Surprisingly accurate. I tested it using a tv documentary with some Russian clips. Amazingly accurate (checked with subtitles). None are perfect. Bit annoying to continually have the Consent screen popup when pressing the speaker icon. Should be easier to toggle languages. No anglicised spelling for Russian or Chinese (Pinyin). None of them cope well with very idiomatic language.

Works really well. We are so impressed and grateful that this is available, especially to help with local administration in a foreign language. Any errors have been my enunciation rather than a program problem. I love this app and have recommended it to many people.

I like the app a lot. It shows both languages after the translation. But the translated language I have chosen previously was not always saved. Therefore, I would have to continuously change it back to the language I want from time to time which can be frustrating.

Great way to communicate with others but also can be used to test how well you speak another language. Amazingly accurate, although the occasional mistake makes for great hysterical laughter and a lot of bonding and friendship

So far I had no problems with the app. Works perfectly. Great time to find the app as off to Germany in 2 weeks. Perfect for helping my Spanish growth too! If you want something to help speak to someone in a different language this app helps translate everything into the correct punctuation and gramer

So far it has done a great job. It has made a few mistakes, but mostly where it is somewhat understandable ( I ask for a straw, to drink and had me asking for straw, that goats eat. It would be nice if they could make it translate and send to the others phone. Its fast!

Excellent instant translation! Only reason not to give 5 stars is because sometimes difficult to activate quickly enough - would be good to be able to lock in a simple screen for the translation used most frequently by user.

This app helped me communicate with my Brazilian tile installers. Using this was so easy and very precise. Several big issues were solved before it became difficult to resolve because of this app. Just type or talk & the app handles even long sentences.

Thank you Amazon for this amazing piece of technology. We are hosting Ukrainian refugees and it has made the experience wonderful (given the awful circumstances). We can share jokes, humour and of course deep concerns. It also helps the learning of a language as it retains a history of your conversation that can be played back. It is so easy to use.

Very easy to use, it understands my French accent where Google translate often does not, also it keeps a recordof what I have said so I can refer back to it, Google does not. Occasionally it stops working but just close the app and reopen

If you provide offline features with talking conversation. This might be the best translation app to exist if you do this. As long as you provide it still being free. Also provide more languages like Armenian, Georgian and more.

I had tried more than 10 google apps for speech translation. Only this one works consistently abeit the accuracy need to be improved. I think so far no other app could do better.

This is incredible giving text and audio translations instantly to maintain conversation despite lack of mutual language. I couldn't recommend this app more!

I use sayhi for conversing with friends without each other' languages here & abroad & for charity work & my learning. I have found it invaluable but sometimes a little difficult transfer translation to sharing situations. In defence I am 77.

This app is very quick and easy to get some kind of translation. I continually use the edit feature because then I can get the proper words in there because the program can't quite understand my pronunciation of Chinese. It would be better if you could paste into the program right from the start without having to use the edit feature. It would be easier for studying Chinese if it had a feature to tell me what the different pieces of a sentence mean.

Few things to mention. The mic icon indicates that you have to speak to translate, which is wrong, the text translation should be promptly available without going through extra steps. Also, this app doesn't have the option of reverse translation. If you translate from your language to an other one each time you have to manually change the languages you want to translate from and to. This makes a simple translation and conversation time consuming and hassle. Just a terrible design. Not user friendly. Also, the translation voice keep going on vocalized even after I closed the app. Very bad design. I'm uninstalling and will install a more user friendly app.

THIS APP IS SO USEFUL. I'm using it to aid in me learning Mandarin Chinese, and it is so much more accurate than google translate. The speaking feature is also fantastic because it helps me know if I'm pronouncing things correctly. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone traveling to a place with a different language, or to someone learning a new language as well.

Amazing app of the future! I have used it several times on my trip to Hong Kong for Cantonese, Mandarin & Korean. Each use of the translation was very accurate in each. The real time quick translation saved me a headache trying to converse through other means. Great, usable and flexible app. Amazed at all the breakdown and details of each language. I'll be giving it a trial run using it back in the US where I work in the court system. Great work!

I downloaded this app to help communicate with my ELL students and was extremely excited that I could translate to the specific dialect of spanish that they speak. My problem is it it will freeze up or start thinking of a translation and then time out. It never catches what my students are trying to say to me which gets frustrating for the both of us. This app has great potential and hopefully they will fix the problems so people like me can benefit from it.

I have used many of the translation apps. Virtually everything uses Google for the translation. So if you want accuracy comparison, you won't get it with these apps. SayHi uses amazon technology and I have found it to be among the most useful and advanced. I would give the app 5 but it only gives me word translation and no audio pronunciation. Otherwise, I like it a lot.

What a great app, I checked several languages I speak, and they were pretty spot on. Suggestions to software developers are: allow for language swap on the screen a la google translate. Secondly, conversation history setting to allow automatic deletion of history if one so chooses, instead of having to do it one by one and having to verify in two steps that one definitely wants to delete it.

Tried this recently for a video chat meeting....what a fantastic app. It's about 95% accurate but that's impressive considering noise distortionw and speech patterns. It also shows the speech in text which is very good. However, it'd be more useful if we can save or send the texts for future reference. This app can be improved for slower speakers by allowing longer pauses. Deleting end of sentence recognition helps. Increasing the limit per input will be great too.

I am communicating with people of different origins every day and I am impressed that the app even understands some dialects. So far I have tried, English, German, Japanese, Turkish, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Polish, Romanian, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese and found it works quite well. I would like to have a favourite languages option, so that I can switch between the most commonly used languages more easily.

Excellent. Has the edge over Google because Google translates too quickly if you pause for the briefest moment while speaking, and because SayHi keeps the history of what you've been translating. I find this this is brilliant for practising speaking Japanese. The things I'd like changed are: 1/ not show the splash screen and have to wait every time I exit and go back into the app. 2/ turning off Detect end of speech option is not working. 3/ put frequently used languages at the top of the list.

Absolutely love this app! We have been using Google translate now for 5 months and it is continually a source of frustration. It stops translating very quickly after only a few short sentences. It stops translating if the screen times out.... suffice to say, this app is very user-friendly despite a few little shortcomings that I'm sure they're working on like using. offline etc. I also use Skype extensively and it is a great tool for conversing when you are not together

Seriously this App is what you need. Don't waste your time with all the others. I went on a date using this as she did not speak any other langue but French and I had the most fun. I got my taxi drivers asking me the name of the app after using it to communicate with them. It's just perfect. I would even pay for it if I came down to it. If offline mode or WhatsApp and third-party integration could be implemented it would be perfect.
