I think this app has been abandoned. No updates in forever. While most of the app works, it is UGLY (looks like it was written about 10 years ago) and several parts are buggy and just don't work. Having seen the PC software and the iPhone software, this looks and runs like a relic. Whoever they contracted this out to, they got ripped off.

I'm sorry, I've never felt the need to review an app before today, but this is straight up bad in every way. Pentair, try the app yourselves, try the transmitter system in real world scenarios on real customers pools, then come back here and see the reviews are justified. It's just not good, it never connects, and when it does it never responds reliably. Hire a better technology subcontractor to make your next iteration of your automation and control systems. I wasted hours on this.

I have had enough of this worthless app. Do not buy this junk. 100k+ downloads and 1.7 stars says it all. A lot of us have this and a lot of us are wishing we'd gone with another system. And if you look at the rest of the pentair apps they're all the same 1-2 stars. Their hardware is OK their software is total junk that hasn't been updated in years. Also emails to both addresses go unanswered. Remote connect hasn't worked in month. Avoid this product.

I like the app and I can do almost everything I need to for my pool/spa. It's probably worth 4 stars based on the available functions I can use in the app. The problem is that the app is regularly unable to connect to the Pentair server so I'm left without any remote automation. Doesn't seem like a difficult fix on Pentair's part, but there have been no updates since 2018. There are a lot of disappointed people out there wishing they could use this app, only to find out Pentair isn't improving.

Still can't figure out how to control my pool pump on and off from the Screen Logic android phone app. Frustrating. I can turn my lights on and off. I have read the manual and still confused. Having to go outside to the control box instead of being able to use my Screen logic phone app. Ugh!!!

App rarely works, most of the time it fails to connect. If you have multiple controllers it will only list one at a time and half the time the same one shows up so you cannot get to the other ones. The Apple app is slightly better but still only works half the time. For such and expensive product the app support is really bad.

Constant issues where app is not in sync with hardware, history graph won't center to see recent temps/activity and overall feels like this was thrown together and forgotten about. Last update is 4 years ago, but my pool and hardware is new and dependent on this terrible excuse for a smart application. I have asked my builder to tear out the pentair panel and provide an upgraded option that actually works. Same issue on older or new phones, currently galaxy ultra 21. Insanely behind ios app!

Was 5 stars. The app has been taking longer and longer to load and now I can't access the pools functions 90% of the time. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy s20 Ultra. It's pretty annoying as I have the whole back yards lights, water features and pool controlled through this app. I'll reload it 3 or 4 time and maybe it will start working. I was hoping for an update or somthing. Update: found I may be a hardware connection issue. Will update after more work

It Works but pales in comparison to iPad App. I use my Android phone most of the time to manage my pool, but digging into the iPad App opens so many more options, views, and ideal ways to manage the pool. So this app is acceptable, but if you have access to the iOS or iPadOS app, you'll be much happier with it. It also helps if you have a little technical know how or a pool service technician that can help you figure out some of the intricacies of the system, if you have multiple features.

We use Android & the app is completely different on iPhones, world's apart, doesn't even look like the same company designed the app. It's much more polished. Our pool guy has an iPhone, otherwise we wouldn't even know the app had differences. Cause you expect the app & the information it provides to be identical, right? But it isn't & it doesn't. For instance, you don't see alerts on Android, I have to walk out to the pool to find out if I have an issue. Plus it looks like something from the 90s on Android. Its uses are very basic. Super frustrating.

Doesn't work! We have had our pool for just 6 months and for the first few months everything worked flawlessly. However, after just a few months we are constantly having to reset and cannot control the pool from our phones. We are android users and after just searching for answers or help I am seeing this is a very common problem. We spent $1,000s on this system and you would think it would be more reliable. Extremely frustrating!

App works fairly well. Does not always do what you expect. Some non intuitive aspects. For example the Summary/Circuits page shows a list of labeled buttons showing what is on and what's off. Seems nice to have all those controls on one page. If you click on one of the buttons it changes color to indicate that you have switched it on or off. But those buttons there don't control the item. You need to go the "Pool" or "Features" to turn on or off those things.

Horrible. Not all of the functions are working. I am no longer able to view the history (which really wasn't that great anyway), but I am no longer getting the salt level data on the chlorinator. I restarted the wifi. That didn't work. I reinstalled the app. That didn't work. The only functions that work are turning the filter pump on/off and turning on/off the lights. Very disappointed in this app.

Truly horrible on Android. It's not intuitive, and very difficult to navigate. Setting schedules should be so so much easier. At least if the status screen was more thorough I might have some confidence that what I'm doing remotely is actually having a real result at the pool. For example, is the heater actually on when I turn it on? No idea.

When it works, it's OK...problem is, it's usually not working - it constantly drops and won't open. I have to uninstall the app and re-install it, and then it may or may not work. So it's a garbage app and trying to use the manual (Screenlogic2 Interface, which is convoluted and confusing) to get it to connect is an exercise in futility. If I could give it Zero stars, I would...totally worthless.

This app stopped working about 10 days ago. Simply says login failed due to connection. It does connect via my hardwired network at home, but same laptop at my office (off site) doesn't allow it to work. it goes in spurts, works well for 6 months, and randomly stops. Re-installing doesn't work. same for both of our phones. very frustrating at times....... is there a better version? this was such a big seller when i installed my pool a few years ago.

It controls the device but it could use a better dash board for the average user that wants to get straight to the action without having to jump through tabs and screens. Don't understand the developer's decision with putting lighting in a confusing manner. Why no color adjustments? Would be nice if you could see what the color combinations are before selecting them.. it's annoyingly slow to switch the lights over to a new scene. And I'm not just talking hardware limitations.

I wish I could say that all these bad reviews are exaggerated. They are not. When spending many tens of thousands of dollars on a swimming pool to include pentairs good products you expect the remote configuration and control apps to be reliable and professionally designed. It is not. When connecting on the home network it connects reliably but drops the connection with out letting you know it's even dropped fairly regularly. Remote connection through the internet fails for days at a time.

Extremely unhappy! The app worked fine for about 2 to 3 weeks and then started failing to connect. Week after week it would fail more and more often until it finally has just stopped altogether. I have reseated connections and breakers for the controls but to no avail. Unfortunately i did not have a choice on equipment from my pool builder. This app and remote controller are hot garbage. Stay away. Manual controls work fine but defeats the purpose. @pentair. Please upgrade and fix.

Functionality fails regularly. Difficult to setup connectivity. Loses connectivity and does not communicate inability to communicate displaying last known information. App incompatible with newest versions of Android, took almost a year to update and work with newer phone. Seems to randomly stop working. During the few times it works, it is fantastic.

This app is terrible! It doesn't work half the time and if it does connect with the system out side, I can't actually get it to make any changes. I can't get color changes to register, the temp doesn't show up half the time and the salt levels are different on the app than on the system outside. I can't believe there has been no update to this app in 2 years. You said it's coming back in may, when is it actually coming?!?!

Been using it for a year hoping releases would improve user interface. Didn't happen. I can control my pool. My issue is that with the HISTORY feature. It does not behave intuitively. No idea what the time resolution is. No ability to scale graph intuitively. When attempting to zero in on the days date the temp scale changes to 240 degrees max. Now I'm not sure where others set thier spa temps I'm sure it's never beyond boiling temps. Pentair Please put some time in this app and fix it

Equally inferior. Spins without connecting. Even when I disconnect from internet and use my data! So unbelievably frustrating to pay as much as I did for a remote upgrade that is un-usable!!! Deleted the 1st. version of Pentair's app and reloaded, numerous times! So much time wasted. Noticed this is a new version. Fingers crossed it works likenit should, for the $$$! I'll re-rate if that's the case. Didn't rate previous version before deleting so I'm doing it now...THAT'S HOW BAD IT WAS!

When are you going to update the Android app? The iPhone app is modern but the Android app looks like it is from 2011. When you can make the update so that it is compatible with Alexa? Pentair has the potential of being a great app in modern controller, just make it compatible with Androids and other wireless devices. The history section is worthless, it has no time stamp - just a graph of the pool functions, you can estimate timelines, but why isn't there a time stamp on the x axis? I wish I could change the brightness of the lights through the app, look at the speed settings on my pool pump (which sounds like the iphone app has). Your android app hasn't been updated since 2018. Why do I need 2 apps - one to configure my pool equipment and another to run it? Horrible execution on Pentair's part. I'd love to control the pump speed settings through the app instead of manually having to do it at the control panel. Get with 2021 Pentair.

Overall good app for controlling the pool. My wife has it installed on her iPhone and her version has more features and functionality. I had connection problems at first. Turns out it wasn't the app I had to move the communication base closer to the pool controller. Please keep improving and adding functionality.

Mostly functional but very barebones. Often fails to connect when using remotely. The History view is nearly impossible to read. Doesn't integrate with Google Assistant. If a command fails it doesn't show why (e.g. control panel in service mode), it just fails silently. The iPhone app is much better. It is embarassing how much worse the Android app is.
