Sanjo Gayageum(kr)
Gayageum is a typical Korean string instrument. Its origin is traced back to the period of three kingdoms, whose chronicles reported that Gaya’s King Kasil ordered a famous musician, Uruk, to create it. As the kingdom of Gaya dwindled in power, Uruk moved and brought the instrument to Silla. From there, it expanded as a popular musical instrument throughout Korean history—unified Silla, Goryeo Dynasty, and Jogeon Dynasty periods—and is still played today. The instrument can be classified into two types of genres: Jeong-ak (court music) and San-jo (folk music).
- Sanjo Gayageum
- This is a modern-style gayageum used to perform San-jo, a musical genre developed in the nineteenth century. The San-jo gayageum features brilliant, technical solos for performers, who employ a particular vibrato called Nong-Hyun and often play consecutive notes in fast and changeable tempi. To allow for such variations in expression, the size of the instrument is smaller and modified into a box-like shape. Unlike the Yang-Idu in the Jeong-ak Gayageum, the strings of this instrument are suspended on the tail side of the board, and they are called Bong-Mi, meaning a phoenix’s tail.

I love this app, it worked well on my older Samsung Galaxy Tab S SM-T700. But on my new samsung galaxy tab s3, it has string sound issues. When you strum any of the strings several times, it plays the sound only sometimes. Developer/s could you fix this minor problem please. This app was a five stars for me in the past. Until this problem is solved, i have to give it a four.
I was surprised most of these foreigners apps are horrible this is usable. Tried two of their other apps good as well. Good job guys
s great! sounds good, no ads. someone needs to trasnlate the full settings but its quite playable.
Regularly you hit a single note, see it played, but can't hear it. Makes it fairly useless. Would be good if fixed.

You can play Arirang or theme song of Jewel of Palace right away with this app, if you know the songs. Simple and easy. Now I wish to own a real Kayagum.
I love the bright clear sound. I can make very nice sounding music without much effort. I hope they make more traditional instrument apps.
Can't view "about" and does not go into "tuning" screen - just flashes over and disappears. Please kindly fix.

Loved this instrument
By far the best digital string instrument app I ever played yet, it's just perfect, also from sound, the haptic is very sensitive and it's also possible to play many strings in the same time. It's easy and much fun to play and via the menue button at the right bottom there are very complex adjustments possible also, bending the strings is also a very nice extra. If the app may not work properly, try to stop all other apps via the task manager or a propper app like greenify for example. Great work, thank you very much! 👍✨
