not having played it in a long while, I have experienced some glitches. None of the controls appear on the screen and what little control one does have over the action is very unresponsive. So might as well try to uninstall and then reinstall it. And after doing just that problem remains the same hence, uninstalling the game. Well it was nice while it worked.

This game is not bad! Graphics are actually really amazing. Love the style and sound of the music and art. Control response time could use some improvement and could be smoother. More seamless. Gameplay value is moderate to high. Game features are basic at best (upgrades, events, game modes, etc.) Love the comic book style of the story but story could use more depth. Overall, a good game that most players will truly enjoy. Have fun!

Really enjoyable little game. The combat is sound and satisfying. The biggest issue I had was that one ability overshadowed all the others - the one that knocks enemies down. Since all the other abilities are blocked much easier, but take more time to pull off, often they just weren't as good to use. While the game was a lot of fun, it's very short & there's no replay value. Also, the high scores in the Dojo section appear to be cheated, but it's not something that really affects anything.

The best game on mobile. The visuals are extremely beautiful, so are the surroundings, cuts are clean and combos can be chosen according to the situation. I love the concept of the shop, you can buy combos and upgrade your health mid fights with 'Karma' points. It's extraordinarily light on battery and memory, you can literally pause the game and minimise it for all eternity but when you go back to the game, there will be an option to resume from where you left off. Is there gonna be a sequel?

Incredible game. Short, but incredible. Easy to pick up and put down, and the combat mechanics are intuitive. I love the transitions between stages! It doesn't contribute to gameplay, but is evidence of a very well thought out game. The storyline and graphic novel themes are gripping, and the game wasn't constantly asking me for money. Super rare for a game of this high quality. Excellent job.

Great! but, and its a big but for me. I can move my charector with my xbox one control stick, but thats it. Not attacking. Game is suppose to support them yes? I didn't get an option for a refund, or I may have went for it. Or, a dev can help me? That would be amazing. Hence the 5 star rating for now, because its a great game otherwise.

5 out of 5. Great and amazing gameplay. Great story line. This game reminds me of ghost of tshumia a little, because when you fight the bosses in the game, it reminds you of ghost of tshumia. Overall, highly recommend. Keep up the fantastic work. If you do put online..please put it as beating bosses online..where you can face just bosses, level up, upgrade, etc. That would be good but this game is set for and is for only offline honestly.

I think this game is "out-of-town" from my perspective. I love the hack-and- slash vibe that it puts from inspirations taken from Bloodborne, The Witcher and Star Wars Battlefront (Heroes vs Villains melee/lightsaber combat). To put this in a cellphone is great and the controls are pretty solid. Graphically, it looks appealing and the title of it doesn't sound so generic. One issue that I have with it though, is that it has too short of a campaign and the training mode can get very repetitive.

I can't believe I waited so long to try it. I guess some bad comments stopped me. The graphics and physics are really good. I also like the story and the finishing moves. There are decent number of combos so whoever said its only 2 fighting buttons I guess is just too limited... btw I think it needs some different bosses and enemies. An update or even dlc would be awesome. Even if its paid :)

Am a controller player and this game is a lot of fun but it doesn't support pg-9076 controller very well. The analog works fine but non of the buttons work excluding the start button, you'll touch the screen to fight and use the analog to move around and this is a problem. Please fix this in future update.

Gamepad support isn't working. After the initial opening explanation, the screen showing the gamepad layout vanishes too quickly to read. Was able to control the player with the joystick but none of the buttons would work. Using a button mapping app wouldn't even work. Please add some sort of mapping/configuration to the pause menu. Thanks.

Awesome game, the only drawback it has, once you complete it, twice or trice perhaps, you will inevitably face the need to find some other game capable to deliver this magical samurai experience. Swords whistle with menace, chopped off limbs falling uselessly on the ground, blood sprays with it's own horrifying whistle. Japanese classic music and falling Sakura petals in the air. Unfortunately, you will not be able to find anything like that and will complete this masterpiece once again instead.

Game is fine even though gets repetitive after a while. I'm wondering ehy though after the second level i cannot go onto the other levels. They are seen as locked on the game screen , and I didn't get any message or any explanation. I finished the levels on ronin mode, and then it just stops at 2nd level. Shat am i missing? Please reply

small size, simple concept, good graphic not the best but it is good. with the blood effect and all that. this game is just strong, solid. not many bugs like any other small size game do. this game should be winning the best mobile game of all time i think.

Excellent design, D- enemies. Probably best Android graphics ive seen and smooth fighting gameplay as well. However you fight the same 5 or so enemies 100+ times and whats worse, the archers arrows go through everything including walls and other enemies to hit you every time. this makes the game rather annoying

One of all-times Greatest Slasher Games both on Google and Apple markets! Awesome visuals, simple but challenging gameplay, good narrative ... u can't see much of those in modern mobile games. It was much fun when i first played it (as it just came out) and it managed to stay one of my favourites for almost a decade. Bravo!

Very disappointing. The aggravation of gameplay far exceeds reward gained. I thought if I cleared the 1st chapter, I could go back with the new lackluster combos unlocked and farm some coins. Nope...chapters repeated are chapters ended void anything accumulated therein. Passionless creations lust for the loss of $$$.... Once again, game creators think that the people that provide them with a sweet paycheck, are stupid. The best combo in this game: Lazy programming-Katana slashed revenue.

This games how a good game doesn't need to be grandiose. It's so simply made that the file size of the entire game is around 50mb. Yet it's more than diverse enough to keep me interested in playing more until the end. Not having any ads or microtransactions alone makes it a whole other thing. From start to end, you play the game, which is what games are supposed to be like.

Great game, but there's a bug in chapter 7 when fighting the final boss. The boss is literally floating when fighting him. Please check this issue and try to fix. Thanks.

It was a good experience. I really enjoyed this one. Fast paced and never a dull moment. It's way too short. But maybe that's a good thing because you could get burnt out playing this game. Yes it's repetitive. But it's a real challenge to use combination moves. Fast pace and the tempo never shuts down. Devs you really did a superb job at this. I'm not easily impressed, and I definitely don't get excited over mobile games, but this one is different. I can't believe how fast I finished it.and there is another side game, Dojo, ive been playing this for over a month and i cant win no matter how hard i try. Incredible! you have to play this game.

Agi. D. Oct 26, 2019

Control input is lagging, you have to input the combo SLOWLY. If you press the combo buttons too fast, some of them will not be registered. Also the game is short. You can finish 1 chapter in like 7-10 minutes, and there are only 8 chapters.
