SD Emergency
Your family may not be together when disaster strikes, so it is important to plan in advance: how you will contact one another; how you will get back together; and what you will do in different disaster situations. The SD Emergency app contains disaster preparedness information, like:

*Importing or Restoring an Emergency Plan/Kit will overwrite any existing Plan/Kit information stored in the app.

great information to have, BUT a single high pitched beep from my phone is hardly an alert to an emergency. PLEASE change the alert sound to an option to select the sound and the duration of the sound. That way you'll have my attention when a fire is headed my way! (Do you read these reviews?)
Why bother if you don't include basic information on wildfires that give the public some real information....which way is the fire moving? Speed of movement? Percentage contained? Number of structures burned? Better map capability, etc.
Good but needs work. This is a great way to get alerts and updates to people quickly! However, the interface could use some work since it seems a bit clunky.
Don't know about during emergency but it was easy to set-up and seems to cover what would be all necessary services. I hope never to hear from you.
Love the app. Would like a setting for it to push notifications when my phone is on Do Not Disturb.
Good app but I don't always get the notifications and when I do it's much later than the time stamp on the warning
This app has been very useful lately. I knew right away that the state was shutting down so I could prepare immediately.
It's a start but it needs a lot of work. County has a history of being cheap! This software reflects it.
Please make your SD county apps for Android version 5.1.1. App like Tell Us Now! are only available for Android 6.0. Thank you.
Updates are not timely, often hours later than the need for the information.
there is no such thing as too much info when it comes to getting around in San Deigo.

The emergency map doesn't load anything. The shelter map works and the listing shows if they are full or open. The social media links are very helpful. Push notifications are either on or off - I'd like to choose notifications for emergencies in my area, but not every update detail for the whole region. The emergency map reallly needs to work if people are going to be able to rely on it during emergencies. But the shelter map, updates, and media links make it worth using.
I don't know why there are so many 1 star reviews. The map loads fine for me. I've been getting hourly push notifications with updates about road closures, evac sites, etc. This app isn't designed for people in the middle of evacuating, but rather for emergency preparedness and updates to let you know if you will need to evacuate.
Don't refer residents to an app that doesn't function properly. I heard on the news that we directed to the app instead if calling for information since the 211 lines got crashed. There was no more news here than when I stopped watching the news over an hour ago. The one helpful thing I was looking for, the map, as others indicated, failed to load. The evacuation listings are confusing a best. Don't waste you time on this app, until it is vastly improved Like a flashlight, when you need it to work...it NEEDS to work!
Doesn't load maps most of the time. When it does it's in Spanish. Notifications are worthless and late
I the push notifications have been very helpful. I was just alerted about an evacuation for a fire I didn't know existed.
Worst emergency app ever! Very infrequent updates and not even listing fires that are going on just a few miles away. If the county is going to direct people to this app they should make sure it actually gives useful and timely info.
Awful! Live in North SD County & we may as well not exist. There is a fire 1/4 of a mile away, showing on the news since yesterday but nothing on map, app notifications, etc. Info on SD's Twitter which I do not follow.
It gives me notifications about fires. Beyond that its not very useful.
Please fix the map, it's really one of the most useful tools on the app, and it doesn't even work.

Useless since the emergency map won't open.
It used to be awesome... But over the past 6-8mo or so, I've realized it's NOT sending me push-notifications or Emergency-Alert Audible Notifications any longer, even though from what I can tell in my App Settings- this function appears to be Enabled?! So NOW- this app's great for Reference of Emergency Situations that you ALREADY KNOW happened/are underway... But the major purpose of this App is to ALERT/NOTIFY you of an Emergency Situation taking place because you DON'T already know about it!!
