SCRABBLE

Suggestions: the idea of having a teacher mode is great, but you need to improve the experience so that it actually is informative enough to teach the player. When the computer plays an obscure word (which happens a LOT), there should be a way to tap the word and get the meaning. Other Scrabble games out there have this and it's very helpful. Also in teacher mode, when the teacher suggests a better play, it is only shown for a very brief moment and then an ad pops up immediately. If you are trying to learn from the teacher's suggestions, you need to be able to see it for more than a second. Also, the ads in general are over-the-top. I understand that ads are necessary in a free version, but to have a full screen ad pop up after every single play is excessive! This version of Scrabble has potential to be great, but these major flaws need to be fixed before it can be a worthwhile experience. In the meantime Scrabble fans, there are others out there! I've been enjoying Classic Words quite a bit. Happy playing!

I only play the computer, but the thing which annoys me the most is how slow things are. The graphics are nice, but I would rather have the speed. I do have an older tablet & the space is filled up, but I still don't remember when one thing or another wasn't slow. I like the 'best word' for when I'm truly stuck or need points. Also, having a list of remaining tiles in the bag for exchanging tiles is nice. Reduce the RAM needed & I'd rate even higher.

I really liked this app. I liked being able to play against the computer at different levels . I liked the feature of being able to find out if a combination of letters made a real word . I have tried its successor, Scrabble Go, which seems to lack these features and has a much more cluttered interface. Just uninstalled Scrabble go and will stick with Classic Words Solo. Classic Words doesn't have all of my old favorite features but it has a cleaner, simpler interface.

I used to enjoy Scrabble immensely, but lately it often freezes up, is non-responsive, and the dictionary doesn't come up promptly. Very often the board drops off my screen and I have to load it all over again. I think part of the problem is the full page ads interrupt everything. Sometimes it takes 20 minutes to get one word on the board with all this going on. It's a great game, but under these conditions I will probably stop playing, it takes too long.

Too many ads! I paid for the add-free version a few years ago and it worked very well. I played every day and was at the highest level. Then I was forced to update, and 1) it was incompatible with my kindle 2) it is constantly interrupted by ads. I believe it is dishonest to sell an ad-free app then make it unbearably interrupted by ads later.

Deserves less than one star. Scrabble has existed for decades and the app has been around for years. How is it, then, that this app is so feature-poor? There are so many opportunities to help improve one's play. For example, the "stats" page doesn't include any real stats, just the score. Simple things like the three clicks it takes to search a word in the dictionary (at least on Android) should make the UX designers of this app ashamed. It's such a fail and EA is wasting this copyright.

After every move while playing solo, a full screen popup ad appears,runs for several seconds before it can be closed. Its very annoying and makes what a fun game pretty well unplayable. I bought some coins assuming that I would be able to use them somehow to get rid of ads. Nope, I couldn't find anyway to use the coins. I don't mind paying for a game but it appears there is no option for this on the Android platform. I'll avoid purchasing any EA products after this amateurish product.

The free version of the app is very frustrating. Every time (!) you play a turn, you get a video ad that you cannot escape out of until it has played for a certain amount of time, which uses a lot of battery, despite the fact that the app also contains banner ads to start with. Also, the app frequently loses your history and you must sign in all over again.

I started playing scrabble 3 to 4 years ago. I loved the game and played it continuously until now. The ads have become ridiculous. The same ad appears continuously, over and over again some are offensive to me and there is no way to stop them. Now you have to view ad until the "clock " runs out. I deleted the app regrettably but isn't worth the frustration. I've tried to buy a non ad scrabble app, but can not find one.

Potentially a 5 star game. Now it is a game of ignoring ads that pop up every time you make a play. A recent "upgrade " makes impossible quickly clear the ad. Sometimes you have wait for a timer to clear and times they change up where the clear button is. Electronic Art has created a great game and then totally screwed it up with ads. They used to have a a purchase option without ads. I had it on my last phone and a friend still has it. After searching I cannot find a no-ad version.

This was a great game. Played solely at expert level against the computer, which for reasons that are unclear, was not programmed to do it's best. The only change the game needed was a more difficult level. The new Scrabble Go game is unfortunate. I uninstalled after about 10 minutes. Strikes me as Scrabble for people who never liked Scrabble. A strange sad approach to a game.

The app looks very outdated, but it's still functional. However, an ad after each turn? kind of annoying, but since I think about my moves for a long time I don't feel it as much. Other than that, nothing is wrong; the game just feels and looks old and sad. Maybe they should put in a weekly league or change the page design. Also, display what tiles are left in the bag.

Firstly let my say that I very much enjoy a good game of Scrabble, win or lose, I like a friendly competition that takes a little thinking to achieve. But I don't like a "teacher" making suggestions every single move I lack a point or two, especially when I had the word but just couldn't find a place for it. Ugh! And seriously, the words it's dictionary doesn't have, considering the words it does... It has "Prof" but not "Dr". It has "ID" but not "IV". It even has " Oaty" and "Goaty" but not whatever options I happened to have. I do use the dictionary, but sometimes it's just so frustrating, when the opponent can use words you were sure were impossible. And maybe it's just for me, I don't know, but the letter board at the bottom is actually pretty inconvenient. Every time I go for a letter, my options pop up and I have to wait for them to drop down again before going for the next letter. I'm still playing, because I like the game regardless, and aside from these issues it's well made and easy to play. But I'm not gonna pretend the issues don't exist. :P

This is a good app, but I can't give it any more than 2 stars because of its ads. You get an ad every time you make a move, which is already bad, but I keep getting ads that literally wont let me exit them. The only solution is to close the app and start again but sometimes you can make a move, get the unskippable ad, restart the app, make another move and get the unskippable ad again!

love the game!!!! but I am uninstalling it because of the ads. I love that I can play against the computer. it never has any problems, plays well. I just cannot do the ads after EVERY play. I tried to find an option to buy out the ads but could not find one. my favorite game to play all the time so i really did try but just way too many ads. would rather pay for a game with less ads than try to play this one any more. I am so upset about this!!!!!!

Have only played vs. the computer. As with previous programs, not sure the racks are really random. On the Expert setting, the computer is not competitive enough; haven't lost in the 10 or so games I've played. "Teacher" is fine, but doesn't consider that wasting a blank or an S for an extra point or two is not the best play.

Great game. I would gladly buy an ad free version, please! Update: having played this game for 6 weeks I still say great game. However, I have changed my rating from 4 to 3 stars as I have become increasingly frustrated with the ads which play after EVERY turn. I implore the developers to offer an ad-free version for purchase. I am confident many others would agree.

Works very well. No bugs or mysteries. The dictionary needs to be updated. A few real words are missing. When I play at the highest level, at one time I used to get creamed, the app would beat me by a 100+ points every time. Then it somehow dumbed down. Would like to play that super player again. The app is good. I recommend.

In the middle of playing the game, the ads come on and stay stuck there. Can't back out the game and come back. I literally got stuck on an ad last night, came back this morning and its still stuck on the ad. Please give an option to pay a one time fee if players don't wanna see ads. I would gladly pay. 🙄 Im not sure if there is any significance, but it happens usually when the wegmans meals to go app pops up.

Ads make want to stop playing. The timed mode is pointless; the countdown starts (without notifying you) when the other person plays, regardless of when you actually see the board. It also lets you play a word after the 2 minutes are up...so the limit doesn't even matter. The game works, but it's just not enjoyable.

I love this game but many times it won't load properly till I exit and reload, even first time of the day. Also I would like to find a way to pay to remove the ads. I paid to buy a Silver Package, hoping that would remove ads, or why would you pay for 600 coins. However, ads still come on every single move. I would rather stay with Classic Scrabble, but want this to work better.

The app cannot make up it's mind when it wants to function. Majority of the time it requires my wifi to be shut off to work, which is extremely frustrating. There have also been several occasions in which it freezes and I have to close the app and reopen it. Every time I open the app there is some delay for it to load, longer than any other app should take. The pros- the "teacher" is very helpful, and the dictionary, but that could also be improved.

I get having ads, but to have one after EVERY SINGLE TURN is just ridiculous. Not only that, but half the time the ad wouldn't load & I'd be stuck on a black screen, or it would go back to the game and the game froze. I played one round with the CPU, got sick & tired of the "teacher" popping up saying "well, you could've played this instead" And to force you to play a random opponent, no man, just no. Uninstalling.

Player Beware!! When an ad pops up as a solid black screen, when the "x" pops up, hit the "x" in the upper left hand corner right away. I didn't press the "x" fast enough and it went into a white screen that froze up the game. I kept hitting the back button and the white screen stayed there frozen. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app to get rid of it.

I had an iPhone for years, had the EA paid-for app on it, and was quite happy with it. Replaced the iPhone with an Android phone, and went to buy the Android version. I would gladly pay for a licensed no-ad app but apparently it is not an option here. So, after installing this version I was very frustrated with the FULL PAGE ADS after EVERY TURN! I have since uninstalled the game, very disappointed in it. If they come up with a paid version without ads I might come back.
