This app has potential. There is an ad-free option that has an annual renewal that makes the app much less annoying for $10/yr , however it also has some other issues, navigation is a little clunky, by that i mean that several times I forget how to close the pop up windows (they don't swipe) and if I use the back button from my phone buttons it exits the app. Its probably just a matter of using it more regularly and getting used to how it works (i guess you close it with the same button you open it so it seems like it ought to be intuitive but for some reason its not for me). I still don't see how you can back date a log entry, so I guess I need to talk to support on that. I wish you could set your defaults to something other than "Deer" but that does seem to be the primary intent of the app. Its basically been the same app for several years. The property lines are new (but the pricing seems steep - there are other apps that will so this at much less than $70 / yr) though maybe only using it for a few months during hunting season is worth it (mostly to deer hunters I would imagine). The rest has some good features for waterfowl hunters with a pretty good database of birds.
This app was awesome. Now they combined with another app that i cant even open. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times, will not log me in. I even tried to send a password change request to my email and it states server unable to connect. Perfect, now i have nothing. Way to go u took a perfectly good app and ruined it. Looks like i will have to find something else.
I used scoutlook for several years and loved it. Now I get a message thats it's merged with huntstand and I need to install that. Well huntstand won't work on my phone, it's too old and doesnt support it. I'm not going to toss a phone that works fine just to get a hunting app. Thanks for cutting me off scoutlook.
You took a simple wind checking app and completely ruined it . It was so simple to pick your name of the spot and see if you can hunt it . The hunt stand app is very hard to navigate and on top of that 3/4 of the time it is not accurate at all . I have wasted so much time going to the stand to find out when I get there it's not even close . PLEASE BRING BACK SCOUT LOOK!!!!!!
Pretty cool app. Always making improvements to it. The developer's are very good at what they do, the app is supported 100%. I tend to use the simple wind direction/scent cone, and weather/minor and major feed times. Being able to save coordinates to your hunting stands or other's stands is a very cool feature as well. Hats off to the developer's, they are definitely steering this app in a great direction.
Really like the shading for terrain it's very helpful especially in combination with topographic lines...but and I do mean but. The topographic lines only show up when zoomed way out! Not helpful when looking for small benches or areas that may hold water in wet years I mean those tiny pockets that granddaddy keeps his honeys.
Need to be able to change the log time and date so when you're done hunting you can record the time and date of what you saw. Would be nice to be able to switch screens a little easier as well without having to go back and.forth. Satellite map could be much more accurate and detailed .
This was the best hunting app out there, I used this app for years, then they merged with huntstand and it literally took a nose dive. Was so easy and reliable, showed your scent cone, wind direction, satellite, solunar table, ect. Now it's so hard to understand and not as user friendly, CHANGE IT BACK TO WAY IT WAS.
It is a great fundamental app. overall. I also use another hunting app. but in conjunction with this one. I use scoutlook to decide whether or not to hunt the infrequent/unexpected days off from work, days leading up to my hunt, the night before and during my hunt.
Not sure what's going on, but everytime I open app, it says it needs to be updated, sends me to play store where it says that is up to date. Using Samsung Galaxy S7 The most recent (10/2/2018) update works flawlessly. Thanks!
One of the best apps I've ever used, and now with the new property line feature this app is second to none. I rely on this thing heavily, I don't go hunting and haven't went hunting without using this app for over 2 years now. And I will use this app until it no longer exists I guess. The major times for game activity is actually pretty spot-on. I can't say enough for this app it's one of the best things that's ever happened to my hunting Arsenal, I hunt coyotes and Hogs particularly by calling I am never off key with the Wind because of this app. This app has caused numerous animals to be harvested here! Love the app. Makes saving hunting spots easy and checking to make sure the wind and weather looks good in said spots prior to hunting to get the best edge is extremely efficient when knowing which way to enter or if you need to plan for another spot the day before.
I've used scoutlook for years. For hunting, fishing, and just general weather. Great app. But I had to uninstall due to the change over to "hunt stand". Not a good app.
The Scoutlook app allows me to virtually scout land and pick out the areas I want to setup a stand in. It also talls me the wind direction for the spot I choose and the optimal times for animal activity. Get this app.
Scoutlook was one of the easiest apps to navigate and use and gave you wind direction and I will never understand why you merged with a app that is difficult to understand and navigate. This is one of the cases you fixed what wasn't broken. Can I please have the scoutlook app back?
I paid for the free version when it first came out ten years ago, they upgraded and started the ads,and didn't let me keep my ad free version. Still use it but pissed.
so far it's great I've only got the free 7-Day demo right now but it's pinpoint dad on on my property lines all the information so far is 100% correct I very rarely give any apps or rating but this app is outstanding it is everything it says it is!!!! Good job on this app
Just downloaded, haven't realised the full potential of this app yet. The mapping and the showing of the sent cone are great features in planning your next hunt.
Sometimes this app works great and sometimes I have to close and restart it to the point of frustration. I wish it updated more. All in all, it's a free app and has done pretty well for me.
after installing, it crashes every time I want to look at temp, hunting times, etc. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still having issues. s8+ so its a newer phone.
This app is wonderful for the most part. It does have trouble loading at times.(I BELIEVE THAT IT IS MY PROVIDER and not the app.) BUT when it is loaded it works like a dream. The wind forecast is only as accurate as the weather provider. I have found it to be quite accurate and beyond an asset. I can tell which spot I prefer to hunt based solely on the wind direction assement. To be able to save mapped hunts to specific areas, name them, and attach photos to a particular point on the map.
