ScytheKick: Scythe Companion
ScytheKick has five main tabs:
FACTIONS
Use this tab to randomize picking factions and player mats from the game, and select which players are Automa and which are human. Offers a repick option if the player doesn't want the random combination, or swipe up and down on the images to manually select. Swipe left and right to review what the other players got. Up to two players are supported. Additional players can be unlocked with the Premium upgrade, and Invaders from Afar factions are unlocked with the Invaders from Afar upgrade, both in the ScytheKick Store.
TILES
Use this tab to randomly pick the tiles at the start of a match, like the Structure Bonus Tile. Resolution and Airship Tiles can be unlocked with the Wind Gambit Expansion from the ScytheKick Store.
AUTOMA
For solo mode or additional AI opponents, this tab creates a page for each Automa opponent (with all four difficulty levels available). Use the buttons to draw turn cards, combat cards or discard and advance the star tracker, or optionally double tap to draw and dismiss cards. Automatically reshuffles and flips from Scheme I to Scheme II. One Automa opponent is available in the Preview mode of the app. Additional decks can be unlocked with the Premium upgrade in the ScytheKick Store. Use the Automa Helper (gameboard icon) to solve Automa movement via an upgrade from the ScytheKick Store. Swipe up or tap the map button to bring it up.
SCORING
On this tab, you can simplify end game scoring when counting stars, territories and resources, coins and structure bonuses. Tap the numbers to update the values, and tap the icons to move to the next category. Swipe left and right to move between factions if a match has been set up in the Faction Picker. Automatically divides the resources by two, so just enter the number you have.
SETTINGS
Includes settings for:
* Manage In-App Purchases in the ScytheKick Store
* Online user guide.
* Adjustable volume
* Disable screen locking when Automa is in use
* Choosing whether Automa are friendly to other Automa players for the Automa Helper solver. Choose if Active Airship Variant is used.
* Smooth Popularity Track mode awards coins not just based on the three tiers on the Popularity Track, but interpolates linearly between each level and also counts odd numbers of resources. Scores at popularity 3, 9 and 15 score as normal, but scores higher and lower increase and decrease. For example, scores between popularity of 6 and 7 are closer with the setting mode on.
ScytheKick version 3.9 on Android supports Android 8.0 and later.

After a quick glance at the automa manual I fired ScytheKick up, got the premium upgrade package plus the Automa helper package and started a game. Interface took a bit of getting used to but it's designed really well and has a lot of intuitive pointers to guide you along. Fantastic app for solo mode. There's a bit of lag as the menu shifts from the board layout to the card menu but it's a minor nitpick of a great app.
Was great until the disallowing of certain combos. That's fine if certain combos are suggested as "banned", but at least allow the user to decide whether or not to allow those combos. Some of us enjoy allowing those. As it is, I've since found another app that does allow that.
Does exactly what I need it to do. Great for a solo experience without fiddling with cards. If I had any critisism, it would be the the white Polania icons can be really hard to see against the light color of the map titles. Other than that, perfect!
I really like this app. Running the Automa is a beast and this makes it a lot easier. Well worth the extra money I have spent to unlock the expansions. I would have just given that to the developer to thank them. I do agree that it would be nice to see the Rise of Fenris Expansion added to android version. I haven't opened my physical one yet, but it would be nice to be able to use whatever is in there later.
The app does nothing that you couldn't do with a simple random number generator and an excel sheet or a quick python script. That's not a problem, except that it costs over 4 euros to use it properly. Not worth the money. I'll make a free website for this some time. Make it 1 euro and I'd have bought it.
Looks cool and it works, but it doesn't explain itself very well. It also forces you to purchase a premium upgrade before you can purchase other things in the app and it seems like an arbitrary cash grab. I want to like the app but the cost is too much to get full features.
Sadly Android version is left way behind iOS. No support for modular board, rise of fenris campaign. The app itself is okay, but you can not play eg. 7 player matches making it lacking the best of it can be... Paywall just ads extra frustration level... I will use it, but I am am disappointed that releases for both platforms are so different. ð€·ââïž
This is a nice util for automating the board game Scythe. My only gripe of this app is I wanted to just unlock everything so I chose to purchase premium. After I did that I found I still had to pay to unlock the wind gambit and Invaders from afar. There is no way to get your money back. Very deceptive! I think premium should either unlock everything or at least advise you what it does and doesn't unlock!
I opened the app to explore it, and I accidentally pressed the button to purchase the invaders from afar add-on and the app became unusable. I couldn't back out of the window, and even closing the app and reopening it left me stuck on the window to purchase the add on. After about 3 or 4 minutes of trying to back up to the main window, I Uninstalled the app.
App is very fiddly. If you want to play with more than one automa it does the job well enough, but if you are just playing with one it's easier and quicker to use the cards.
Wow. Until tonight I'd never played Scythe solo because of the fiddly instructions for Automa movement. This app made it so easy and so much fun! The scoring calculator also takes the chore out of the end game tally. Thoroughly recommend this app. You'll need to spend a few quid on the in app purchases to get the full potential but it's worth it. Thanks creator! Make more like this!
Awesome app! Played my first game with two Automas today and it is very easy to use. I highly recommend watching the walk thru video but the cost is well worth it if you want to play solo or add an Automa to your 2 player games. Can't wait for Rise of Fenris to be released.
i just accidentally click invaders of afar button and it directs me to buy it in order to unlock it, i want to quit this option but every time i return it always quit the app instead back to main menu i was annoyed by it so i purchase it for no reason, but then even i finished purchase there is no option for me to return to main menu at all, please repair this matter bcause is really annoyed
Helpful app ð I would give five stars if I could see all the final scores on one screen, maybe with the faction and player mat. Currently it just shows the top score.
Nice for automa help, but missing fenris and other features that are available in iOS. Seels like the android version isn't getting any more features or support.
STILL No Fenris Support? This is ridiculous. This app, with everything unlocked in order to make it useful, is expensive and now it just sits in limbo waiting for the Fenris additions to keep using. The Android development seems really slow. What's taking so long?
App works as advertised but is missing support for features (Rise of Fenris, etc) that was added to the iOS version a year ago. Will adjust rating once feature parity is achieved!
Good app to help manage Automa. Only things keeping it from 5 stars is no updates since May 2019 and still no Fenris on Android. So disappointing!
No Rise of Fenris support. Deeply, deeply regret purchasing. Going back to running the Automa via the included cards.
Great app and a must-have for solo Scythe players. It would have gotten 5 stars if Rise of Fenris support was added. It was added to added to iOS a very long time ago, and it's a pity that Android isn't getting the same amount of attention.
It's a great app but still waiting on fenris support! Already sunk money into all the modules and just want to sink more into the app! Just give us what iOS has had for ages! Bit misleading as hoped to have the fenris support, can't recommend this app on Android given its limitations
Generally very helpful when it comes to dealing with the minutia of playing a game of Scythe, especially when trying to play with multiple Automa.
This app appears to function as intended, however placing game expansion content behind paywalls is boarder line unethical behavior (unless royalties are paid to SM). While understanding the need to gain compensation for the app, making free DL but charging for expansions is like taking someone else's art and charging to view it. At least when museums charge to view art, that is directly benefiting the establishment that is caring for the art.
Premium upgrades says you can choose to from all available factions. Imagine my surprise when I find out you have to pay extra for Invaders factions, and rise of fenris factions are not even in the app. Not to mention you have to pay extra for wind Gambit support and even more for the automa helper.
Changed my rating down since support for Android seems to have halted. It would get a glorious 5 star rating had it supported the Rise of Fenris Expansion (it is supported on iOS version). No love for Android ? If Devs could let us know if the option still stands. Or if they could open source the app so that fans may finish there work.
Great app that I use every time I play solo with the automa helper being a fantastic add-on. Loses a star sadly due to Rise of Fenris not being included in the Android version.
the starting of a good app but anytime the app goes to the store i cannot go back to leave the store except to make the purchase. i dont want to purchase. this is a problem
If you paid $4 for the app it should include everything. It's complete garbage that it wants to charge extra for Wind Gambit and Invaders From Afar. Avoid this cash grab at all costs.
Very nice looking app and really curious about the automa feature when it comes to solving map movement but you must pay first. I would like to see an example of it in action or be able to try it for a few minutes before I decide to buy it. Also, once you go to the next automa card, there doesn't seem to be a way to go back if you accidentally double tapped or hit the buttons at the top. Also, i wish this worked with the Fenris expansion.
