A REAL interactive multi-sensor and data visualization scanner with a sci-fi look and feel. This scanner has 9 modules: Solar, Geo, Weather, Audio, Gyro, Mag, GPS, Cam, and Device, three of which are free. Full HD graphics!
SOLAR MODULEGraphs the last 96 hours of solar wind plasma readings from the US ACE satellite and displays the most recent Solar X-ray. Measured parameters are Proton Density, Bulk Speed, and Ion Temperature.
GEO MODULEDisplays animated global satellite data from NASA on a 3D globe. Last 10 months of land surface temp, sea surface temp, vegetation index, and chlorophyll concentration.
WEATHER MODULEDisplays current meteorological conditions from closest weather station. Temperature, wind speed and direction, pressure, humidity, precipitation.
AUDIO MODULE (requires low-latency hardware, experimental)Displays a spectrum readout of the microphone's audio, as well as current dB levels and Hz frequency. Some Android phones lag or crash on this feature (those without low-latency audio or with lots of background services running).
MAG MODULEDisplays device-relative magnetometer readings. Comes with a spheroid visualization and raw microtesla vector and total field data.
GPS MODULE (free)Displays WGS84-corrected coordinates on a 3D globe based on NASA satellite images. Zooms and rotates. Also displays readout of latitude, longitude, and altitude values and has a working compass.
GYRO MODULE (free)Displays device attitude in real world space (3-axis bubble level). Includes gyro sphere pointing to world up and numerical data for world up vector.
DEVICE MODULE (free)Displays device data (unique ID, system memory, graphics memory, graphics API, OS, processor name, number of cores, device name).
CAM MODULE (experimental)Turns the scanner screen into a live movie feed. Also displays raw RGB levels of your phone's camera.
QUALITY BUTTONAdds screen FX to simulate a CRT monitor. The noise and chromatic aberration effect tax the GPU, so "high Q" may not work on all phones.
SND BUTTONToggle computer beeps and scan hums.
RECOMMENDED TECH SPECS-Low-latency audio pipeline (for Audio Module only). This allows for live analysis of microphone data.-Screen resolution larger than 480x800, 300+ ppi.-If you experience crashes outside of the Audio module, quit other open applications (in Android's Settings menu) and try again, as this is typically due to an out-of-memory error. The app will also continue to be optimized over time to accommodate older phones.

Have had this app since it came out, but it had been a while since I accessed it. It appears to longer be supported by the developer. Don't waste your money off you're expecting much of anything beyond a few beeps and boops.
I paid for this app, got a new phone, and found out that it's not available to install on any device anymore. WTH. I want my $ back or I want the app that I paid for
Thoroughly enjoy this app. Only problem is that it won't save photos taken within the app. Other than that, it's pretty awesome.
Tried on three different devices and it just no longer works. Waste of money, thanks.

I love this app. Nicely done.
A really cool app
Works flawlessly on my Samsung Galaxy S5, the sounds sound authentic, and can be controlled with your phones volume buttons and the background noise can be disabled with the SND (sound) button on the tricorder. Which leaves the button press bleeps intact. I love playing with and having access to all the scientific instruments my phone has, such as the accelerometer, GPS, light meter/analyser (camera), decibel meter / frequency analyser (microphone), magnetometer (your phone's internal compass) which makes this feel like more than a toy. I love it. It makes me wants to put a costume on
Has potential, but the free version is too limited to tell if I would like to buy it. FYI for everyone else the noise is the send button. Just turn it off.
It does require a lot of permissions but it's for all the cool nerdy stuff it does.. and you do have to buy the add-ons to get the cool stuff but it's only five bucks and I've spent twice that on stuff that does half as much
It freezes on launch. It needs more modules. Specifically some stuff for humanoid biology or medical use. Maybe some some for engineering. Plasma flow and whatnot. Mainly is like to see it more stable. This was an investment for me hoping to see a more fleshed out program.
This is not so good. I tried it on my priv and removed it in a minute . It doesn't do much unless you upgrade and you have to turn the sound off because it is annoying.
-10. Instant uninstall. takes forever to start then makes a screeching sound with a blank screen. Not ready. Would not even say it's a alpha release yet alone a beta. Asks for permissions it has no need of. Why does it need to take over phone calls for a sci app?
And why does a Sensor-App need the permission to make calls
I paid for this app, and the updates have stopped it working, so I want my money back.
It worked till I paid for all. Now it will no longer start up. Just white screen.
Get "Tricorder " instead. Its free! Sad when Great free apps like Tricorder and XGalaga are missing from the Play Store and your only option is this crapy app.
Same problems as before the update! Everything works great, but requires internet connection to function at all. Cannot exit out of the "No connection, retry?" tab, thus making accessing anything else in the app impossible. I PAYED YOU PEOPLE FOR AN APP THAT ONCE WAS USABLE BUT IS NO MORE! WHY IS THIS NOT FIXED YET?!?!
At one time it worked fine now app starts then crashes a waste of money
The background sound is irritatingly SCREECHING. And the audio beta once you engage it there's no way to disengage it. Don't waste your time !!!
Almost useless on Pixel 4XL. Doesn't access microphone or sensors
While great in concept, the implementation is lackluster. Poor optimization, and the developer hasn't updated the app since 2016. In order to unlock all of the features, you'll need to shell out 5 bucks, and even then it might not work right. The app crashes frequently, and presents lots of delays between screens, even on high-end modern phones. I award you one star, and may God have mercy on your soul.
