Teachers - our experience shows that students love to see Say It displayed on a smartboard! Learners are highly engaged when they see the spelling, IPA, syllable blocks and soundwave in large format. Children in particular enjoy hearing the sound sequence in a word using the 'touch and drag' slow play. Simply connect your device to a compatible smartboard with a USB cable.
Say It generally requires devices released since 2016, running Android 6.0 or later, for optimal functionality.
Say It offers access to some very large wordlists - please be aware that it can take a few minutes to download them, depending on your wifi access and your device.
You can share your recordings with teachers or friends via email. Say It audio and images are not currently optimised to share via other platforms, although this is a feature we'd like to add in future versions.

I'm not sure if this is good for everyone, but mode people will find some value from this app. It's very good for showing the different - ed in English verbs, ch and sh and other sounds students struggle with. It's also great that they can study alone before class if they are embarrassed by speaking. A version for sentences would be great too , one day! Showing the linking sounds and stress. Anyway, this is a good app.
This is a fantastic learning tool for really getting students to work on the specific sounds in words as well as taking into account stress and intonation. The visualisation is very useful way to illustrate areas that need more attention and can be practiced again and again. As an ESL teacher, I have recommended it to all my students so that they can work on their pronunciation skills at home and have used it in class on many occasions.
Its got a lot of potential with both audible and visual feedback.. However, it lacks intuitiveness. The filter is confusing. I thought I could add some words in there to group. But the filter feature is unresponsive. I keep pressing buttons expecting them do something but no action occurs The lookup feature does not allow scrolling through all available words. Instead the starting character has to be input each time to switch to the words starting with a subsequent character.
I had a full membership of this software and I paid money to activate it and downloaded all different downloads available. I changed phone and downloaded it again now she has changed it to a monthly subscription. I feel I lost all my money and download and I am disappointed to see the developer becoming so greedy. This is what I get for my loyalty since 2017 using this app. I feel scammed and will be writing to trading standards as this is violation of UK law.
The new version is just an unfair and arbitrary way to treat early adopters while imposing a new business model. I did not want or need a subscription based app, I don't own any for the same reason. I paid premium for what I needed when this was a one-time purchase app. Early supporters should keep all previously purchased features unlocked forever regardless of the new growth strategy placed for new customers. This is a quick cash grab while screwing old customers in the process.
I paid the full version because it seemed a great deal to eventually go into the app and find a helpful advise about some English words. Now with this update and subscription model I'm upset and I feel scammed. It is nonsense that I cannot even find the words that I have already paid for. I don't need a monthly basis subscription I don't even use this App that often I just want my money back or at least being able to use the App that I paid for.
Paid a full price of more than £10, can not use it any more, contact their customer service and receive their following reply: Hello Gang Wang At the end of last year, we switched Say It to a subscription basis. But all earlier customers should have a 3-month access code on updating, to use all the content in the app for free during that period. If you could send me your receipt to start with, that would be great. Could you also confirm which version of Say It you are currently using?
I received a reply which is basically a reply which is copied and pasted to anyone that has a problem. I have already e-mailed you! I can't close the app! 63% of words downloaded after almost 2 days.... Update - I have now been downloading the 35,000 words for more than 36 hours and it's 53% completed. I sent a polite e-mail but no reply forthcoming. Just be careful... I would like to give more info but it has been downloading the 35,000 words for the last 12 hours and so far it's 27% completed!! Reading some of the other reviews - this is a big concern. I have downloaded other apps etc and nothing like this :(
I purchased the uk pack because this app was one time purchase one. But the new version disabled them and forced me to buy subscription to access my contents which I had purchased already. I demand a full refund of what I paid for them. This app was so brilliant that every english learner should buy. I'm really sad.
Hello, the app as itself is brilliant. Five stars to this app on IOS. But unfortunately the android app has an issue which me and my student we are trying to resolve. My student has paid for the android Say It, he has bought one of the vocabularies. It worked for one week and the this vocabulary dissapeared like it wasn't paid. So we have trying to resolve this issue for two weeks already and from the help center we get just some not answers without real support. Please, contact us and help.
I don't understand the new update. I had paid premium version purchased years ago. With today's update i lost access to the app. All I get is only three months access. This is ridiculous and breach of trust.
I really like this app as I can practise as many times as I want, until I get the pronunciation right. I especially like the fact you can visualise your pronunciation. That helps a lot.
I purchased American English Words from Oxford on December 27, 2020. This morning, I used the app and it kept asking me to subscribe to Premium account. I lost all access to newly paid American English words. I'm really upset with the way you do business as this is misleading to your customer. 01/16/2021: I made decision to uninstall this app from my phone as customer support was not very helpful. I don't want to fall into their trap again after the first mistake to purchase the words list.
barely can use. even paid for American English dictionary, downloaded it, but that didn't help. The app has closed unexpectedly again. I hope to seeing any improvement in future.
I am sorry for a star. I love Oxford University Press books, apps etc. but I have some words about this app. I can not find some basic words in US English. Additionally I purchased English file and there is only less than ten 20 words. What is that? I thought if words can be arranged and filed in levelled stages like C1 B2 etc. it would be more useful.
I first downloaded the free version which worked well, then I bought the paid version and all the list words available. It worked for few days then one day I opened the app and was asked to buy more words... checking the premium link I realised that none of the words I had bought was there... contacted the Oup twice and no reply ... later on, I AGAIN bought all the words. After that the app worked with all the words bought twice. Now all the words gone once more. PLEASE REFUND ME or fix the app.
Hello everyone I love this app, thanks to it, I can learn to pronounce correctly the words that, I have been pronouncing incorrectly for 14 years. A great solution. So far, no one has been able to explain and teach me to accent correctly like this app. with thanks Monika Swierad
Hello, congratulations on this app. I would like to purchase a package, but I have a question first. I see from the trial version that words are broken into syllables, which is great, but when I click on a syllable, the app pronounces it sound by sound or letter by letter and I can't hear the syllable itself but it's components. Is that the case also with the paid version of the app? I'm a teacher and I would like to recommend this app to my students but I would like to test it myself first. Thx
This app helps me realise my wrong pronunciations. I like it, even sometimes I feel frustrated because I can't pronounce correctly follow native voice's samples.
Junk. Be careful people. Do not install. Should be named 'the advert app where you watch adverts and get annoyed and then explode.' Complete waste of time I say. A waste of time!
Brilliant idea, but the app is quite buggy, looking up your recorded words does nothing, and it isn't possible to share your words despite the app's FAQ claiming so. This needs more wɜːk.
It's expensive for me however sufficient app to improve pronunciation. It isn't enough only to improve pronunciation. It's good for words but English isn't words. Theres no Sentences no signs no ohrases no collocations and all others
It would be better if you add sentences so that we could pronounce a sentence altogether...Its good but I'm looking forward to you guys if I could test my self pronouncing a sentence better or not
Like many other users, I paid for the unlimited lifetime access to the prounuciation dictionary in a "pay once" model, but then was forced into a subscription model that I'm not interested in. A dubious business practice.
Really good to improve your pronunciation but doesn't work on my Razer Phone (Android 8.1.0). Do you have plans to fix it? Cheers!

Excellent app but extremely expensive. Could you please bring the price down a bit?
The app is fantastic – the soundwave really helps to correct yourself. I couldn’t find any other apps with this feature. However, massively disruptive is the speed – it takes up to one minute until the search box allows to type in your search text. I find myself frustrated and not using the app as much I’d love to. Question to developers – is there a way to export my recorded words? If I can export them then I could try to fully uninstall the app and reinstall.
