The app is pretty frustrating on an Android phone. First, when you want to read an article, you tap it so that it opens. But if you hit your back button, it takes you out of the paper altogether and you have to reopen it from the beginning. Then, some articles aren't set up this way - you have to read them by enlarging them with your fingers. But this is so difficult - it either opens an adjacent article or it is so hard to control the size you can't get it to be readable.
This app is very problematic accessing with Android phone. You have to sign in and resign in every single time you click on an article. Very frustrating!!!
Very nice! Several options offered for reading formats. Cons.. you can't use for lining a birdcage, for package cushioning, or for kindling.
App hangs up. I have a paid subscription but I routinely Uninstaller and reinstall because of the hangup. Frustrating for a pd customer.
Which one of you geniuses put the page turn arrow right on top of the inbetween pages adds? Try to turn the page, you get the add time after time. Duh.
The app was working fine and then it now just hangs on the white Trib loading page.... And never proceeds from there..
This app does not work correctly even if you pay for a digital subscription
Very hard to sign up, meaning, it took 5 tries...the app kept freezing.
Horrible writing from reporters. App is buggy and shuts down mid story.
Great to stay connected to SLO county from long distance!
Just another radical left wing publication. It is quite humorous how The Tribune loves censorship of those that disagree with their left wing views. But hey, this is San Luis Obispo, to be expected.
local news is always fresh
Typical local liberal rag. Not worth the price of a subscription
Read for days. Only one side to every article. Why do local papers do this. I see a neighbors paper. A shadow of what is was a few years ago. To check ahead of the paper staff blaming online taking away customers, staff should look at the reason other papers in small towns are increasing customers. My guess the reason is that those papers do their best to tell a story without a political slant. What keeps the Tribune here? Parent company carrying the loss?
Great, Still...
I've Lived Here On The Central Coast Over 35Yrs. I Used To Get The Local T.T. I Like Being Able To Read It On My Phone. Leaving Out Stories Not Interesting To Me.
I like the app more than the website. After opening up a certain number of articles on the website, it blocks you out saying you need the subscription. On the app I can read all the articles I want.
Like to see what's happening in SLO where son goes to college.
Disappointed with biased reporting
Love it
App updated and is useless unless you have a subscription. It was my main resource for local news. It's very disappointing to no longer have it. I'm on a strict budget, so subscribing is not an option.
This "update" crashed my Nougat tablet. I had to go back to an old backup and rebuild the system. Version 5.17 runs for now, but will not pull down data on any device below Lollipop!! What gives?! Why lock out KitKat devices when the older app will still work?! And WHY can you not at least sort the stories by date!! You have the posting date right there. Stories are just randomly assorted by date (and often by mixed category....) Why do I have to wade through all that stuff that is days old? Put the newest stuff on top. Good grief.
We moved to Oregon to be near our grandkids (4) a few years ago, but lived in SLO for over 40 years. It is so fun to read about all the happenings in your city. Keep up the good work!
Great local news.
Great local, state & national news source for the central coast.
I loved this app till they began trying to charge for the content. There are so many apps that give news for free, who is going to pay full subscription price for this?
Where I read my news.
Waiting for newspaper layout available for iPads to come to Android devices.
I can log in ok using my pc or Firefox browser, but with this android app I keep getting a log in error that my name and password cannot be found.
The Tribune app won't even open on my Android phone anymore. It freezes at the The Tribune opening screen. What good does it do to pay for a digital subscription if I can't read the paper when I'm out and about. From reading other reviews it seems a rather endemic problem for Android users. I really hope you can fix this glitch .
