DO NOT USE! If possible. Constant issues with the app and with the customer service. I have been on hold for over 2 hrs. Took over a month to setup an account. Horrible customer service. Expect to spend over hour on hold. Email help sends "Error" messages as well. Drops connection multiple times a day. The stock updates are lagged as well.
Very basic app. Would be great if it provided notifications of filled orders, price alerts etc but it provides none. No volume on charts and no level 2 quotes. It crashes a lot too. Would definitely not use this app if I had the option. Will be looking at moving all stocks over to a different trading house in the near future.
Doesn't work - scotia fix this shi**y app as a fre investor i need easy access to check my accounts on the go!!! An expectation in the modern world Not a request! was able to sign in only once and use this app. then the second time it kept telling me "error###", i continued re-entering my correct card number and login name and same thing until i went to my laptop to login where it works fine. uninstalled & reinstalled app same error message. useless pls fix!!!!
For straight trading ok. But why it requires you to sign back in to check real time quotes escapes me. Why the hell it doesnt have finger print recognition like iPhone (using S9 +) to log in is just stupid. If they realized many users actually have android phones they'd at lesst upgrade to fingerprint recognition and create better user interface on log in.
Horrible app for 2018. Crashes after a few refreshes. Zero ability to go back when navigating the different menus. Every time you use the back button on your phone, the app wants to log out. Ridiculous.
tl;dr app shows information and trades, but crashes almost every 4th interaction with the menu. decent app and trades okay, but as of march 2019 its still having ridulas crashes, from when you want to look at different quotes or hit the back button on a certian page, I use this because im a scotiacustomer but having this app makes me want to move to america to get the RobinHood app.
great app until 2 weeks ago. now it takes forever to log in. It seems like its constantly loading with the little green circle. missed out on a very important buy this morning because of this stupid app. I've cleared the cache in my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled, nothing works. Most of the time i cant even check my stocks or prices cause it wont load up the next page. Developers get your head out of you a*s and fix this. People rely on this for very important financial actions.
Awful app with clunky design and unintuitive functionality (pressing back to exit the app instead of returning to the previous selection/menu/page? Really). Also, there's two apps on the store for this? Is one of them a scam? What's going on?
Last Updated in 2018, the UI needs work. This doesn't even compare to the Scotiabank retail banking app. The menus are not intuitive, no support for finger print reader.
Watchlist does not update. Have to reboot the phone to get updated info. I use S9 with LTE. Old info - App defaults my orders to either buy or sell, depending where you start. Have to over ride its defaults, and then check again... as it will switch back. Too many orders were sold, when I wanted to buy... agents at the desk say its the apps fault, not theirs and won't even refund commissions, whether 5 or 10$ After years of this, I'm going back to webbroker and td bank....
Like another person said. I love banking with Scotia in general but this app needs a complete makeover like the other Scotia app got recently. The UI is clunky, it crashes often and to be honest; its just old school compared to what can be done in 2019.
It is good for a very basic use. It does not switch to landscape view. Stock chart pricing/volume/dates need a magnifier to read.
How has this app still not received the facelift that the Scotiabank app has? It's an eyesore that crashes and won't even let you sign in using a password manager.
Only thing it is useful for is viewing your balance. Very awkward to use for trading. I will stick with browsers.
this app is good for long term investors, however this app crashes frequently I've had it on 3 phones now and it crashes the same on every phone.
Works fine and I use it a lot. It needs a back key. You always have to return to the main menu after looking at the details on a stock.
I really enjoy banking with Scotiabank but their dev team needs to completely update the app and make it more modern just like they did with the official Scotiabank app , I hated using it but after they updated it , it looks much better.
Please update this app. This is a terrible investing app, when I first used it I thought it was fair.. now, like many others, im left frustrated. Please please please update this app and restore the slightest amount of hope. Cheers.
Junk on a Samsung S9+. Like going back in time 10 years on navigation and usability.
Always crashes and very slow. How can you expect to make trades???? Poor app.
Navigation, search and press releases are horrible.
At first, I didn't use it, I felt more at ease with the internet site page to do my transactions. Now that I am more familiar with this app. I find it easy to use.
can no longer log in, unable to see charts or trade due to errors. basically useless
not good, terrible ui, crashes and pops up over other apps if you dont close it.
Terrible, not even fingerprint log in?! Seriously?! Service is also non existent, no reply to questions, nothing Avoid!
Doesn't get respond from Android, have to log out and log in every few minutes. It's not real time, behind market Very disappointed RBC is much better
It generally behaves as intended, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, it could be much better. The UI is a bit of a clunky unintuitive mess. Switching screens in order to initiate a trade causes relevant information to vanish making you then tap on accounts to go back to get information if you forgot or didn't catch how many shares you are holding or any other pertinent information. Quality of life has definitely taken a back seat to the good enough attitude that a lot of self directed services provide. There is great opportunity for improvement, but motivation and innovation seem to be itrade's biggest stumbling blocks here.
