It works but it feels slow and the ads really get in the way. It also blocks some basic functions, like downloading new apps. And for some reason the main screen on the app is all white, which is really obnoxious when I want the screen to be dim at night
Had to switch from the app I was using for over a decade because it broke with Android 12. This one does what it's supposed to but 4* bc the ads are annoying, most especially because they tend to be bright white and I get blinded. Would absolutely pay a small one time fee for ad free.
it's so simple like it says. it did what I want and im so impressed. the reason im giving it only 4 is that I need it to be set somewhere whether on my notifications bars or just any turn on/off button floating on the screen to make it easier. every time I wanna turn it off, I have to go to the app and turned it off. if I wanna make comes back on, I have to visit the app one more time. it gets annoying cause I actually did alot at night, so I had to switched every like 5 minutes
Works on the new android update and is the first one I have found that does. It gets nice and dark, and doesn't go grey instead of properly dimming. The one thing is that you have to open the app to turn it off again. No pause feature.
It's as basic as it gets. No color filters, no widgets or shortcuts . You have to open the app, and there are ads, but it doesn't slow your phone. And it's less than 3mb. So it's fine.
The app is simple and works. The full page ad every time I open the app is a bit much, but understandable given the app is free. However, I had to watch a video ad last time I opened the app. That annoyed me to the point of losing two stars.
Turns off touch-input while running this app over the one mobile game I need it to dim, so the games unplayable with this app. Also slow startup, wack UI, no way to change opacity from the drop-down menu
Unfortunately, it doesn't affect the lock screen (so the display's painfully bright till you unlock), and doesn't dim notifications or the Quick Panel. But I understand Google has prevented apps from doing this "for security"—so till phone makers realize their displays don't dim enough, I guess apps like these are the best we can hope for. BTW, why cover the whole screen when changing brightness? Why not just show the slider over the current screen, so we can actually see what we're changing?
Does exactly what you expect, dim the brightness further than your phone normally allows. The only flaw for me, using OnePlus A500 is that the brighness flickers briefly between Screen Dimmer app settings to 'standard' phone brightness when using the home button. Thank you.
This app entitled "*SCREEN DIMMER*" is to good when by mistake we have set the opacity level to 0 than we are not able to see anything so in this app star (*) on right side down constantly is give to reset again so we can see properly In any other app it is not give like this if any another app we have set the opacity level to 0 by mistake then in than it is difficult to reset again has we cannot see anything So I am very happy to tell that this is to good app help to read without stress in eyes and to good Thank you
Great app to make your screen brightness lower than what is allowed by the decice. Reason it isn't 5 stars is that there are always annoying ads popping up when going into the app.
The app is really simple and easy to use but needs clearer graphic sight when setting the brightness down, because it goes blurrier the darker it goes.

Amazing app.i have a OnePlus 6 and in the night time when all lights are off the minimum brightness of the phone is a lot which causes a lot of strain(even in night mode).This app helps a lot
The ads are annoying, why is there no option to pay for the app so you don't get the ads?? Other than that it works really well
It was good in the beginning but now it is blocking other apps. It is not allowing any app to be downloaded from Play Store. I am kicking this app. This app has done the same thing She came to fetch fire and became a housewife😡😠😤
Extremely slow to open for what it is and has adverts, just not very good.
Ads are wayyyy to invasive and you cant dismiss with the back button. When the ads take more thought then the app itself its a bad sign. App works ok otherwise.
Great application if you're looking to hide what you're looking at on screen for privacy great for people looking over your shoulders trying to see what you're doing on your phone however be careful because you can make your screen so dark that you won't know where to how to turn it off
Awesome. even though I decrease my phone bright But it is still bright once I download this app my phone brightness dimmer which I meant at night when you off all the light in room or ect. TRUST ME YOU CAN USE THIS APP IT IS GOOD TO USE AT NIGHT.I WOULD LIKE TO RATE 5/5 FOR THIS APP♥️♥️
Full screen ad with no close option clearly visible pops up without any notice. Screen dimmer button position changes with ad banner. So end up tapping ad link.
easy and simple to use, but doesn't dim notifications and has an icon in the bottom right that cannot be moved and when tapped turns the dimmer off
Samsung Galaxy S5 = I Think the brightness adjustment wen you 1st Turn it on is a Wonderful idea ! ...but wen I 1st tap on the icon to turn it on, why does it take a second or 2 for it to dim the screen ? That's the only part about this app that I'm not crazy about. Other than that = Good app !
It's a nice app but it doesn't dim all the screen if swipe over, the non dimmed screen would show up and that's kinda irritating
When i have this app on it wont let me download anything from the play store. I have to turn it off before downloading anything.
Great, just a note: only works on amoled! LCDs have a backlight, and OLED pixels make their own light, so it works great on OLED
I can still use the app but every time i access the app it said : " the app is built for an older version of android, pls check updates " i was like wh@t th€ f*¢k cus im using the oneplus 7 pro at android 10
I downloaded a BUNCH of screen dimmer apps & this is one of two of the best I could find. Does what it's supposed to. Very basic. I'm giving it 4 stars because there are a few things I'd love to see added. A settings menu would be handy, the option of having a daily automatic dimmer & if possible, a way for the screen dimmer to automatically turn off when a screen shot is taken and then back on again after the shot is done. Having to turn it on and off everytime is such a pain!
