I don't know why your app isn't working anymore. I've been using it since it started and the past two months I haven't been able to. You seriously need to fix this problem ASAP!!! Prior to that I loved it and would give 5 stars, but I can't anymore. I've even called Kroger directly and they said it was an app issue that they are working, twi months later with no updates or the problem being fixed. Smh

When the app works, it makes shopping more convenient. It's nice to scan cases of water without lifting or waiting for an attendant. It is also helpful to scan once and increase the quantity when buying multiples. Unfortunately, the app still has some bugs. Often, when I try to log in, it says "cannot authenticate credentials," and I have to restart the app repeatedly. Other times, it says, " We are experiencing technical difficulties, " and I cannot use the app at all, even after restarting.

The concept behind this app is great. Unfortunately, the execution here is pretty poor and I've experienced the same issues as several other reviewers - glitches, slow response, connectivity problems, hiccups at checkout, and so on. Until the app is running smoothly, it would be nice if the stores would bring back the in-store scanners. Attempting to use the app today easily doubled the amount of time required to do my shopping. Definitely not a great experience.

I love the idea. I used the handhelds before they went away. The app is good, but not great. The biggest issue is if it mis-reads a barcode for any reason, or scans a wrong barcode (like those little square barcodes right next to the real one), it requires a human checker look through your cart, you can't pay online and go. I wish it were integrated with the store shopping app, I find myself switching back and forth to find stuff.

Very easy to use and overall great! But if it weren't for COVID-19 which has caused the handheld scanners to no longer be offered, I'd be using those instead of this app. The app is not as reliable in scanning barcodes. Theres no way to make the camera's focus cooperate so you have to keep moving the camera around for a minute til it magically works. And there's no way to have it remember your login.

It's SO slow! It takes over a minute to add things to your cart. I've tried this on multiple shopping trips just to give it more chances, but it's slow every time. My store got rid of the little scanners, so we're forced to use the app. However, because it's so slow, I just don't bother doing "Scan, Bag, Go". I've also tried turning off the Kroger wifi and use cellular data, but it does not fix the long loading times. So I have no clue if the app itself is just slow, or if it's the wifi. Either way, I don't recommend this at this time.

This app, theoretically, is ideal! However, when I tried to use it at Kroger when the handhelds were out of service, the app was excruciatingly slow, didn't recognize the UPC, or failed to update. I tried it with the stores WiFi and on regular 4GLTE+, and it made no difference. I would love to be able to use this app, but until it is improved, it is useless.

This is quite literally the last functional app on my phone. 90 plus percent of the time it does not function appropriately (or at all). Half the time you can be sign in. Then, when you do get to sign in, it will scan something and fail to update the list, so you have to close and reopen the app and spin the roulette wheel again to sign on. It also fails to recognize when you're in a store. By far the worst is the re-sign in as if it fails, you lose everything you've done. Start over, Kroger!

As of October 13th.. I can no longer log into the app. Customer service days they are still having technical difficulties. It's been a week. Thank you for responding, however after reinstalling the latest version that was supposed to fixed the issue, it still gives the same error. I've contacted the store, they only could say they have been having a lot of problems. I'm hoping you can fix the app, as it improves the shopping experience. Even today when I shopped the local store, it would have been nice to do a price lookup on the items I did not buy because they were missing prices.

The function of the app seems completely dependent on the in store Wifi and the quality of the connection. I have shopped many times with the devices they have in store. Never had a problem other than some annoying items that scan needing assistance that they haven't fixed. The app was PAINFUL. On average it took more than 20 seconds from scan to it registering in the cart. I had numerous network errors. Scanner turns on the light, which makes some things unscannable. That's when I gave up.

Horrible!!! It would be great if the scanning wasn't completely dependent on their wifi. The wifi constantly bumps you off, so you end up spending half your time reconnecting. If you miss a single scan (i.e. it misreads the barcode, then you have to go through self-check, and a clerk look through everything and play 50 questions about why you have an item not found error. WAY more trouble than it's worth. Get it together, Kroger. Sam's has an app that's flawless. Maybe look at theirs.

I love this app, although there is one irritation. I love being able to walk out of the store without ANY checkout lines. We walk past the self checkout, and I show my phone to the attendant and walk out. The whole checkout can be completed without standing in line, or touching any buttons. It is a great feeling! That is as long as you haven't picked up one of the special controlled items. If you happen to pick up a single controlled item, it forces you to go through the self checkout line.

Thought I'd give this a go since I've been having so many issues with the in-store scanners, but after failing to work at all the first few times, I wasn't thrilled. It finally managed to scan stuff this time, but then it wouldn't let me check out. Kept giving me a Network 300 error, even though I was definitely connected to the wifi. This service is supposed to be convenient but it causes more issues than anything.

I use the app in store. I have no problems scanning, the app works very well. Even adding 2 of an item or removing an item is very easy. My problem comes at the check out. I am done shopping and then it gives me an error. I end up having to wait in line anyway so I can scan the order. Then I have to pay thru the register. I hate that because I like the app to save my past orders.

Used this app for the first time today. Scans wonderfully, much better than store scanners. But when I completed my shopping and tried to checkout it had an error then my entire cart was lost and i had to take everything out of the bags and rescan. Clerk said they'd had a lot of issues with the app. I hope they fix it because it seemed like it would have been very convenient.

Terrible app, would be fine if it worked. I rarely can scan a bar code on the first try which is frustrating. However, the fact that the app keeps claiming "Network Error" while in the store has convinced me to stop using it. The first 4-8 times I get the network error, I can reload the app and transfer my cart, but twice now, my entire cart has been deleted. I have heard Kroger is getting rid of the scanners that they provide, so I guess it's back to long checkout lines.

When this app works it is fantastic. However, it's had several bugs along the way and for the last 5 or 6 trips to three store, it hasn't been able to locate the store even though we're standing inside it. We've tried turning off wifi, connecting to the store's wifi, uninstalling & reinstalling the app, talking to customer service & store manager ... all to no avail. Please fix this ASAP. It makes grocery shopping at your store such a bigger hassle when it isn't working.

Just don't bother. The app read an item as being $60 more than it was marked, leading to a $72 item that I had to remove and rescan. It did it right the second time, but because of this, I couldn't use pay now, had to go to the check out anyway, then it needed a manager to come over and clear a code because of some bug with removing an item over $50 in value from a "cart." It took me significantly longer to shop and check out than if I had just gone through the regular or self check out. That extra 25 minutes was not worth getting $5 off my purchase. All but one of my items needed multiple tries to get it to read the bar code at all. Then the alarm yelled at me on the way out because the system reassigned the stuff I bought I guess, according to the manager who had to help me troubleshoot the $50 removal bug. Oh yeah, then the system printed out a buggy receipt for 7 phantom items in addition to my actual receipt, so I got two. Things that were nice, because it wasn't all a complete nightmare: I was able to log in no problem with my rewards alternate ID. There was no lag at the produce scale (though I had to try scanning the bar code 6 times, once it did it was surprisingly fast. Still a cumbersome system though) It was fairly easy to use. Even for all its bugs, its simple UI is straightforward. Things that could use improvement other than obvious system wide bug fixes: Could be integrated with the rewards coupon app so you can see the weekly ad, load coupons, and scan and check out without needing to open a different program all together. It turns on your camera flash to see the barcode, but the stores are very bright inside so this just creates needless glare on the semi-gloss surfaced price stickers. Just omit the function of having a flashlight, most phones can do this externally if really needed. Which it won't be because customers are never ever going to be shopping in the dark, if they are they have bigger problems to worry about then getting their cheese scanned in correctly. Please make it so that items can be removed from the cart without manager assistance, no matter the price. And also it would be useful to have a report function for scanning errors, also please don't require cashier assistance if that error item was removed from the transaction. Just don't require cashier attention, hardly ever, rare circumstances only. The whole point of this app is to make it easier and faster. It isn't if you don't trust your customers enough to use it by themselves. Bottom line, frustrating on just about all counts. Though I understand some of the app error might have more to do with the store side system than the app itself, but it's hard to say which was primarily responsible for most issues I encountered.

The app replaces the handheld scanner. The former system saved 40% of my time. Handheld scanner takes one hand to operate. It's point and shoot. The camera on the phone takes two hands. I have to move the phone around until getting the UPC within the frame. I use a cane. Apparently the designer failed to take that into consideration. I need a third hand. ... Oh. Water isn't conducive to the longevity of my phone. The random showers in the produce section get the phone nice and wet.

Used for the first time at Fry's in Maricopa, AZ, yesterday. I had used the scanners until they were taken away. The app was slow to update after each scan, but the ability to put in quantities instead of scanning each "like" item was nice. I need my receipt, though! I'm on hold with Kroger Financial (?) after spending 10 minutes with a customer service associate on the same call who couldn't locate my receipt. It's crazy they don't let you see your receipt in the app. I can see all my Sam's Scan & Go receipts. This phone call has been dragging on for over 20 minutes and I'm STILL on hold. Please pick up the phone!

My overall experience was pretty good. Everything worked as expected. There were two concerns I had. First, it took a while to process the barcode. With multiple items in the same area, this got annoying. The second problem was that I received no receipt once I paid for the merchandise on my phone. Maybe the clerk who handled the verification should have given me one. Or, I could have gotten one via email. Also, the first clerk had no clue that the Scan, Bag, Go app was available.

Removing the in-store scanners and forcing users to download an app is an awful move. I tried to use this but was frustrated before I even left the produce section. There is poor reception throughout the stores, so each scan takes several seconds to a minute to fully process, not even including needing to use the scales. I'm uninstalling the app. Very dissatisfied.

Brilliant! Today I used this for the first time:. very simple and intuitive for this ageing man who frequently finds technology frustrating. Perhaps earlier versions had glitches, pushing down the score, or today was exceptional. Of all the items I bought, nothing took more than 3 seconds to scan. Quantities are easy to adjust if you're buying many of the same item. First time: flawless.

Items on sale have issues scanning sometimes. It will say to take the item with you and have an associate help, but that would ruin the whole point of this. It worked perfectly during my last visit, so it seems to be hit or miss. The app will not stay logged in to my Kroger account. This is a major pain as I don't use a weak or common password, I have to check my password manager and copy it over each time. This is the biggest complaint I have about this app. Some areas of the store don't get a great WiFi connection. This means that you may have to leave items in your cart until you get back towards the main part of the store. I have not yet tried paying from the app itself, but I will likely give that a try during my next visit. It's not all bad. This app works decently well. There is definitely room for improvement, but given you have a decent camera on your phone, there shouldn't be any issues scanning everything. Being able to checkout in a few seconds is definitely better than unloading and re-bagging everything. One great thing is also that this encourages reusable bags. Something I was really bad at is now starting to become normal for me. Give it a try.

Used this for the first time today. It works great!!! It scans better than the scanners they had at the store. You can pay on the app without even going to a register or waiting in line. I had zero issues with this app it was awesome! You can easily see what you've got so far and you can tap items to remove or change the quantity. Loved using it!!!

It was very difficult to get it to register my store but finally was able to get it to recognize where I was. Started shopping and scanning was a bit slow but functional. When scanned one item it didn't recognize which then required associate assistance at check out and prevents paying with mobile. With the scanner tool all that was required was rescan of the item. All of that would have been a 3 star review. However, at the end (after paid, order closed, etc) the app would not release my phone
