School Gateway
• Your school must have School Gateway before you can use this app.
• You must turn on push notifications for the app to receive messages and updates from your school.
• To register/login your school must have your email address and phone number on their schools system. If you can’t log in please check these details are up-to-date at your school.
• Your app will automatically display information for multiple children /schools as long as the schools use School Gateway. Please check your email address and mobile number at all your schools match.
• If other members of your family want to log-in please make sure their email address and mobile number are also registered with the school.
The school controls the functionality available to you – some parents will have more than the basic messaging functionality including being able to make payments to school, view breakfast & after-school clubs, view timetables, notify of absence and update contact details.

This is a great app for keeping up with my child's school related info, however, it often crashes. When I get an alert that there's a new achievement or a new message, I tap it and it launches the programme, however, it does nothing for a few seconds and then closes itself. If I open the app without tapping the alert, it works fine.
Great app. Really useful features and really easy to use. Only issue I've had obviously got introduced at some point in the past during an app update. I've always run the app inside Samsung Secure Folder and it's always worked. I recently change my phone and now the app won't work inside the Secure Folder container. But it works fine if run outside the container. Please fix this and you'll get 5*'s.
It's absolutely appalling. It doesn't send you notifications at all and you have to check it several times a day for new messages from the school. Yes I have notifications set up for the app on my phone and I've also tried uninstalling/reinstalling it and it still doesn't work. I've missed several important notifications from the school in the last month which has caused great stress and upset.
Doesn't work properly on my S10. Push notifications don't work since I upgraded my phone, which means I have no idea when school are sending me a message. I've missed several important messages as a result. I've tried to contact the support email but no one replies. Unfortunately, it's not as if I can uninstall and use a different service as this is the one school subscribe to, so I'm stuck with it and having to try to remember to regularly check to make sure there are no new messages.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled time after time but I am still not getting push notifications when school sends a message. I have all appropriate settings on my phone so the issue is clearly within the app itself. Very disappointed as I've missed important messages from school where child has been left at school due to clubs being cancelled via message through this app. Please help!!!
Missed notifications, I have had this app for a few years and all was good until recently. I'm not getting notifications and I missed and invite to see my eldest get an award in assembly 🙁. My notifications are turned on, on my phone and I have removed the app and reinstalled it but this hasn't worked either.
Been using this app for years and it's been great. But all of a sudden after the summer holidays I no longer receive a notification when there is a message. I've removed and reinstalled. Checked notification settings and still nothing. Missed 3 messages today to collect child due to confirmed covid case in class
the payment part of this app is fine, though being able to pay smaller amounts would be good. but i don't get notifications at all, i have all notification permusions on, i have told school who's only response was "it must be another app you have interfering" so i turned all other notification permissions off and still don't get notifications. i can not ve checking for messages every ten minutes just in case
Theoretically great, but as has been mentioned / requested / begged for many times already, there is still no function to save payment details or use Apple Pay / Google Pay or PayPal. Its been mentioned that saving direct debit card details is a possibility but am yet to succeed on that front, and regardless, that wouldn't work for ad-hoc payments. This significant gripe aside, the app is handy for accessing useful info and links to external material and references.
The app was fine to begin with but I'm no longer receiving push notifications which means I'm constantly missing messages. I've checked my settings and definitely have allowed notifications from this app. It's very frustrating.
There really needs to be an option for separated parents to have their own apps. Or at least let you pay for clubs individually and have it known which parent is booking. If my ex doesn't bother paying and gets into debt I can't use any of the clubs when I need too.
It's ok, but the lack of low balance alerts (which everyone seems to ask for) is very frustrating as it results in children missing meals. We have to use the app, but given a choice I would find something else which doesn't lack such basic functionality.
Any chance all this maintenance can fix the notifications. I've lost count of the amount of important notices I've missed from school because this app doesn't notify of messages even when notifications are turned on. Useless unless I check for messages every hour of every day.....and same response to everyone. Why not just fix the app?!!!
Works really well...most of the time! I've been using this and recently discovered you could cancel bookings using the app but now all of a sudden it doesn't seem to let you. This was a really handy feature and saved time calling school up.
Terrible app, unable to receive notifications. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it with no success. I have contacted school gateway and still no further forward. Annoying that I am not receiving important messages from the school.
Pointless Doesn't work. Or well I csn load it but I never get a single notification despite having same phone and installing it multiples of times. Even school have no idea. I've missed important notifications because of this...
Payments are frustrating. I use childcare vouchers which I appreciate the school has to enter manually. But the way the app works, I can't put money in a pot to use, the money has to go on a specific club and I have to ask for manual movement of funds to anything else that pops up, like activity days. It gets messy and confusing. I like the messaging and absence features.
Up until the new update it was ok to use...PayPal would be better option to use on it to pay instead of having to enter my bank details multiple times for each child I have...now I cant even top up, no options to pay, online says I no longer have a valid email...school has every thing right as ive already checked, really annoyed that both my children are showing that their account in now in debt!
This app is very poor. Notifications DO NOT WORK on my phone. Yes, notifications are turned on. I can uninstall, reinstall, log in, log out, still no notifications. Effectively if I want to know if I have a message from school I have to manually check the app every day, making the app completely pointless.
Totally frustrating ... I get messages from the school I can see money I've paid and dinners had. I can't add payments only have a message that says only available where the school has online reporting. Checked with the school they said everything is ok at their end. So I've uninstalled and added again, checked my email is correct, changed my pin and still not able to use the app. Pointless
Used to work well but recently it has stopped receiving push notifications meaning I have to keep checking for any messages or updates. Notifications are switched ON in the App settings. The lunch money balance has never worked either which means I have to guess how much money is left on my child's account.
A really good app to use. Nice that I can pay for everything for school on it. My problem is before the summer holidays I could receive messages from the school. Today I got a notification of a message received when I went to look at it, the app only shows me the last message I received from July 🤔 no new message!
This app is Mediocre at best. It's largely worked to book pre / after school clubs, but my payments never show up as a positive balance in the app, and often booked sessions don't show either youre just left guessing. Navigation is clunky too, all in all not impressed.
Not great lately. Since upgrading to s9 in December i don't get any notifications at all. They are switched on but don't do anything. Very annoying as miss important information. I have tried deleting and reinstalling but still not getting notifications.
The app has removed my direct debit option without notice and I have no other option but to pay by credit card. No way of reporting faults except coming here. Only support are videos that are ridiculously small that I couldn't see what they were doing.
Update: After uninstalling and reinstalling the App it now works. The app never notifies of a message despite Notifications ON and a sound assigned to this App. I have never received a notification and many parents at my child's school also have the same problem.
Very happy with this app, great for recieving last minute messages/reminders from school, ordering lunches, paying for trips etc. I did have an issue where I wasn't receiving push notifications despite them being turned on. Contacted customer services and it turns out as I'd upgraded my phone I was still logged in with the previous handset. They logged me out of the old, I logged in with the new and hey presto! Very speedy customer service. I highly recommend.
