For over 90 years people have relied on this reference work in their daily study of God's Word. Written originally in 1909, C. I. Scofield's intent was to provide a concise but complete tool that would meet the need of someone just beginning to read the Bible.
The Scofield Reference Bible contains very brief commentary, often consisting of no more than a few sentences and several cross-references. The brevity of the notes allowed Scofield's commentary to be included in the margins and footnotes in study Bibles, which countless Christians use as their primary study Bible.
The Scofield Reference Bible is a widely circulated study Bible edited and annotated by the American Bible student Cyrus I. Scofield, that popularized dispensationalism at the beginning of the 20th century. Published by Oxford University Press and containing the traditional, Protestant King James Version, it first appeared in 1909 and was revised by the author in 1917.
The Scofield Study Bible had several innovative features. Most important, it printed what amounted to a commentary on the biblical text alongside the Bible instead of in a separate volume. It also contained a cross-referencing system that tied together related verses of Scripture and allowed a reader to follow biblical themes from one chapter and book to another. Finally, the 1917 edition also attempted to date events of the Bible. It was in the pages of the Scofield Reference Bible that many Christians first encountered Archbishop James Ussher's calculation of the date of Creation as 4004 BC; and through discussion of Scofield's notes, which advocated the "gap theory," fundamentalists began a serious internal debate about the nature and chronology of creation.

If you love the"old" Scofield Study Bible, this is the app for you. I am just learning how to navigate it, but so far I have found it to be complete and to contain everything in the original publication. It is a wonderful and convenient way to read and follow along with TTB on my phone without having to use my precious and well worn Scofield Bible. Just pay to remove ads and you are ready to go! Edit: I hope this app is a blessing to others as it has been to me. Used it since Jan. of this year
I found the notes in the introduction to each book of the bible very good. Particularly helpful is the guidance on what other parts of the bible should be read prayerfully before embarking on the study of the current book. I believe this will ready our hearts well.
Thank you so much for this app and interpreting Scripture and not man's interpretation! I like this app because I can copy the notes, if I need to. I always give Scofield credit for them, even in my personal notes. Would you please consider when we click on Commentary to change it so that the O. T. is on the left side and the N. T. is on the right side? And if we click on a footnote for example in Matthew 13, that it would automatically link us to the next footnote in that chapter?
My rating is based on the content more so than the function of the app, I haven't spent the time within it to really firm an opinion yet. It appears promising, but does seem a bit similar to multiple other apps. If possible i will adjust my rating one I've had more time to test drive it. I would rate this app higher if it the audio voice read the verse(s) slower, with meaning, and in a tone of voice that wasn't absolutely obnoxious! Because of the audio voice it's a wonder I rate this app as high as I have done!
Great application that enriches my Bible study. I appreciate that the ads stay at the bottom out of the way. I tried a similar apps in which that wasn't the case. I like the app so much I decided to purchase and now there are no ads at all. I appreciate that the app uses KJV and the original Scofield notes.
When I am speaking of God, trying to remember the Bible passage. I can search easily and at my figure tips. No matter where I am. This app is very user friendly.

Since I was a child, I have always wanted a Scofield Bible, so you can imagine the excitement when I saw it soft copy online, not different from the hard copy I once had. I find it handy and easily adaptable to my circumstances.
I have been using this Bible app for quite some time now and I must confess.... I so much love it. I have no negative comments or report about this work..... This app is awesome. It's easy to navigate through and gives room to conveniently highlight striking portions of the Bible as one studies through.
Excellent. Although I have a hard copy , the mobille version provides me with the opportunity of reading while on transit.
Im still learning the aspects of the app. I like the version so far. But that I have numerous hardcopy Bibles, I haven't had a chance to totally explore this app's capabilities. But I plan to!!! ☺
Very helpful study guide. I do have the physical Scofield Study Bible but some of the edges are now worn and I missing some of the study guides.

I havd found the notes helpfull, inflrmative & enlightening. The only thing I find difficult is it is locked in only to King James Version at times I find reading it difficult to understand. It would be great if there were options of other translations to help me the reader to understand any selected passage of scripture. Thank you. 😊
