Science Journal

Science Journal is a tool for doing science with your smartphone. You can use the sensors in your phone or connect to external sensors to conduct experiments on the world around you. Organize your ideas into projects, make predictions, take notes and collect data in multiple trials, then annotate and explore your results. It's the lab notebook you always have with you.

Has functions mostly I don't need. I use this app just for quick measurements to know level of noise, or light; mostly pushed by curiosity. I'm not interested on experiments therefore nothing to cloud up. Continuosly asking for sign in is very boring. Pls provide the option to reduce it into a basic measurement only app, and, maybe in the future, if I start doing experiments I may switch it to full interface. Thnx!

I would want some tables for noting observations and easy notes shortcut for on the go data writing. We want more of a complete app as this just add photos and other readings directly on the feed which looks chaotic and isn't the feature one would like.Features like stopwatch, timer, can make more real-time use case scenario. Also if exporting option could be added in pdf or other forms that will be of great help. These feature will make it a great app. I hope the developers read this comment.

I have instantly fallen in love dear develeopers I some small suggestions I think would make this app better. A unit converter / calculator similar built directly in. Also while I applaud your ease of use explanations I wish you guys provided more scaled detail, for example your light sensor lux lumen explanation is near perfect, things like mps are more general perhaps a listing similar of values and real world examples. Otherwise thank you! Just Mar I just discovered it today.

The app exposes a lot of your phone's sensors. You can measure: Luminosity Sound intensity Sound pitch Acceleration (on all 3 axes) Magnetic field Atmospheric pressure A lot of data for the ones interested in sciency things! Want to test your paranormal powers? Use this app! You'll discover you don't have any, you'll find a bug in the app, or you'll get rich!

Once uninstalled if reinstalled doesn't recognize your files. If you tap on .sj file you get a message no applications and takes you to useless Google Play search. Arduino version just as bad. Neither allows real export to anything sharable like pdf. First time I've ever rated a program so bad. Now the experiments I did are useless.

Found this app extremely useful and versatile. It could use a more user friendly UX (eg. If the experiment name goes too long, the heading hides half of the name. This makes it a little confusing if we are running experiments with similar names)

I guess children think a lot differently or maybe ir's just google designers, again, but right from the first click I couldn't use this site. I'm 65, wanted to use the light measuring application, found the tutorial on Youtube and thought hey, this is simple! I downloaded it but as so often happens with google the tutorials never match the actual experience, as I say, from the very first click my screen looked nothing like the tutorial screen. C'mon guys, get your acts together.

Add dark mode to the app, and not only have tools for physics experiments only, please add some bio & chemist related tools, utilities or presets to the app. There's a little scrolling bug in the "image selection" area.

I don't know how to solve this problem, it can't synchronize through cloud... I did many different things but no ... app amazing, 4 stars 🕜🕡🕦🕣🕥🕧 6 month later... Problem was : phone was from USA I used it in "Russia play market", when I change market back to USA it start to work perfect 👍

Unintuitive, and failed to sync to my work Google account. This needs more structure and especially a tutorial and/or demo experiments. As is, it seems like typical Google fare; unfinished and lacking in solid GUI.

This app is replaced by Arduino science journal before this app was taken offline, so open your experiments in that app: search the .js file in the download folder (unless you moved it) and click it. Open with Arduino science app and it shows up. If you want it to have the original date, change your device's date and time. Don't forget to change date and time back to actual time

view all the sensors that your device might have. Excellent descriptions of how each work and interact with the world. Perfect tool for the curious and let'a you record your observations- collecting data is a breeze

The abilty to find the position on x y z is amazing though there could be a model of the path taken to find where a certain postion. Overall it is great!

It doesn't detect sound at all, everything else works just fine, I gave permissions for microphone and it still doesn't detect any sound. The sound does work in other apps.

Everytime I opened the app it says " sync failed, try again or submit feedback ". The message repeatedly showing on my home screen even after I closed the app. I should remove app from recent apps to disappear message.

Not useful in that the date of entry can't be adjusted (must be current date and time). There are times where I am adding entries for previous work, but the entey date must be the current date, making sorting confusing

Awesome app, but could use more features. Hashtags to sort observations. Data extraction. Modify date and time of observations. More settings in general needed.

I would like everyone to know how much research and work Google has stolen from me. I've been attempting to research their bugs in the hope of promises of payment yet they keep deliberately tapping in on my own private data so that they can have the answers for themselves as I go along and each time I accomplish some milestone the next few minutes I will read about it in the news or see an app on the play store they've directly based on my ideas which I've not yet been able to propagate!

Wonderful app with lots of measurement tools. Measuring frequency is especially useful for tuning musical instruments, and the light meter is handy, too.

It's amazing app. Totally loved the options it had. Couldn't have been more perfect except for it keeps failing in syncing.

Awesome, finally found a tool that measures everything the pixel 2 XL can sense through its sensors. Wish it was general known to non-school community, because it is an app that is not paid for and Google team's own development.

Great app for simple science experiments that yield graph. They can be further used to demonstrate in science classes. Explore to knoe more..happy experimenting.

it deserves 5 stars, but due to strange way the app began to behave in 2 days i giving 1 star. initially sound meter was giving normal readings 50db and above. but after 2 days normal readings dropped to 1db to negative db readings. hope the team will rectify the error soon. thanks.

It'd be a great addition to a tool kit of some kind that you could buy (there may be one for all I know), but as a stand alone app it's pretty limiting.

So fun and it works really well! I teach in a school and the students love this app to look at light. I teach a grade 6 class BTW

Satisified. Easy to use. I dowloaded the app but immidieatly delted to it. On Dec. 11, 2020, it will be removed from Google so you should dowload the new app instead of this one. But I experimented for a minute and it is great!
