Script Kitty

**
* Script Kitty 3.0 ***Script Kitty has been re-written from the ground up to enhance compatibilities and capabilities across the board. Script Kitty allows administrators and power-users to tame the beast of managing remote servers over SSH from portable devices. Run scripts and programs on remote servers with a flick and a click.
Script Kitty 3.0 Features:
- NEW
- Redesigned Tablet and Phone GUI
- NEW
- Completely rebuilt ssh libaries for enhanced protocol support
- NEW
- Enhanced OS support for OOB OSX and BSD support
- NEW
- Public key authentication
- NEW
- Experimental Support for local android scripts!
- One-Finger Command execution to single or multiple servers
- Google Drive Backup and Restore

How can I import .sh scripts?Script Kitty will attempt import all files, with the .sh extention, located on your sdcard in the ScriptKitty folder. The script files should ONLY contain the commands to be executed, and be in plaintext format. Script Kitty will use the filename as the label in the interface. You can rename your scripts after they are imported. Non-cleartext file may cause the application to crash or fail.

How can I use pubkey authentication? You must first confirm that the server is properly setup for authentication with public keys. Once validated, from the preferences menu, Select the option to "Generate public key". Once pressed, Script Kitty will create public and private key files on your sdcard in the ScriptKitty folder. You will need to import the public key into your server, and enter the appropriate username on the server definition. You can leave the password field blank, and the public key will be passed at execution.

How do I export logs?Simple, just long press the log entry you would like to export, and a window will pop up with an option to "Save log to SD"

How do I execute a script on a GROUP of servers? For safety purposes, we have moved the option to a nested menu. To execute a script on a group of servers, select one server from the defined group and press the menu button or icon. Script Kitty will display a new option labels "Run group script". Once pressed, you will proceed to the script screen, and the selected script will be executed on the entire cluster.

How do I run local scripts on my Android device! To enable running scripts directly on your device, create a server definition with the address of "localhost". Any scripts executed on the "localhost" will be piped directly to /bin/sh on your device.

Without ssh agent forwarding I can't use Keepass2Android to manage my SSH keys. I reject password-based logins.

The widget is broken and the developer refuses to answer emails. *edit* I bumped to 3 stars since the widget works now but I won't go higher since the developer never answered a single support email.

Backup and restore from Google drive functions dont work properly.

The app itself works pretty great, although the interface could stand to be streamlined a bit between the Run and Edit Script screens. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that the Tasker plugin is fully functional; Script Kitty force closes whenever Tasker attempts to trigger it. :(

I got this to remotely control my Mac. Really easy to set up and trigger remote scripts (either written within Script Kitty or already existing on the remote system). I set up 2 "servers", one using my public IP address for when I'm away from home and another using local LAN address for when I'm just in another room (connects over fast WiFi). Script Kitty has been a pleasure to use. The only thing it won't do (that I've tried) is to set up an SSH tunnel for other Android apps to use to connect to the remote host, but I found a decent SSH Client app for that as well.

Script Kitty seems to force close whenever tasker tries to activate it. Aside from that it runs scripts for me to start and stop motion from my home server perfectly. 2 stars until the plugin is fixed. It would also be nice if Scriptkitty would notify when a script has run successfully or failed

Whenever you add another homescreen widget to launch other scripts, it seems to execute the first one added only. Bummer.. Would have been amazing if not for this little bug. Will definitely buy Pro license if this gets fixed.

Thank you for your great app, and your time building it. I found a minor bug. When having more than one script, and creating widged shortcuts for them, it just launches the first available script instead of the selected one.

Apparently tasker plugin calls for a skactivity which is no longer in the program. Bummer, it would be perfect if that worked. Nexus 7

Looks good, works well. Only have a minor quibble, and a feature request. Minor quibble: script run and edit screens would make more sense combined; as it is, it's a bit frustrating doing things to scripts from a host screen. Feature request: ssh-agent support, with agent forwarding.

This app was EXACTLY what I wanted it to be UNTIL I added a second script. The widget is very responsive, but ALWAYS calls the first script I created. If this was fixed it would get 5 stars and I would buy the pro license.

I'd like to see script groups that I could assign only to particular hosts or host groups. A list of credentials would be nice too, so I could pick which particular user I want to run the script as on that host.

ScriptKitty is REALLY good. It run my scripts on RaspberryPi just fine. I would give 5 stars if it didn't force close when tasker calls it.

I must say i'm impress by how easy it is to run scripts now on my server. Yet i would love to see the option to use shortcuts so i can use my own icons for the most used scripts on my home screen. If that option would become available i would rate it five stars and get you guys another beer.

Sad, since I chose this app because tasker integration. Waiting for fix.

Well worth the pennys. This works fantastically with my Raspberry Pi and allows me to run all the remote scripts I need. A++

I love this app, but the one thing I really want to work (tasker integration) doesn't. Once that works, I'll bump it up to 5 stars.

Pau. M. Feb 17, 2013

Giving 1 star until there is some sort of script ref, examples or lets me know what I canscript in.. No error reports, no idea what I can script in or any examples.. Looks nice but what can or cannot I do?

Mik. B. Apr 13, 2015

I'd give it 5-stars, but I had to struggle way too much to figure out that ssh key business. Still, the end result was I have a button I can click to reboot some headless servers. Done and done.

App is great, but the widget is broken. Creating a widget to launch a second script will always run the first script that was created.

Edo. N. Jul 1, 2013

I like the app. It's simple and seems to simply work. I love the widget shortcut to script.

I was researching paramiko and such in preparation for writing something like this for personal use, but then did some more thorough research on what was already available. My one suggestion would be a choice of icons for the quick-access widgit, and perhaps changable icon text. That way I can have a folder of them on my home screen, and be able to tell them apart more quickly.
