Before the last update there used to be Last Sighting information on the Alphabetic Index pages. I now have the Scientific name under the English Name, which, as an amateur birder, is of little interest to me. If there is a space constraint on the screen, then can we not perhaps have an option to see one or the other, as I found it handy knowing if i have seen a bird before. Even when viewing the detail for a bird, there is no indication that it has been seen, so the only way to know is then to switch to the My List view, which is time consuming. Could you not maybe at least indicate that the bird has been seen, either on the Index screen or in the detail information about the bird, or maybe a link from the Bird Detail straight to the sighting information for that bird? Thanks for the latest update that added the sighting information. Works great
The app is brilliant, with gorgeous photos. The added birds sounds are magnificent. But even better than the app is the outstanding support you get from the incredibly patient and marvellously helpful support staff. I am truly astounded at their generosity and kindness, their efficiency and their willingness to go far beyond the extra mile. I will be recommending this app to everyone I know and meet! Thank you!!
No support for a PAID app, importing my list from Google Drive crashed the application, screenshot with error and details was provided to the contact email, did send my device details. No response for more than a week now, all of my sightings now reference some random year all on the same date. Very unprofessional. Can I get refund as this app has bugs and there is almost no support to fix the bugs.
I changed phones and reinstalled the app on the new phone. For some reason the additional file of photos won't install. It downloads about 50% then aborts. I would really appreciate some feedback from the developer on how to solve this problem. As requested I sent and email. Looking forward to a solution,.
Been using this app for a few years and love it, but now there is an irretation. Every time I look at a bird and go back to the list, I have to do another search. For example, looked at an Eagle today, chose one to look at the pics, then when I wanted to look at a different one, I had to search for the eagles again. Please fix.
Purchased this app and have been using it for many years. Got a new phone and I can not install it because it has been disabled from the purchased history and they want you to purchase the new version. I would suggest buying any other birding app other than this one! And I would go so far as to say say that one should not buy any app produced by the devs, I have/had other animal apps too and cant open those either!
Generally a good app that I have found super helpful in the past. Big problem now in that it no longer works! Wants to update but doesn't do anything beyond showing 0 of 0 MB downloading. Don't want to clear my data because I don't want to lose my master list (again). Please fix!
I have used this app since early 2016 enjoying its ease of use for basic info especially when out and about - still return to a book for more detail. I've transferred the app successfully from an LG and then a Huawei, but had no success transferring it to an Oppo. Any advice?
I love this app! My knowledge on birds and their sounds has improved a lot!! Just some small stuff you can add... A tutor on how to use the app. Or a follow guide... And saving the birds to your list is difficult... i have to do it 2 to 3 times before it has a tick next to it. But even with these few downers it stil is an amazing app!!!!
First of all you do not reply to emails - I have sent 2 to you via your website & no response!! Next, I have trieddownloading your app to my new Android phone and on 3 different occasions download has stopped at approx 80% with warning about how much data the download takes (I have an unlimited data package so this is just stupid!). Pity - I was looking forward to using the updated app! Now I'm just Super frustrated 🤨☹
After the new update the UI is something to get used to. One issue though is if I click on the bird name in my personal list it briefly flash a white page then takes me back to the home screen. If I search for the bird and open it, then it works.
I really like this app. But I would love it if more information was added to easily view. For example, the food the birds eat, like seeds, fruit, etc. or the kind of nests they make, like nests in a tree, on the ground, etc. But overall love everything else. The bird calls are awesome.
Sasol eBirds worked well on my old Galaxy S7. However, I can't get the app to work on my new Galaxy A51 with Android 10. I have already uninstalled (including rebooting the phone) and reinstalled the app twice. I got the message "Can't install Sasol eBirds" with the second reinstalling attempt. Available device memory isn't an issue. Most disappointing.
I concur with Joris Menten. It is listed under the order history, however when you click on it, it says that this app is not available. I have been communicating with support for a while and there has been no resolution.
I am very frustrated. If you go to a specific group, for example Weavers and enter a specific species of Weavers and exit again, then it takes you right back to Akalat. PLEASE FIX!!!!!
I have been trying to open this book on my device now for many times. I Uninstaller and installed, it downloads and the when trying to open the book it shows and stays on the download page and does not go on. It says 0% and there it is stuck. Please help🙄
I have just paid R380 and downloaded the app. As I click to open the App, I get a message asking if I want to purchase 2800 new photos. This should be in the app cost. This is not cool. No cost is even mentioned. The only option is to click yes or no. I am going to request a refund and get the Robert's app.
Great app for using in the field. But it cannot count the number of birds in my list. App says I have seen 502 birds and the csv file shows 514! Sort this out, but I have switched over to Birdlasser as it is much simpler to record sightings out in the field.
App stopped working. Stuck on 0MB/0MB screen. Cleared cache - no effect. Uninstalled & reinstalled - no effect. Please assist to resolve. Please make previous version available for download.
It's a scam, definitely not worth buying. I wanted a refund but they refused. I payed a lot of money for this sub quality app and it is only annoying. It doesn't even open because it wants to download extra data and even on a fast fibre connection the download fails and starts all over again. Please refund my money this app is not fit for purpose. I would rather get a refund than this app wasting my time anymore!
I bougth the previous version, but now the new version appeared it is impossible to install the old one on my new device. I bought the app assuming could keep using it on new devices (even it is the previous version). I will not buy apps from this company again.
When trying to reinstall my purchase on my new phone it downloads it but it just won't open! Have u installed and reinstalled numerous times and it just won't work... Have given up trying to ask for help now... TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!
Would refund if I could but Google doesn't offer me one! No help or support either to receive a refund so stuck with a R300+ app might as well have flushed the cash down the drain.
I can not re-install the app after my phone was stolen on my new smart phone. It just goes to updating with a pause button and does nothing. Now I will have to spend R379 for the newer updated version....
No longer working after upgrading to Android 10 - just shows a Pause button with no progress. Clearing cache and data does nothing. Uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing. Very disappointing for an app that cost as much as this one a d has a 400MB download each time it is installed. Interesting that the free Lite edition works fine. Update***. After a full device reset everything works again. So unnecessary, especially at this price point!
