Satellite Time Reader (Free)
This app uses advanced algorithms allowing much quicker access to the time data provided by the GPS circuit. What is incredible is that it can often show correct time and date while other apps still report 0 satellites in view! It has an automatic detection of the best available time and date raw info and uses dimmed text color as notification (warning) about unsettled outputs. Satellite Time Reader has a beautiful, retro-style user interface and will run on nearly any Google mobile/smart phone. This is the FREE version. The FULL version offers the following additional features and settings:a) No advertising banner!b) No permissions for internet access required!c) Setting the system time (transferring the GPS based local time to your system time). THIS FEATURE ONLY WORKS ON SOME DEVICES WITH ROOT ACCESS AND MIGHT NOT WORK ON YOUR DEVICE! This is a limitation of the Android operating system – there is absolutely NO app on the market which can set the system time of a non-rooted device! And: It is not possible to synchronize system time and GPS based local time perfectly. There will always be some deviation (usually less than a second).d) Keep screen on feature (avoid sleep mode while the app is active). Be aware that the GPS receiver draws a LOT of energy from your batteries!e) Additional color schemes (white on blue, white on dark grey)

Some hints:1.) If the GPS time shows a wrong time, takes very long to receive, stops or does not appear at all, the GPS reception is not sufficient. This is not an issue related to the app!
2.) Using the GPS receiver consumes a lot of energy from your battery! It is not recommended to keep the app open for a longer time while it is on battery power only!
3.) If the local time is off by more than half an hour to the real local time then you have selected a wrong time zone in your device. Please correct the time zone FIRST and then the system / device time.
4.) Depending on your GPS hardware (!) this app offers instant (or at least ultra-quick) time info – much faster than traditional GPS monitor / tracking apps or maps based location / navigation apps! Note that this feature is known to work on Samsung Nexus S but cannot be guaranteed to work on your device. Reporting the status (fast or slow) on your device is highly appreciated (please send an email).
5.) You can tap on one of the three sections on your screen to get a short help about what is displayed in this section.

Allows accurate time to be had when no cell/data service is available. Synchronizes to satellites within seconds, long before other apps even start to recognize satellites. Would be nice if it could predict accuracy and do a 'countdown' as it syncs so you can watch it work. Would also be good to try to sync internal clock exactly (to fractions of a second). Unlike other apps that report the GPS time, this one seems to take into account the roughly 15 leap seconds that have occurred so the correct Greenwich Mean Time / Coordinated Universal Time is reported. Between this app and ClockSync by Sergey Baranov (which syncs to 100ths of a second using NTP), getting the exact time on your phone/tablet has never been easier. I've upgraded to the full version, and look forward to improvements. Bug: Screen formatting has been broken since roughly Android 4 through 7 on some phones HTC1M8 and Samsung G7. Would be great to get this fixed.
The ad at the bottom pushes the time displays up so you cannot see them. Makes it pretty much useless.
Always says waiting for data and shows question marks for the time, even when other apps can read gps.
Works just fine on my Samsung GT-i9082. However have seen it not display correctly on a friend's phone and couldn't figure out how to adjust font size.
Shows GPS time, UTC and system time. Great work in progress. If it would sync system time I'd go 5 stars
Appears to work but the font is so large it does not fit in the dedicated boxes.
Font size is much too large on Nexus 5, so the time cannot be seen. It works fine on Nexus 7 (2013).
Works well. Time reception sometimes even works in a tunnel! Problem is however that the fonts are way too large and don't fit on the screen.
Can't see the time because the am/pm indicator fully occupies the display. Apparently the app is no longer being maintained - a shame.
It used to work with lollipop real fine. After marshmallow, is unreadable.Try setting font as tiny and at least you can read.
Thanks, very fast response app. for my Samsung Galaxy tab 2.7.0 Please add difference/off time indicator on screen and add a bit notation/caution about it's accuracy.
I am amazed that all the reports on the way too big font that makes time illegible on some devices has not made it through to the developers. Cannot use it on my Motorola phone.
Dismal failure full of ads and, as many have said, too big for a 5"" screen.
Font a little oversize - partially obscured but readable
Hey devs, do you read these comments? The font size is way to big and it's very hard to read. This is very easy to fix.

Great app, I love everything about it.
Almost as accurate as my Symmetricom time server costing thousands of dollars more than the app and phone combined. I would like to see a time signal tone added and possibly a tenth of a second display, but it is good just the way it is. NTP pool member and self proclaimed time nut.
