Scripture A Day Widget (LDS)

Nearly unreadable. The widget is set to a 2x2 space, but I couldn't find a way to change that. No customization for font size, which was so small I could hardly read it. (Which would be less of a problem if text used the whole space allotted.) The icon on the widget covered part of the text as well. Disappointing. Great idea, but not practically useable.

I've used this widget for forever, and have really enjoyed it. I especially like that it now opens in the Gospel Library app. However, it stopped working on my new phone (Galaxy S10) after owning it for a few weeks. Now it just says, "scripture loading." I followed the developer's advice from a response to another user having the same issue, but it defeats the purpose of the widget. It's easier to just open the Gospel Library app to a random scripture, ha :p

Not for everyone. Some of us chose not to have Gospel Library on our phone given the massive size of the app. As such, I don't have the ability to read the entire scripture when it is longer than what fits in the widget, unless I go to my physical scriptures and look it up ... which defeats the point of having this.

Edit: The app widget disapeared and reinstalling it isn't working after 3+ years of using it :( Sometimes I don't have time to study my scriptures, so it's great to have a different daily scripture right on the home screen of my device! My only suggestion: I've noticed that it seems to be the same scriptures repeated each year. I know there are more than 365 good scriptures out there (especially with the Book of Mormon included...). Could there be more scriptures please?

I love this app but am saddened that with the update it only says it is loading, even after restarting, and unloading and reloading. Please find the correction. I'd love to have it back. With this correction please bring back the feature that takes you to the scripture, not just the chapter.

I used to love this widget! but with the recent Samsung S8 update, it no longer displays a scripture. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but it hasn't worked. All it says is "Loading scripture of the day..." but it's been about a week. Please fix this, I love my daily scripture.

I had this app for a long time and it worked great. But within the last few weeks, it stopped working, only showing the same scripture every day. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, but now it's not showing anywhere in my phone. Love the idea and love when it worked!

Loved this app and its daily messages. Just stopped loading one day. :( I did get the link added to the home screen, for the internet, but it doesn't seem to work the same as it did. Really wish it would go back to working the way it did originally.

I love this widget, but lately it says loading scripture of the day everytime I reboot my phone. I've had to uninstall it and reinstall it a lot lately and it's just becoming a hassle. Please fix this. I love having having it, but I really don't want to have to deal with having to uninstall and reinstall it.

I have had this for a long time, then one day it stopped showing the scripture. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it, and still nothing is showing. what Is wrong? This maybe started a week or less ago when my Samsung S8+ had an update. Also please bring back where when I click on it it takes me to the verse, not the Chapter.

I have had this app for years. My family and I have loved it and used it many times for church activities and daily scriptures. But with the last update on my phone, it has stopped working. I tried installing it and reinstalling, but nothing seems to work. Can you please do an update on the app so it will work again. 😢

I used to love this app but ever since I got my new phone, it gets stuck on one scripture. I have to un-install it and re-install it to get it to change the scripture. (This was suggested by the app tech support) I feel like it has been long enough now that if it happens again I'm on my about 6th re-install, I'll give it up .

I just recently downloaded this and have loved it then after the Samsung s8 update it stopped working and just said loading. I noticed my phone wad on power saving mode so I turned that off, removed the widget from my home screen and readded it and now it's working perfectly

Honestly I love the scriptures and almost everything about the app except how you cannot change/customize widget size and font size. Honestly if that were changed with a smaller and larger options it would be perfect.

I have enjoyed this app for many years. It's always nice to have scripture on hand. Some days the scripture is exactly what i needed to read. I too have had problems with the app. It won't load anymore. I have the Galaxy S9. It too went through an update and my app won't load. Please fix. I would love to give you a 5 star rating.

I had the same problem with it saying loading. realized I had my phone on power save mode. once I turned that off, I removed widget from home screen then put it back. works great now. rating is now back to 5 star. I hope this helps someone.

It works great on my Samsung Note 4 but since I am now using a new Galaxy s10e it does not load a scripture. The widget just says "loading scripture of the day...." but it never loads. Perhaps this is an abandoned app? It appears last update was back in 2017. It was a 5 star app but since it no longer functions on the newer phones I sadly say 1 star. Will this be updated??? I loved it.

I love this app!! However since my phone updated the only option is a 3x3 grid which is just to large of a grid for my phone screen. The 1x1 grid was great but no longer an option. Hate to loss this wonderful app!!

Love this! I love being able to see an inspirational scripture everyday, it makes the rest of my day much better! It also opens to the scripture in Gospel Library, which is totally awesome! Would definitely reccommend!

I've had this app installed on my phone for years. It's one of the first things I look at after turning on my phone in the morning. I also love that it is a shortcut to The Gospel Library app if you want to read the full scripture.

Please, please, please update. On my new Galaxy S10Plus, it just shows "scripture loading". I loved it when it was working. Uninstalling and reinstalling works for a few days and then stops.

The app is not working nor is it showing up. I don't get any scriptures at all daily. Maybe is just certain phones it's compatible with. It's a real good app to have, I just wished it worked on mine.😕

99% love it. I have to uninstall and reinstall every time I download a new Samsung theme, but otherwise absolutely no complaints. I love having this widget. It's very well done.

The URL works thanks so much. Love reading the daily scriptures helps me prepare for the day 😇😇😇. The cool thing is.... ... if you would like to understand more just click on the shortcut and it takes you straight to Gospel Library cite. Thanks for helping us find a way to still use this.

I would enjoy it so much more if the size of the font and the widget were adjustable. It would be nice to not have to use my reading glasses at times. Otherwise, I like it a lot.

Awesome very helpful hope you stay spiritually strong and helps you to think about daily life as it returns to scripture but the only problem is the widget takes too much space and too much memory

love the app, great scriptures, has definitely helped me everyday. It hasn't been updated to fit the new Android update, so it's currently not working, but I'm sure they'll do an update soon and it will work again.

I installed but it wont allow me to open it. I also cant find the app anywhere on my phone despite the fact that it says its installed. This app was exactly what I was looking for. I just wish it actually showed up and worked:(

Well I haven't written a full star rating bc it didn't work for my tablet, as in it didn't appear at all lol i love the idea and would like to use this app if it can be used on a tablet. Thank you and keep me posted if something changes and I can use it on my device!
