ScreenBeam Config Utility

When I select my screenbeam mini from the list, all that happens is the device reboots itself, and the app then sits and does nothing but telling me it's "connecting". The device itself is great, allows me to cast videos from my phone to the TV in our camper, far away from any wifi. But the app is useless. Disappointing, because I love to be able to customize this little beauty which has been so useful to me.

I have 2 of these divices and both worked fine until last week. The app opens and crashes. I have tried different phones and different tv's. I have reached out to screenbeam with no response. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I have power cycled all devices and had zero luck. Disappointing.

The app crashes constantly with no warning. Usually within a matter of seconds. Cleared cache and storage, no change. My Android software/firmware is up to date, but apparently the app isn't. Haven't been able to even update the software of the screen beam mini 2 because of this.

Love the device, but this config utility hasn't been updated since 2019. Last update says it supports Android 9. It crashes with any higher version of Android. Please update the app to fix this bug. This app is useless in its current state.

App won't connect, forces shut due to a bug... having issues staying connected to my screenbeam and can't check for updates because the app won't work. Very disappointing, now looking for alternatives to totally do away with this product and company completely.

The app doesn't work right with OnePlus 6t. I had to get my old S7 out to update firmware of the Mini2. My 6t can cast onto TV, but only with WIFI on. My S7 could mirror with WIFI OFF. It would use WIDI which is what I want with my 6t. I want to cast 6t's screen on my TV watching youtube or whatever using my data connection. I do not want to use WIFI!!

This is a great app/device, but it's very basic and would greatly benefit from adding updated features, such as casting only audio, adjusting image/audio quality, and battery saving options. I love the functionality of screenbeam, but it eats up the battery of any device its connected to. Also, a stand alone app made from screenbeam/Actiontec having these capabilities dedicated for casting would be incredibly nice.

The app keeps crashing. It wont even connect after it allows me to click on my device. This needs to be fix ASAP. If i could give it no stars i would right now. Fix the bugs and ill change my rating.

App does not work with Android 12. However you only need this app to change some settings on the box or to do a firmware upgrade. You don't need to use this app to normally use the product. So if you have a Windows computer you can download the app there and do the configuration and firmware updates

Great item so far. Connected right away. picture is great. But it doesn't register through this app to check for an update. . Would have given it a 5 star if this app worked. But the ScreenBeam Mini 2 is awesome. Why does it keep turning my wifi back on ? This is supposed to be able to run on phone data. I have unlimited data.

Worked great on my Samsung, not working on my Motorola Moto g. Please help me. I use my cell on my smart TV as my sole entetainment. Fix my problem and I'll give a good 5 * rating. New phone Samsung A21 installed your app startup stops when connecting to the Screen Beam Mini 2. This is better than the MotoG. I end up using my older Samsung Galaxy J7 by using the hot spot on my A21. Works but not good. HELP!!!

I am using an LG Phoenix phone with Android version 7. I have endless looping of configuration menus and screens telling me to exit the utility to continue. When I tell the menu to connect to the device, it goes to the configuration menu. Unless there is another app for this device, it is useless.

I love the device, but the app refuses to work properly. As soon as I select my device, the app hard crashes. No message, just gone. Perhaps problem with Android 10? Please fix as I need to make some configuration changes.

For those that cannot connect you got to make sure that you turn on "smart view" to connect to the screenbeam. "Smart view" is the name that Samsung uses other phones may use another names it's located on the top of the pulldown screen on your cell phone, "smart view" must be turned on to be able to watch/connect it to your television.

Total GARBAGE! I bought this to mirror my cell to TV in my truck. It didn't work at all. Called I.T. they said I had to have wifi to use it. Amazon said nothing about needing wifi. Tried installing it at home. Same GARBAGE! The app won't connect to the device. Wound up throwing the device in the trash where it belongs!

I wish you actiontec would create a casting app. I have an lg phone, casting is not here. Other vendors have workarounds for this. Ok I can wifi direct to the sbm2, I can play with the simple utility settings and upgrade, I can find the sample htmlpluscgi page. So why cant you make an app to use the same communication lines to cast a mirror of the phone screen? So frustrating... Tested on LGMS550 7.0 mpcs.

The app downloads just fine but it will not list my Screenbeam Mini 2 device. I try scanning, doesn't work. Tried resetting the device, doesn't work. Tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the app, nothing. Help?

Have now tried on three different phones to use this app, have had success with none of them. OS varies from Android 7 through Android 10 and only Android 7 will see the device. The one that is specifically Android 9 that this is supposed to work with will not see the device and app fails to get farther than asking me do I want my GPS turned on. When I tell it yes it shuts the app down when I go back in it again asked me do I want my GPS turned. Don't waste your time as far as I'm concerned

The app does exactly what it says it does. The product has some limitations but works well. Check to make sure your device is compatible before buying though. Pixel doesn't support mirror cast!

Crashes. Crashes every time i try to connect BECAUSE it assumes i have the WPS feature on my WiFi. I don't use routers with WPS because of the security issues. I can't believe they're still sold with it. I'll look for a work around.

As soon as it tries to connect, the app instantly closes and nothing happens. I bought the ScreenbeamMini specifically to use with my Phones 5g during internet outages with Spectrum. Without internet connection my entire home network is basically useless, just like this App.

The app won't even open. If it does open, I click my receiver name and the app shuts down. Have not been able to connect to my device once. 0/10. Will be returning my receiver.

2.5 stars. Good try guys 👏 The closet I've gotten to finding an app that can attempt to try to connect to my screenbeam. As I've gotten a new phone so this phone doesn't have a mirroring feature (samsung galaxy a12☹)on it. All the other mirroring app are for chrome cast, roku, etc 👎

App keeps crashing. Tells me I'm not set up with the internet. I would really like to experience the outcome of my newly purchased screenbeamMini2. No chance of that happening I guess.

This app does what it says it does. It helps you configure your ScreenBeam. The only problem is I do not have an app preinstalled on my phone that will connect with the ScreenBeam mini2 I have already purchased for $80 so I cannot use it. If anyone can help, please feel free to email me!

This app is completely useless,it's always crashing, don't used this app, .just turn On your Smart View to your settings and you will be Ok....at the last minute I almost return this item..it's not cheap....but it's working fine ....
