Say Cheese Camera

The original voice controlled talking camera. See http://saycheesecamera.com (First released Aug 10, 2011)
Note
* We are currently updating the inapp store frames. The frames are disable for now, but will be back with a new store.

Say Cheese is loaded with innovative voice recognition and response features. This camera app is heavy on useful photographic tools, like a talking countdown timer, highest resolution settings of any camera app, stealth mode, live filters, batch uploading and GPS/Time stamping. Includes on-board help and a free set of live frames.

Serves as a framing provider for framing photos from other apps, including the default gallery. Comes with a built in corner store for getting more than the free frames.

Find the developer's blog here for the latest info: http://www.bestcameraapps.com

Live plug-in frames and texture effects for augmented reality snap shots are very cool. Examples include old retro frames, groovy frames, festive frames and surface texture frames. Live framed photos are fun to make and fun to share!

Snap your photos in six ways: 1) Normal Click that responds with voice according to settings 2) Long press for a quick snapshot and save 3) Ask the camera to take a picture 4) Stealth Mode 5) Shake & Snap Mode 6) Talking countdown timer (a big favorite).

Voice recognition does not clutter your camera with the big dialog visible in most voice recognition apps. Say Cheese Camera is loaded with cool features like the voice countdown timer and the stealth mode for taking secret photos. Uploading to Facebook is a breeze with the multi-select background batch uploader.

Other features include a one touch zoom from anywhere preview of existing photos. Just long press and slide up and down on any photo to zoom in and out. Support for content handlers like Google Goggles and photo editing apps and emailing. There is Document scanning, image resolution settings, jpeg quality, auto save, voice pitch, flash controls, scene modes, effects, stealth mode, location stamping, Hardware button launching, and more.

Immediate feedback forms make it easy to contact the developer right from your phone.

With Say Cheese, you will be surprised by the smiles you will attract from a talking camera. Use the defaults or customize your own responses for insults and compliments.

Have fun! The World is Smiling.

Hi i was looking at dslr selftake kits..... mega expensive. I tried this an its fantastic. At first you feel slightly stupid talking to your phone but it works. The features are as good as my dslr and it does the job as good maybe even better. Try it, have a play with it an you will love it. Thanks developers.

Installed on galaxy ace 2 main reason was to use voice activation to take pictures of carp whilst night fishing. Cant fault it. Ignore those idiots that are nit picking this app , pic quality is great even in pitch black. Voice activation is great ,just say commands clearly . If you own galaxy ace 2 you must get this app. Will download frames at some point, not because i need them but to support developer ..

At last!! The best software for Selfie. Could not fine better. One change please, allow us to save our picture in any folder of our choice such as Gallery. But one big issue, it put my Galaxy Note 3 to Silent all the time. As for the rest, keep the good job.

Got this to record video via voice and unless im missing it i cannot do it. As for rest of the app its quite poor buttons dont size very well at all and its really ugly. Say "cheese" to take a photo works great though. But i want to say "record video"

Maybe I'm easy to impress but I've been through several camera apps and when it comes to function this one is hands down the best. High res shots, the monotone lady is hysterical even if you don't censor her, but most of all the voice commands are so awesome to have. Thanks!!

For an app that has just a few voice commands, it sure is bad at detecting them. In a very minimally noisy room, I have to be about five centimeters away to say "camera switch". How about adjustable sensitivity?. Even with false positives would be OK

Doesn't work now that Verizon upgraded the OS to my Motorola Turbo Droid. Cannot contact developer, so, made this post instead. Looks like this app has been abandoned. No work, no keep! Update, like everything about this app, one must tweak everything about it. For a first time requirement, I had to activate the voice response of the app to get it to work. Not that I will ever require such. Never have had any luck getting any of the voice responses to work in a consistent and reliable manner.

I take lots of pictures of my show rabbits, and it can be difficult to keep the rabbit posed for a photo. I got a phone tripod mounting plate to hold my phone on the tripod. Then I installed this app so I can do hands-free photos. I can get my rabbit posed then say "Cheese" and get the picture. It does seem to be a bit of a problem if I am too far from the phone, so I am going to try this with my wireless mic. Also, I need to do some experimenting on how to get the focus properly adjusted. Altogether though, I am very pleased.

Nice novelty, but controls are bulky for on the fly, controls are accessible, but not easy to adjust quickly. A nice idea, allot of work went in, so cudos. I will check back with this, for updates, and am keeping. But for every day use on quick shots, not yet.

What's happened with this app? This was such a simple but sweet app, but now it won't function properly. And even though I've purchased the frames, I always get an error message that says successful, but then crashes and absolutely will not allow usage. I've emailed the developers but they never respond. I would pay for this app I used to like it that much, but not now. I'm kinda sad they've given up on this app.

This app doesn't take up too much space on my phone. Always a plus. Well done. Don't change a thing.

Won't let me get used to app before able to rate. Also can not find pics taken, and not enough info on how to use. As time goes on, possible higher rating ( We'll see)

Doesn't let me upload photos to Facebook and or make album or use frame can you please fix that otherwise it a good app

Zul. T. Feb 11, 2017

So stupid! Looks so cheap right off the bat. There's no option to switch from front facing camera to selfie. There's a compass that pops up, I don't know why. Voice command does NOT work. Oh and what's up with the stupid video on this page? The video did nothing to advertise the app and its effects. After having downloaded it, now I know why it was just some idiotic "story." There's nothing to this app!

On my Samsung Galaxy Nexus it won't let me look at the gallery and I can't use the live frames please fix this and it would be nice if you could make a setting where it automatically goes to the voice phrase I will definitely rate it 5 stars

Hus. P. Oct 3, 2013

Love the app features and the use of voice control. Unfortunately app is totally unusable for me as I am partially sighted and use the TalkBack screen reader. Please could you consider implementing accessibility throughout the app if possible? Would definitely give 5 stars if that happened. Thanks.

Great developer...very nice. App is cool and works well with my tablet Asus TF700T. The only problem is the frames aren't working but dev says he will be doing an update to fix problems.

A. G. u. Jul 4, 2012

Gallery had empty frames. I didnt take any pictures. When I did it said not enough memory unable to frame. Uninstalling.

Dav. M. Jan 4, 2013

Wow just wow. So so much better than my default camera, easier to take pictures thanks to the countdown timer or just by saying "cheese" :D Oh just brilliant.

Law. H. Feb 3, 2013

For those of you who have had trouble taking pictures of objects in motion, please try this one. Easy to learn to use. The only drawback is max resolution is: 1392x1392. Upload photos immediately to your Facebook, or Google Drive. Try it out!

Eye. R. J. May 13, 2016

The beep it makes when you turn on voice recognition, gets heard as 'noise' then it beeps about that, and it's an endless cycle of noise and ignoring actual speech.

I like this app but every time I take a picture it puts my motorola electrify in silent mode. Please fix

A. G. u. Apr 25, 2012

A. G. u. Nov 23, 2012

Great app, let's you take pics by just saying your programmed phrase! You can set it to shake prompt as well. My daughter and i had tons of fun with it.

A. G. u. Jun 17, 2012

Only thing I feel absent is textstamp (it has datetimestamp and geo-coordinates) so that one can stamp pictures with important note like 'james birthday'.

A. G. u. Aug 19, 2012

This has everything and more. Brilliant. Whoever developed this really thought things through and came up with amazing features. Can't praise this enough.
