A few times it was great. Drivers on time, got to my destination. 85% of the time im getting cancelled on, leaving me to scramble to find a way to work. Or i dont get matched at all. Or the drivers just dont show up. Or Scoop sends them to the drop off place for pick up, this was experienced after being matched from the short list. I would not recommend this app to anyone. The reason it gets 2 stars is because of the few good experiences I had and customer service was helpful and responsive.

Using Scoop feels that it is more "disciplined" and more commitment than Waze carpool that has more "freedom" for both drivers and riders. The pains are that, (1) some or most of the riders are waiting in a huge parking lot or many parking lots of a company in the afternoon. It can be hard to meet each other and sometimes time consuming, and frustrating. (2) The match does not always do the good math, and the route can be much longer and slower. Some of the pick up points may not in between the original route of the driver's home to work. (3) And it seems has no memory on carpool matches before, and just randomly matches with new faces. May be there is a setting for preferences that I did not know yet. After all, Scoop is a good App. Thanks for the developer's efforts.

Scoop as a carpooling Service is great. App could use a few improvements: 1. I schedule my drive for the same time everyday. And I wish app remembered the time I picked previously and auto select it. 2. Asking for feedback on the rider that I have already provided feedback for (after every trip), is annoying. Update: Issue 1 is now fixed, but still annoyed by 2.

Utterly unreliable! I can never get a ride even with 1 hr long pick-up window during peak commute in San Francisco! I get a ride credit then, which expires unused in a week without a matched ride. If rarely I get matched, I can never trust it as they send drivers up to 20 minute out of their ways for pickup(40 min longer commute) causing last minute cancelations and me scrambling to find a way to get to work. And I have to wait until my bed time to see if I got a ride in the morning! No thanks!

This used to be a great way to find car poolers going to and fro from work. It would match with people close by both sides of the journey. Lately though even for often travelled routes it has started matching people who are really out of the way to pick up and drop. I mostly drive and have a commute of over 35 miles each way in san francisco bay area and if scooping makes me drive the same amount of time if I drive alone, it does not make sense to use the app anymore.

App is mostly perfect. The biggest issue: you can't specify the number of people you want to carpool (I have a 2-seater so carpooling 2 extra people is not an option). As a result, I have to set up my trip at the last minute so as to avoid the automatic matching algorithms.

The UI used to be so good. Scoop would make a perfect case study for how an app with great UX went down into the gutter for no apparent reason. Used to show the time slot, Rider info and commute address on the home page. Now it just shows generic messaging and you have to click further down into pages to find/verify that info.

Scoop is ok. It's definitely a good idea, and when everything goes perfectly it works as advertised. Unfortunately, things frequently don't go as planned and ScoopCare is kind of bad. Responses always come across as canned and without thought about your situation. In a few cases the response has had nothing at all to do with the ticket I opened. It's very strange. Most cases comes down to "sorry your driver bailed on you! Here's $5" (if it's a morning ride), which incidentally doesn't help you actually get to work on time (or at all really). I think Scoop could be great, but it will be dependent on completely rethinking their customer service - because it's such a weak point in the whole thing.

Very unintuitive, hard to use, installed, tried, removed. Ps: gave it second chance! Idea is nice but It is not going to work unless there is balance between drivers and riders. I'm not getting matched 50% of the time. It is VERY inconvenient at least. So far it is more of a pain than benefits.

subpar matching algorithms perfectly blended with super incompetent and rude customer care!! They ask for customer feedback after every single ride and even make you type stuff when you give less than 4-stars but they learn nothing from it. The only help that you get from the customer care is a bunch of template-based emails or texts. They cannot or do not care to help you but they are quite happy to preach you the "best practices", which do not help you in any shape or form.

sub optimal at best. how is it that i can match with the same person for a week solid, then suddenly i do not match with them at all, then the next week it's them again. What's the point of favorites if it doesn't guarantee a match. we've even compared our notes and scheduled times. The biggest joke about this app is the 'short list' which is just their way of stalling you out in the morning only to get no match anyways. it's getting really old. hopefully someone comes along and buys this place and fixes it. Like if a driver and rider get along and want to match EVERY TIME you should enable that. this is seriously causing me more stress than it's worth.

Getting a ride can be hit or miss, but that's not the app's or service's fault, really. But I'm taking off a star because it is relentless about insisting you rate every driver and passenger, every time, regardless of how many times you've rated them before. Its irritating and happens every time I go to schedule my next ride.

Adi. A. Sep 19, 2018

The feedback system is poorly implemented. In spite of reporting route for only one rider, they remove the entire route from your preference list. Riders and drivers living right next door are left to choose short list and without ride, for same destination and timings. The preference based route matching they promise is not any close. They can not reset the driver route preferences even on request. Haven't received any great help from Scoopcare.

Great app for work commute. Surprisingly, I get a match 95% of the time! But, the main problem lies in the fact that the scoop drivers are NEVER on time. They come anywhere from 10 to 20 min late, and some don't even bother to atleast text that in advance. I have to book very early slots to account for this delay. Since I can't rely on the fact that they'll be late, I do get ready and wait for them even on a early slot. I know it's not an app problem. But, I hope scoop can work around this :)

Seems to completely ignore route preferences. Keeps sending me on 20+ minute detours. When I decline the route, I'm stuck unable to even access the shortlist. Useless. Update 3/18/19 per Dev Response Contacted support and was told that they cannot block areas, only specific routes. How many different routes can you think of to go to an unwanted area? What a pain. I hope they enable area blocking soon. Shouldn't be hard to let users draw a shape around a blacklist area.

I'm not able to login to app. I have been trying since 2-3 days now. Looking at website now I don't see any reference of ride share, looks like scoop has pivoted to different business now. How can I login and transfer any account balance out of app.

Son. S. Mar 12, 2019

I havent been getting a match till the last minute. Also this has become consistent. Please double check my history. This app is totally rigged. I have to reach out to individual drivers to give me a ride. I see how much detour the driver has to take to drop off matched riders but convenient drop off like mine dont get matched.

App paired me with a rider that would have required me to leave earlier than I wanted, doubled my commute distance, and still wouldn't have allowed me to use the express lane, then wanted to charge me for cancelling the carpool. It's good that you are trying to save the planet and all by helping people find carpool buddies, but this isn't the way to do it...

Aks. K. Apr 30, 2019

Absolutely love the app! Smoothest driving experience ever! So much better than Uber Carpool! You schedule a ride the previous night and you get to know your time slot accordingly! You can also directly text your carpoolers! For thr evening ride back home, they are so flexible that we need to schedule it only by 3 o clock. This gives us enough time to know whether we are scooping that evening or not! I also love that my company has a tie up with scoop so I get really good discounts!!!

This app is really unreliable. Not getting matched up. There are many people who are on route from work to my home and vice versa, yet I don't get matches often. So far it seems I got matched up about only 5% of the time. Time to forget about even scheduling a ride as it seems totally waste of wait time.

Pan. L. Oct 10, 2019

Been using it for a while, pretty amazing solution for beating the traffic. Loving all the updates that you guys are making. My number 1 feature request is still the same; Give users an option to set minimum 2 riders i.e. match with 2 more ppl or none. This is particularly important in Seattle region where we have a 3-person carpool lane. If that is not possible, can you at least let the drivers see the shortlist even when they have been matched already, so they could pick up a 3rd rider from the shortlist either through in-app UX or direct message(free ride at that point, just to meet carpool requirements)

Cal. t. C. Aug 14, 2020

Can't even schedule a ride. The app crashes on me when i click to schedule. UPDATE: now it wont let me schedule rides at all. I set it all up and go through the process and it kicks back with no confirmation and stiol a blank slate. This is the 8th time i have tried to schedule a ride and i can't.

App constantly nags through push notifications and emails, once I uninstalled the app it started to txt me. Doesn't seem to be a way to delete the account and support never responded to my messages. The reps who were pushing the app also were overly aggressive... Might be a great thing, but it is far too annoying of an experience to find out.

mil. Oct 30, 2019

I presume they will go out of business soon, I don't see how they still operate based on my experience. I NEVER match, despite huge match windows. I reached out to Scoop care a few times, but there is nothing they were able to do. Prices have increased twice in recent months, about 150%, with zero communication about it. The app is inflexible and has many deeply frustrating restrictions eg, if you don't match as a rider and cancel your request, you can't then see the rider shortlist. Hate it.

Cry. G. Feb 12, 2020

So far it's going great for me! Cut a two hour bus commute down to 45-60 minutes, even when we have additional folks to pick up. I did already know one of my coworkers was using the app so that makes it easy to get matched. Easier to do it via this app than bringing cash to reimburse them though!

Dev. D. Jan 19, 2019

Scoop is not dependable. When it works it's fine, but a lot of times it won't match you,and you come to know that last minute, and by that time it is too difficult to figure out back up options. it's a constant stress on whether I'll get matched or not each time

Din. N. Dec 6, 2018

great overall. don't like the rating that pops up every time I complete a trip. Also the landing screen with all week days can be improved visually to easily distinguish scheduled or not trips. bulk scheduling would be great for regular commuters.
